Accuracy counts in Malaysian Armed forces doctrine i guess.
I recalled that there is one case. An AK-47 use by crooks.

G36c seems a fine choice, but why the entire armed forces opted for M4 instead of this.

Much prefer IMI/IWI X95 aka Tavor 2.

Of course it coming from yahudiland means we'll never see it locally. But damn, that is one sexy bullpup.

M4 is being replace in the US, maybe got discount?

or maybe just to please our US masters

The M16/M4 is going to be around for a while.
US still haven't figured out what the M16/M4 replacement will be despite spending billions of dollars in time/money looking for a replacement.
Rifles like the HK416 got favorable reviews (basically you can replace M4 upper receiver with HK416 upper receiver and voila! new improved weapon!) but word has it that Colt used "behind-the-scenes" power to stop the evaluation.
Some US units have already started using the HK416.

QUOTE(atreyuangel @ May 6 2012, 11:43 PM)
Well the JMF are using SAR21!

Maybe in near future there will be replacement of AUG for Efos and Navy,
and by the last visit to Beretta, I'm kind fond into ARX160 after being thoroughly brief by their reps!

Johor is not part of SG? whistling.gif
Apart from SG and Johor only Brunei is using SAR.

Got to fire some blanks with it in a "capture the flag" challenge, very manageable recoil; pity the sights opening a bit small. Heavier than M4/M16 but seems better balanced.
Still me thinks they can shrink and lighten it even further.

Maybe Israelis are generally larger than Asians but should be possible to get it down to tavor-2 size.
SAF CDOs equipped with the super light and compact P90.

US special force dumped m4/m16 for scar/hk416.

QUOTE
In July 2007 the US Army announced a limited competition between the M4 carbine, FN SCAR, HK416, XCR, and the previously-shelved HK XM8. Ten examples of each of the four competitors were involved. Each weapon fired 6,000 rounds in an "extreme dust environment". The purpose of the shoot-off was for assessing future needs, not to select a replacement for the M4.[7][8] The XM8 scored the best, with only 127 stoppages in 60,000 total rounds, the FN SCAR Light had 226 stoppages, while the HK416 had 233 stoppages. The M4 carbine scored "significantly worse" than the rest of the field with 882 stoppages.[1]

Wonder why we never acquired these babies instead since the Germans and Dutch were selling excess tanks from Cold War era.
