sorry but whats CFM? =S

Added on March 15, 2012, 11:17 pmwith 2x 8cm diameter fan wont the water evaporate too fast?

CFM = cubic feet/minute, in simple term is the amount of air it moves per minute.

i think the best compromise in term of size vs CFM is still a 12v 8x8x2.5cm DC fan (normal PC ventilation fan)

n about evaporation, i think i read it somewhere, the principle behind cooling an aquarium with a fan is by promoting more evaporation. like wiping sanitizing alcohol on ur hand. when it evaporates, ur hand becomes cool right? so more evaporation = more temperature lowered.

i think water evaporation is a price to pay for cooling an aquarium with fan. my aquarium has a surface area of 16x13 inch, water from my aquarium evaporates approx. 1cm per day. im using a single 8x8x2.5 12v DC fan only. it is suffice to lower my aquarium temp from 30-31 deg C to 25-26 deg C, n sometimes in the morning it can go as low as 24. i dun even hav AC in my room...hehe...

i live somewhere in PJ, where temp is blisteringly hot almost 2/3 of the year. n my room faces the sun from 11am to 6pm, everyday.

DC vent fan from old PC = free
AC/DC converter (12V, 2A) (from old laptop i think) = free

so total cost = free biggrin.gif

can anyone identify this plant? damn suddenly increase my pH in shrimp tank..all the shrimp go carzy flying inside the tank..nearly kill entire colony of the tank. From 6.9 to 8.2..lucky i was able to create another temporary tank with low pH. does certain plant increase water pH or the water from the plant that increase the pH? really terrifying. sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

eh guys,
cherry shrimp and snow white. will they cross breed?
what i heard is that they are different family.
RCS and CRS

if different family then rarely cross breed la...

even if cross breed, the progeny is almost always infertile...

edit:- different family or different genera?

Is it fine for me to use filter water from my tap , or do i ned any thing extra.
Btw im breeding shrimp with fish like neon tetra and smaller tropic fish, im juz scared they are aggressive or is it juz not suitable to the tempreture and PH .
HELP me SIFU's what should i do.

i believe thats your problem, unless ur filter can eliminate chlorine..

you need antichlorine... nutrafin aquaplus is the best i think... n 2L bottles cost ard rm70 only... can last more than a year i think....

Some of them float, some of them sink.. But I will use a spoon to make it all sink to the bottom. How do you differentiate from a sad shrimp and a happy shrimp? Any guidelines for a beginner?

sad shrimps frowns, happy shrimps smiles ? tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif
