When I was young, at that era when only plasticine is available and no fancy sculpting or polymer clay to use, i'll create some mud by mixing water and earth together, mould them to the shape I want (usually dinasour or monsters), dry them in the sun and paint them. But after a while they will start to crack. However, the experience was fun indeed
