like I said, if there is a radar that capable to detect it.
CIWS is the essential weapon to defend the ship even from upcoming supersonic cruise missile coming towards the ship.

those major cannon shell is just pure brute force.
slammed into your ship punch a huge hole. most of the modern ship just cant take such heavy hit. however accuracy and range is da down fall. Anyway there only possible way to counter such things possibly you slam those shell with another missile. ASM is very accurate but it can be counter easily unless you spam it with mass amount of ASM. or it was already too late when the when you detected it. |

that what I said a good radar in the future can utilize CIWS to make the aiming proper,
it is much more smaller then a missile and it also make it more agile and have no signature what so ever to be tracked |

QUOTE Russia Pulls Out of Indonesian Rocket System Tender Russia’s arms trading company Rosoboronexport has pulled out of an Indonesian tender for the supply of multiple launch rocket systems, the company told Military Industrial Courier magazine. The company pulled out because it had offered its Smerch rocket launcher system which “did not meet a range of technical conditions in the tender,” Rosoboronexport official Nikolai Dimidyuk said. The Indonesian tender was released in February. “No one wants to waste time, or lead partners into delusion,” he said. “That said, we remain of the opinion that this system fully meets the requirements of the Indonesian forces in the most important criteria, fighting effectiveness,” he said. Rosoboronexport did not say in which criteria Smerch failed to meet Indonesian requirements. Russia had offered a 22-ton variant of the Smerch system, but a more widely-sold variant weighs 48 tons. Indonesia is a traditional Russian and Soviet arms customer and at present has contracts with Russia for delivery of Su-27SKM fighter aircraft, Mi-17 and Mi-35 military helicopters, and BMP-3 and BTR-80 infantry fighting vehicles. sosej |

QUOTE(stinger82 @ May 4 2012, 08:32 AM) since this is a military thread, any one have any miltary game to recommend? Flight sims are still good. X-plane and FS9 have good military add-ons. Also check out stuff like Level-D, PMDG, JustFlight etc for more realism. used to play flight simulator, but after 911 seems like this kind of game is no longer encourage. anything else other than modern warfare? any strategy game ? yes, even mil enthusiast also need some gaming life America's Army, ARMA2 & Operation Flash Point:Dragon Rising are alright if you play multiplayer. But not much realism, even if compared to paint ball. However since you mentioned flight sims, the undisputed king is still Falcon 4.0 (with mods) and anything from the DCS series. If you're a hardcore cold war fan, SAMSIM will be a definite hit ! |
