Wanna ask... my iPhone 3GS still have that Digi easy pay install thing until July 2012. If I get 4S, then have to pay for that AND the old 3GS?  rclxub.gif  no way to migrate the plan?
*
You mean instalment for the device? or their call/data plan?

If you mean call/data plan maybe you can extend your contract and switch to the new idata plan.

If it is instalment payment for the device itself you got no choice but to continue paying till July 2012.

I saw one of the good casing deal in Groupon today.
http://www.groupon.my/deals/national-deal/...345&a=715827970

This should be one of the best battery casing for iPhone 4 or 4S
*
Very good deal IMO. I've seen quite a lot of positive feedback for this.

But you still can't buy it outright so no point. In fact I doubt you will be able to buy it outright from any Telco since the MY online Apple store will be selling it beginning 16th December.

I think we might be able to buy outright on launch date without signing up a plan on the launch but limted to 1 unit anyhow
*
Very slim chance dude. After launch probably, during launch, almost definitely not.

Besides the phone would be available for purchase outright from the MY online Apple store as well starting the 16th.

Hi fellas, would just like to share a bit on the yellowgate issue. Seems there are 3 kinds of screen colour tones so far reported for the iPhone 4S. Please do not remind me that 2 of those are iPhone 4 and only one is a 4S. Its not easy to assemble 3 iPhone 4S with differing screen tints like this together =.= But they did a poll on Macrumors (took this pic from there) on which colour tones of 4S screens did they get and there has been owners for all kinds with the yellowest of tints the highest. Here is a picture for reference of the different kinds of tints. Seems its a common so-called "issue" which was caused by Apple engaging more than 2 screen manufacturers to satisfy the demand for units. 2 that I know of are LG and Samsung.

Right and middle ones are acceptable but NOT the one to the right.

To me the middle one (just my personal preference though) looks the nicest with the left slightly more bluish than normal and the one to the right...piss yellow....

So guys, recommended to unseal and make sure you check your screens when you get your phone. (On full brightness and off auto brightness).

I've got my second attempts to replace the phone, still yellow! Btw, seems like the problem existence, and the chances of getting the yellowish screen is pretty high, some people have even replaced for 4 to 5 times still remain the issue..just for sharing
*
But how yellow is your yellow? Yellow like the one to the most right of the picture? Because I think that looks just bad....

If its like the middle one then its acceptable and in my opinion looks the nicest.

Yep it is, as time passes the glue will dry, then the issue will go away. Same goes to the iPad 2 earlier this year.
*
Btw one method to make the glue dry faster, on the iPhone at full brightness and put auto lock to "Never" and leave it on for as long as you like while connected charging. This will speed up the glue drying process.

Exactly like the last one, some got even worse!! It's really horrible to look at it, well, I have to wait for new stock coming b4 I travell bak to sg to replace again. Sigh! This is a major problem, so I hope u guys don't get too excited for getting your new phone this week
*
Probably its due to the glue? Try and speed up the glue drying process.

Try this:

1. On brightness to full and turn off auto brightness
2. Plug your phone and charge
3. Change auto lock to "Never"
4. Leave it on for 2 or 3 hours
5. Check if there is a difference

I've seen some users who did this to speed up the glue drying and have reported a huge improvement on their screen colour tone

Did you try that for your 4S? Any changes?
*
I've never tried that method but I've seen people who have and mentioned they see huge improvements.

From the pics I've posted, it looks like the one on the right when I purchased. But not as bad.

Had my phone for close to two weeks and its now like the middle or slightly clearer. By the time I read about the fix my phone screen was already much better. nod.gif

U tell them put on side by side the ip4 and 4s, u definitely can see the difference! Just my own experience and the complaints all over the web,
Btw this is my second ip4s
*
Hmm really that bad? probably you can try post a pic? Of full brightness on with auto brightness off. Then open a blank web page. Compare with mine.

