There is this type of lock, when contractor key is use first. Than when normal key is use, the contractor key will be void. This is just a generalized summary. More detail you need to ask the door seller.

Another method that I use is digital lock and numbered pad lock. I just give them the access number, then they done change it.

I think ASSA was the original design who made this.
