the shop name is Brother Game enterprise. Thanks for recalling. Yup, i learn my lesson, buying a new screen protector. Lol.
Yeah, same here. Happens to me too!
There is a slight lag when i open my Vita from sleep mode and freeze when i tried to download from PSN. I also happen to have lagging when i tried to download too many files. ( 4.5 gb, two games )
I thought it was because i downloaded porn with it, thank god it's the system update that is causing the laggy.
*
Gotta be careful when you shop next time, pal.

Haven't had chance to test the download issue since i do not have anything to d/l atm... the slight lag was improved after the 2.11, still it will occur occasionally...

hi i have few questions to ask.. is it possible for me to dl vita games on PC then transfer it to my vita through CMA ? also, i have been using for two days, and my vita sometimes tend to freeze..is it normal ? (normaly this happen when i am downloading sth in the background)
*
Nope, unfortunately! You can do that with PS3 though... Ask someone with PS3 about it...?

Considered "Normal" after the latest FW update... well, for me at least... And I shouldn't say it's FROZEN, must just be me do not have the patient to wait it out as it just LOAD and the PS Button doesn't work for the longest... 5 min... before I got pissed off and turn it off/on to reboot it and try again... rinse and repeat the outrageous act until I succeeded wink.gif

so um, i'm gonna get a PSV soon. and i'm wondering whats it to do with US ver, SG ver or JAP ver. isit smth to do about the credit card payment thing as in some cards restricted for US cant be used to pay if the PSV is a US ver. Please state other reasons if any.

if so how bout the games, will a US ver PSV be able to play a JAP ver game (i.e. disgaea, the jap one) or vice versa. also what's with the R1 R3 thingy i've seen some people posting about.

Lastly, the current price for  a wifi PSV set in MYR (some stores just wanna rip you off and watch you burn). And if there is other things you think i should know before i buy a PSV please do advise  biggrin.gif  thankyiu in advance everyone who tried to help!!  rclxm9.gif

If you are talking about GAME CARDS... VITA is "region free", simply put you can play games of any region on VITA of any region.
BUT, when it comes to DLC and Digital Games... that's different story, "Regional Restriction" applies to these sucker terms!
Meaning, you can't download extra content from JP PSN for a US ver (R1) game, and so on...
Digital Games are stuck with the PSN account you registered with, in a sense, it's "region locked" for Digital copies! ... for now? (Don't know what'd happen after the release of PS4 after all the claims they made with DIGITAL FREEDOM, sorta...)
FYI, PSN accounts are US (R1), Japan/Europe (R2) and Asia (R3), you can simply google for more info.

Some people have issues with credit card while some don't... Something to do with credit card verification? I don't know... I used to have problems with Asia (HK) account but after few tries, I could pay with my Hong Leong CC... To answer your first question, credit card payment is a lesser problem, providing your CC is a legit one, and not stolen card... The DLC, game content availability and Online play are the major concerns (probably trophies not transferable after switching to another account... too?)...

Last one... Apologize, I hardly follow up on the VITA pricing nowadays... Hope someone could get you the latest price about VITA!

oh i see thanks for the quick replies! appreciate it.

also if i buy a 2nd hand Vita, will i be using HIS PSN acc, or will i create a new PSN account? (heard PSN accounts are like limited to 3 accounts per device or so) cus i think it'll be like a BIG prob if i dont have a PSN account which beats the reason why i buy PSV to play online games. also what should i take note of when buying 2nd hand vita

also for online plays, say Ragnarok of R2, will i face any prob playing it on a MY/HK set?
*
I doubt the ex-owner is willing to let you inherit his account... since the account is linked to his email account... or shall I say, if you don't mind by any chance having some sensitive info to be sent to him even though he let you had his account...

I can't give much advice other than common sense about trading applies... See if someone else is willing to share what to watch out for when getting a 2nd VITA, as I don't have experience with 2nd hand.

Same goes for online play, never do it myself. My guess is R2 COULD not be played in R3 account? Anyone may be able to tell you with first hand experience but it is a concern if online play is essential for you...

QUOTE(jesseblue @ Jun 26 2013, 03:33 PM)
I'm interested to know about this too. What you mentioned are digital contents right?
Meaning we can buy the Vita(hardware-wise) from SG, UK etc. and they won't make any difference? Just that the PSN account we created is region locked?

In the GS, how come new UK set is cheaper than SG set? Same thing right?  rclxub.gif
*
For physical copies, the carts, yes, you can play in any VITA regardless of which region the carts from, just need to do extra work if you get it second hand...
Well, there will be too much to elaborate about the PSN account... the memory card, the DLC, and online play.
1. Your memory card will keep the game data (certainly digital games) and account info; you get a memory card with said US account and try to access HK account, it will ask you to format the memory card or go back to US account. So you get digital copy from US account, once you format the MC, the game is gone with the account (Note: you just deactivate account, not closed! and of course, you can always log back in US account and re-d/l the game). SO You cannot bring the digital copy you bought from US account to HK account, and for the same game in HK account, it is still considered NOT PURCHASED... hence a way of "region lock" on the digital copy.

