Whatever it is, in the short term nothing will change unless their trees profile changes. It is still about old trees.

Just like CIMB, it kept buying every asset it came across. Now it is selling them off. So why buy in the first place. This is call greed n it leads to indigestion

FGV is close to sealing the deal to buy a substantial stake in PT Eagle High Plantations Tbk, the third largest plantation group listed in Jakarta, according to industry sources.

It is understood that FGV has been in talks with PT Eagle High's controlling shareholder Tan Sri Peter Sondakh, whose investment vehicle PT Rajawali Corp holds a 65.5% equity interest in the Indonesian plantation group.

Sources said the negotiations are in the final stage, with a stake of some 30% set to change hands.

Eagle High, currently has total Indonesian land bank of 419,006ha, of which 147,000ha are planted.

Malaysia's Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd plans to buy 37 percent of Indonesia's PT Eagle High Plantations Tbk from Rajawali Group for around $680 million, a Rajawali executive said on Friday.

Felda plans to buy 30 percent of Eagle High in cash and 7 percent by issuing new shares.

Felda will also buy 95 percent of Rajawali's sugar project for around $67 million.

Eagle High shares had surged more than 12 percent earlier after media reports had flagged that a deal was in the works.

Knowing how Fgv seems to pay over the fair mkt prices and considering the going runner/agent's fees' it wont be cheap

seniors mention below rm1.60

according to Indon news report, the buying price of Rp375/share is around 22x PE which is higher than avg of 16x PE plantation companies listed in Indonesia
