hi guys. been trying to update my dhd to the official OTA 2.3.5 update with sense 3.0...but it keeps telling that the file is corrupted each time i've downloaded it...5 times already! help anyone?

yup same here..i prefer sense rather than AOSP coz of navigation

Hi guys, need some help here. I've been using few custom rom for a year currently using the latest Revolution HD 6.3.1 by Mike1986. The speed is the best i used.. smooth like butter, only one issue make me wanted to change phone.. seriously i do.

The issue i'm facing with all the custom rom is the battery drain issue, 4 hours max everyday after full charge. I know is very subjective on how individual usage, i can plug cable and charge it in the office but once during weekend my phone shut down after 3-4 hours without chance to charge.. so i end up without phone to use for the rest of the day. (if i didn't carry my second batt)

I need help and wonder anyone can give me some advice... or maybe back to stock rom will help? I'm not sure.

I've been comparing iphone4s tht my friend having with the simmilar usage.. (i'm a iPhone user as well before i switch to Android) damn, when i'm 30% left and he still having 80-90%. What is did is only few check on FACEBOOK aps, Whatsapp for few time and browse net for less than half an hour.. i can finished 30-40% just doing that. And also 2 email account auto sync behind every 2 hours.

I'm carry 2 batt with me but do tell me 4 hours max usage is normal... coz i doubt it really.

Any advice from here or PM will help?

^ definitely not normal. I'm not on original battery. using yoobao now and I still get more than 1 day of usage.

definitely something wrong with your rom, battery or phone.

maybe try clean reflash again?

hmm..what i can say is we are on the same boat b4 i have the same problem as urs...here are some of the troubleshoot ways and a few steps/questions
1-did u calibrate ur battery ever b4?
2-did u flashed the recommended radio?and RIL?
3-do u restore all ur apps and data using 3rd party app like titanium backup?
4-ur brightness setting..izzit on auto brightness/or manual with not more than 30% is the best setting.
5-try to set ur sync to 4 hours instead of 2 hours
6-have u been loggin in to htcsense.com?try to logout coz i don think its really got any use.its not like u bring ur lappy or have a connection all the time when ur phone is lost
7-did u really 'fully charged' ur phone b4 unplugged-fully charged means u must get 0mAh on the current widget
8-try to change to another custom rom.i tried alot i mean really ALOT until i got the one that really have battery savvy..try to use for a week max to see the battery performance b4 switching to another rom.i found mine RCmix3D is the most battery savvy.

btw my battery can last at least 16hours with DATA on 24/7 never on wifi,with 2 emails sync every 4hours,whatsapp ALOT,FB whoring,twitter,surfing the net....and my phone is a year old already

P/s-there are a thread in xda actually teach how to have a brilliant battery life and it really works. well this is all i can share for now hope this work out...btw don compare idroid with ios ya its 2 different platform / dev

Thanks for your reply, yes i did the clean wipe off including rom, batt cache and apps. Plus i have tested and recalibrate my batt.. feel like millions time try tht on every New Rom for this issue.

I'm so happy to know tht your DHD can last such long hour!
Only 2 thing need to check with you... from your question.

Q : Which Radio and RIL you on now?

Q : Shall reinstall the apps from Market again or from TataniumB.?

what you can do is, try clean ROM install. calibrate battery. dont restore anything from backup first. download clean install for your apps (fb, whatsapp, twitter n etc) from market. use for few days and monitor.

if it's okay, means something u're restoring from titanium backup is causing cpu to run like crazy. effectively sucking your battery.

has anyone here receive a "system update" ??

for number 2-u can check at my siggy thats my latest radio im using
u can actually find everything in HERE

as for number 3-i never backup/restore any apps using titanium back up or others i just redownload everything from the market.as for sms u can try using "sms backup and restore" i has a function to auto backup schedule u like

and u might need to just download the basic apps such as FB,whatsapp,twitter,and try to monitor ur usage after u calibrated ur battery(actually i am using battery calibration download from market) then try to charged til 0mAh b4 unplugged...after that try to use ur phone with those basic apps for a few days n see then only u start to download other apps after everything is stable.... welll good luck and dont hesitate to post here to ask for help i m sure everybody here will be glad to lend a helping hand especially our TS fisherman10

Added on January 8, 2012, 12:43 ami think u r reffering to the latest FOTA that contains sense 3.0....if yes then yup there are a few members thats on stock rom already updated their phone.as for me i dont think i will receive any system update as i am on custom rom...

Maybe some apps is hogging the system and the system is not in deep sleep? Try check your log using currentwidget. Or a bad flash maybe? 4 hours of usage is very abnormal. I can easily touch 2 days in minimum usage and 1 days with moderate usage.

Guys,currently i am using the MUIU_ACE rom.. do i need to change / update the RIL as well? it says only for Sense Based roms.

its for sense only... then no need to update la...

navigation it real make me back to ARHD !

but i remember last time MIUI are work with navigation but now it's does nt work

well i've been on miui a few months back but doesnt really like it so goes back to sense after 2 days of flashing...hahai guess i am a 'sense' type of person...lol he only thing i like about miui is the lock screen but i have get over that with rcmix coz it can change the lock screen

but what i miss MIUI is the USB TETHERING .

MIUI want , when on it direct on .

ARHD need click a few round because sometime when click tethering it change back charge only ... that real sux

Your friend's DHD when he bought it got custom rom is it ...? He need to downgrade and S-ON his phone back.


You can flash G-Ril, not H-Ril.. H-Ril is for Sense rom.