2. DLC, you can't d/l them for a JP game from a US account... because US PSN does not have the R2 game, it contains only R1 game (not sure about HK and JP though)... That's one thing to consider when picking a PSN. so semi-R lock here.

3. Online play, if you get the pass from US PSN, sorry, like case 1., you have to buy the pass again if you want to go online play in HK PSN... but then I don't know if there's a way around it, never bother with the online play after all since it comes with digital copy hence you're locked to that regional account anyway... but definitely did hear lots of complaint regarding the online play from those who own physical carts...

Don't know why UK set is cheaper than SG... Just knew that they get you all the hassle to discourage you from buy their products outside of your regions for a reason... of course, they will still shut up and take your money anyway...

Why ah? Just the game card right? Not just plug in and play?
*
Oh, what I am saying, yes, it is just plugged in and played, but for second hand game cart (depend on the game), you may need to cut its "bond" with the previous owner ( the owner might let it go, but the cart might not think you are the owner yet smile.gif)

You will know once you get certain games of second hand copy, otherwise with a new cart, you just knock yourself out and do the obvious one.

Not a problem... I can't answer all and only shared my experiences for something I had gone through frustration with trial and error, but there are some I just heard from but shared regardless, may be someone else can either give you better idea or point out and correct me if I had misled...

You can backup downloaded games to PC via "Content Manager Assistant". The backup will keep your downloaded games file and save files. After backup, you can delete the game from memory card. You can restore the game anytime to memory card without needed to re-download the game from PSN store.
*
Another thing to take note from this though, if you back up your game data/files from a US account into the PC, you cannot transfer the same game data/files from the PC to your VITA with a memory card registering with other accounts than US...
Your CMA will display NOTHING, although the folder is definitely not "empty" as long as your memory card is not logged in US account... unless someone has came up with a hack or custom firmware brows.gif ...

So take note if you are an... Account hopper... smile.gif

guys my vita drain of batteries and my adapter broken d, so b4 just charge using the usb cable. but since it drain i cant manage to charge it using usb i try laptop PC and also my BB adapter but still wont charge.

Do anyone know whats the problem n how to fix it?
*
Are you turning on the VITA?

IIRC, VITA WILL NOT charge when turned on if you are charging via a usb cable to Laptop/PC... And I believe you may need to install CMA prior... Another thing to look at is the Setting which you have to enable USB Power Supply...

Anyway, the obvious solution since you said your adapter is a gone case, is that you can only spend some $ and get a new adapter...

how to change my PSVita account??
*
A new account in the same PSN? or switch to a new PSN?

1st just format your memory card shall do... and when it prompts you to log in... just click a new account something...

2nd one requires reset vita to factory setting and format memory card/plug in a new memory card

didnt know that just format memory card will do...
i thought the account is saved in vita itself...

if like that if i wanna keep changing account i can just switch the memory card?
*
after update 1.8, they made it such that your mc is bound to your account for obvious reason...

Btw, do you mean you are switching regional account? means for example from MY PSN to US PSN, is that what you are trying to do?

one memory card is one account for now... you need to format in order to log in an account of different registry (doable but just tedious). Or like you say otherwise, spend some money and have another mc for the additional account.

But if you are switching to account of different region (for Asia PSN, MY to SG/HK or whichver is still considered different), it takes more than just switching memory card. You'll need to reset the vita system and select the appropriate region.

Hi all! I'm getting my Vita next week. I'm wonder which PSN region to create..should i create the US or Asia one? i knw for sure US has more content than Asia's but i thought that we should support Asia for more growth so that we get more content..
*Good to hear u supporting Asia PSN. I would challenge US got more content coz now Asia's content is just as good and almost every region will have similar content now just a matter of timing (eg rayman origins was free on Asia PS+ first but now free on US PS+ while Hitman absolution was free on Euro PS+ but then later free on Asia PS+). One benefit Asia's PS+ will have  is that they get Japan PS vita games for free (just check out this month's and u'll know) including games like Ragnarok Odyssey!
Downside of using US PSN account, you can easily compare with Malaysia trophy hunters / gamers. But only if u interested in that sort of thing smile.gif
I'm using Umobile 2 GB (RM 40 every month). Not prepaid but so far so good. Mainly use it for near and downloading stuff. Problem with prepaid always have to remember to top up etc.
*
Another reason to steer clear of US PSN and opt for Asia PSN (particularly HK) or better yet most expensive JP PSN is if you like JRPG and JP ver. game just like me...
Some great JRPG titles hardly get over to the other side of the globes except few for various reasons (some it's just a gamble hoping they do localize the game you are keen on)...
With that being said, if you are not predominantly a JRPG/JP player... Forget about this then.

ah dang... what a bummer.. sad.gif

now i am thinking whether i should buy ragnarok oddysey ACE R3
or wait for R1. Anyone playing RO ACE R3?

