I noticed some white colored mosquito larvae like swimming in my shrimp tank. is it planaria ?

I also noticed some white dots floating/swimming...are they shrimplets or dust ?

i know nothing about it, and feel geli when the shrimp climb on my hand. but still, i feel wana to keep them.

My tank used for 2months already. inside got 9 guppies, 4otos, 7 tectras, 2 dory and 2 danio. 50 cm tank with 600l/hr filter.

please advise me, sifu~!

u can put shrimp in but don;t expect them to breed coz for fish will makan ur shrimplets

i jsut have some simple plant which dont really need co2. but plan on a plant tank..kekeke..

My shrimp story to share. Must keep this thread active....

I think I had 'dumped' about 60 RCS into my 26L nano tank in several batches over a few months (top up to replace the missing or dead ones. This excluded the expensive lessons of 15 CRS in 2 batches. One recently addition of a plant which I now suspect of being heavily dozed with copper fert killed all - including my highly entertaining pair of Amanos (a.k.a. Yamatos).

From my latest dump of 10 RCS 2 weeks back, I can only find 4 of them at certain times. Other times, cannot see them at all. Too many hiding spots.

This is getting to be a costly exercise for me...

Nobody answered my same question. Thread starter, ciohbu must be away on holiday...

I tried keeping CRS with DIY blower fans with temperature around 27.5 to 28.5 degrees. They all died off one by one within 2-3 weeks. Guess they need around 25 or lower consistently.

don't think it's temp problem. i'm keeping crs with fan too but i hear diff to breed. of coz with chiller better n breed ezly

So, what are your pH, KH ad GH values? Are your CRSs doing fine for at least a month? If I can keep them alive for at least 6 months (from average lifespan of 2 years), I will not complain.

hmmm.. one tips is try to plant them with root slightly out of the soil... hahaa..
i have one group growing like that, another group stay low and u can't see their root:D

most important is a mature tank, pay attention to PH and GH don't really recommend to keep neocaridina or any shrimp with fish, unless ur tank are big and heavily planted

ur 50cm tank sound abit overcrowded... too dangerous

i using normal 8cm fan only.. temp around 28-29C... but if u keeping more sensitive species such as CRS (caridina)... chiller is recommended