Mine seems more like the one in the middle so I think my 4S isn't affected by it. Compared to my 3GS, it's significantly warmer. But to be honest, the warm screen is more pleasing to the eye than the cool blueish one on my 3GS.
*
Yes mine is also like the middle if not slightly clearer. My iPhone 4 is more to the left side.

I don't even game, just facebook, twitter and whatsapp with some calls and SMS and it doesn't even last 24 hours. My 3G is left on at all times though.

Maybe you should return it and get a new one. I only charge my phone every 1.5-2 days. I play games (non-3d ones), facebook, whatsapp, web browsing and calls and SMS. There's either a problem with your phone battery or 3G is the issue. I turn my cellular data off most of the time. What iOS are you on? 5 or 5.0.1?
*
Hmm by 3G I meant Cellular Data. I leave it on at all times and my location services is also on at all times. Prefer to be connected all the time hehe especially as if cellular data is off I can't receive any Whatsapp messages till its turned on again.

On 5.0.1.

So i believe its a worth the upgrade
*
I'm on 5.0.1 and I still feel its worst than the 4. Btw Apple did release a statement saying 5.0.1 is not a battery fix.

I don't think Celcom is cheapest. Celcom only gives 100 mins of talk time even on RM98 a month that is only like RM15 worth of talk time and at 15 sen a minute you gonna be paying way more than 98 a month man.

FYI maxis gives you RM49.95 of talk time at 15 cent a min aka 333 mins for RM100.

Celcom gives you 2 GB though. With Maxis 1 GB

Phone price more or less the same.

So choose what you want, more talk time or more data.

Go for Maxis!! now all of us need DATA more than call..Agree?
*
For me I will take Maxis. I'm working. Inevitably I will have to call clients, managers, bosses etc.

RM15 is super damn little for Celcom. You are going to end up paying way way more than RM98, well for those in my shoes.

According to Maxis, idata plans will be available but they may only announce it last minute or at the launch event due to "competitor marketing strategy".

Since Celcom has now officially publish their plans, the yellow man will be busy working on spoiling the market tomorrow as all 3 telco's has finally reveal their plan and maxis is famous for last minute sudden updates.
*
Unlikely to change IMO. For me Maxis plans still look the best. Well to me anyway.

Celcom definitely better for:

-gf and bf
-wife and husband
-spouses
-among family members

- if you are in the above groups
- everyone is using iPhone
- most of your call in within that group

I don’t see you would want to choose anything else except Celcom. Free 100 hours (6000 mins) – celcom to celcom

Maxis only free local calls and sms to family lines (900 mins (15 hours) and 1500 sms SHARED
Also remember this is within principal (iValue) and supplementary (family plus).
You need principal to contract iPhone. In this case principal (iValue) and principle (iValue) NO FREE CALL -  this in not between family lines.

Plus no bill shock for SIRI
*
That is only the case if your wifee, husband,gf,bf or whatever uses celcom as well and users of Celcom are so few. I don't even have a regular contact who is using Celcom

Just share with you guys I am using iValue 1 since iPhone 4 last year. My bill goes up to around RM130 a month. This includes offnet SMS. I use more than 333 mins a month and the most I have gone to is 700 MB.

If my usage is on Celcom i98. I'll take the base difference of 333 mins minus Celcom free 100 mins la lets say. 233 extra mins x 0.15 is RM34.95. My monthly bill is already RM132.95. This is not counting the offnet sms and those extra mins I use more than 333 mins!

For me, call time > data. At least in terms of data usage you can regulate yourself and limit yourself and such. For call time you can't. If you have to call means you have to call. Don't tell me in emergency situations you are going to whatsapp and hope the recipient sees it. Well unless you are calling to a fellow Celcom dude then this does not apply. Then again celcom user base is really small.

For those who do not have many Celcom contacts....don't be fooled by the excessive amounts of data offered. But if you have many friends or contacts using Celcom, fair enough, Celcom plans are best for you.