This means if i want to play online and co-op RO ACE R3 i need to register PSN+ R3?
*
To expand a little further...
There are sometimes Japanese titles (R2) distributed among few R3 PSN... if ya getting the R2 physical copy, I believe you are able to download the DLC (if they offer) in R3 PSN that distributes the same title...

Online play is really depending on the game iteself, some games allow players to play with other players of different PSN but some just don't...

Also to be safe, just go with Physical copy, don't ever bother with digital, Sony has the worst for the owner of digital game copies...
At least Nintendo comes clear with the region lock, Sony has been going back on their words quite often or kept changing statements to confuse you... I had everything Sony game systems except PS3 and beginning from this VITA, I began to hating Sony more than loving it, I can't find myself supporting this abysmal corporation anymore... Players outside of Japan are treated like shits by Sony, think and choose the PSN wisely if you really have to stick with PS Vita...

This is really sad and confusing but thanska lot for your great effort to explain to newbie like me. To be hoenst, the main reason why i buy vita is to play ragnarok only LOL.

I am thinking of buying the physical RO ACE R3 today and play it online. I have not registered for PSN. In this case then i guess my PSN needs to be R3?

The answer will decide wheter i should wait for the R1 RO Ace or directly go for the R3. I am also not sure what is the difference of different PSN, is it only about the free games of what the different region provides?

Argh why does this has to be so complicated LOL.
*
I will just sum it up the best I could... hope I dont confuse you more...

1. JP PSN:
-All JP titles, up to date with latest games, many free/paid special DLCs; many demos; many mini games; many archive psp/psone games; Playstation Mobile games are available, free or paid.
-BUT non-JP credit card is rejected 99% of the time, thus more expensive. An isolated community, don't like to game with players from other region except for Dragon Crown the only game I knew of that you can see japanese players outside of JP PSN... perhaps some fighting games??

2. US PSN:
-All EN titles, period... Credit cards may or may not work rolleyes.gif ... expensive bcos of conversion but then nah, sometimes they will do promotion where you can get free PSN points...
-BUT you can't get JP titles or of other languages...

3. Asia PSN:
-A messy, rojak PSN... There are sub PSN like HK, MY, SG etc...
HK is the HQ and has the most contents. They get JP and EN titles, but not all the time... pricing is subjective and different among sub PSN but definitely cheaper than JP PSN...
-BUT there are times they just don't release games you want... and some sub PSN may not release a game that is released in HK PSN... Chance forced to swap account is high with this Asian PSN... Worse experience? They may release the game but not necessary the extra DLC, you're screwed if you own digital copy in this situation... So if you choose R3 PSN? NEVER EVER GET Digital content from them!
So in the end, not getting digital copy, then the difference of PSN is the DLCs/demos, languages and misc. mini games...
You care about DLCs? Well, R2 games sticks to R2 PSN, R1 games sticks to R1 PSN, R3 games? Nah, as long as it's not digital, you are fine with the other two except korean/chinese version...

The general bad things for using Sony PSN... don't bother with Customer service...
JP, you don't speak japanese, why bother? Their service is definitely there, but don't know if they will/can read english...
US, you know you're not supposed to be in their PSN if you're not US residents, why bother? Well, at least their service is there
Asia? EFF these guys, they don't really care about your complaints most of the times... I seriously doubt they have customer service...
So yeah, that's Sony today...

Hi, guys,
With the pathetic RM to USD rate now, purchasing games from Playasia is no longer favorable for me...
Need to look for alternative local stores that carries R2 Vita games in Klang Valley, do you guys know of any?
Thanks in advance!

by Sony means first party, that is the game studios by Sony itself. Bandai Namco, Koei Temco, Compile Heart, Square Enix and etc those are 3rd party studios.
there are still support from 3rd party studios but not 1st party studios.
*
And just no AAA title for vita, only side projects from those well known 3rd party...
It's still Sony's own fault to have coming to this...

On the other hand, even with the support of big 3rd party developers, there are also some games just not gonna make it into the company project listing, this one is not Sony's problem...
Luckily, we have kickstarter projects to deal with that, something like Mighty #9 and bloodstained, the spiritual incarnation of mega man and castlevania thumbup.gif

so no activation code like pc game right?
vita cart can be used multiple times?

ps vita has like smartphone ORi & AP warrnty?   or all vita is Ori warranty?
*
no activation code but sometimes vita require you to activate/deactivate the game when it detected the game was played on different account than your current one... but it's no big deal, just take a min or two to go through the hassle.

as long as cart isn't damaged, it should b fine, but note that some games especially those with online gamin' feature comes with online pass that cannot be re-used if it has been used by previous owner or was expired, then u have to buy the pass online in order to play it online... if you care about dlc, you should pay attention to the region the game associated with (though vita is region free). eg. playing R1 cart on Japanese account, you won't find dlc or update content available...

New vita should have original manufacturer warranty (some sellers do assist you), while u have to confirm and ask for one if you buy refurbished or pre-owned units from seller.

good luck finding one & also hope that it works, pal...
