so u mean if the tank got sponge filter + fan then will b better? forget to mention the tank is keep indoor & sometimes got on aircond.. ><!!
*
best if you could provide sponge filter, fan if water temperature too high.
sometimes got aircond << meaning you might have temperature swing. Will the water be very very cold when aircond is turn on>?

It is really very very long ~!
damn alot moving around. and even more over dead shrimp body !

ciohbu:
did you test your water ph?
i just brought a ph pen yesterday. Tested result was ph5.7 on 3feet, ph7.1 on 2feet.
Any idea how much of salt i should add to 3feet to bring it up to ph6.0?
and what i have to put to lower ph7.1 to ph6.3 ?
Thanks ~

i brought it at Rm100 from another forum.
It is a digital ph pen, very easy to use and handle.
Claim to be maintenance free.

it is impossible for you to catch them one by one bare handed.
Use no-planaria powder to kill them. in my experience, 3 times dosage would clear up the whole population. But the powder is sold in quite huge package, normally is about RM40, enough for use for centuries.

@ngweileon:
CRS is way harder to keep if you compare with RCS and cherry.
Thats why they are more expensive !

@LuQEE:
Your sakura looks like cherry more to me. i having hundreds of them inside my 3feet. i just sold about 100 of them to separate buyers.

@L3()nZ:
would you share your experience in keeping these CRS?
most beginners start with CRS instead of RCS. most of CRS ended up dead.
IMHO, CRS must have cold water. maximum temperature it can survive is 28C. And also, they need very stable water parameters. successful CRS keepers monitor water Gh and Kh, as well as Ammonia and nitrate level.

want to ask: ADA brighty K does not harm shrimp rite?
*
No, as long as you dose according to measurement, and make sure your tank has enough plants to absorb all the ferts

QUOTE(wkeongabguide @ Mar 26 2012, 10:02 AM)
is chiller a must for CRS?
*
CRS must have temperature 28C maximum, normall keeper put 24-26C on CRS tank.
unless your aquarium is inside aircon room, else you need chiller.

I juz got a new 3 feet aquarium n plan to breed CRS n RCS. I use ADA soil, juz put moss in there bcause moss doesnt need Co2 injection rite? What brand n model of chiller u guys will recommend? Currently my shrimp is still in my old 1 ft tank, juz using fan. Pls giv me some tips n advise smile.gif
*
moss does not need co2 injection to grow, but they wont be looking nice.
chiller i would recommend Hailea, model 150a (just enough) or 250a (better) would suitable for 3feet tank.
you need to cycle your aquarium for at least 1month to get stable water parameter.
