QUOTE(winkiedilwy @ Dec 18 2011, 10:46 PM) Hi guys, i'm back again, with lots of questions. Hope you guys won't mind so much. 1. Major problem: BATTERY WON'T LAST LONG! (Yes I've followed Samsung's instructions to drain the battery first before charging for 8 hours long). Listening to music thru earphones for 2 hours only used 3% of battery, but other's, wow. No comment cos not enough info. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 2. You know those background running apps? I got a appkiller and with that app, i found out that all the apps are popping up secretly. And after i killed them, they kept on started to run secretly (even the samsung app killer doesn't show them). » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Hey, any ideas how to stop them? Never had a need nor used task killer and dun recommend it. 3. z4root won't work? i tried both temporary and permanent root but nothing happened? You wanna root, use custom kernel. Its the easiest way 4. Do I need an SD card for this phone? Only you know the answer to this cos its up to the user. 5. This phones hanged twice, i mean, REALLY HANG. My phone never hang unless i am playing with kernel. What were you doing while it hang? More info la. 6. GPS software for this device? (e.g. PAPAGO)? Papago, sygic, gmap etc. again up to u. 7. Where to get cheap and nice accessories for this phone? (Speaker dock, portable battery, etc.) Samsung store.. 8. Will you spend RM88 for a silicone case and RM188 for a flip pouch for this phone? My phone is mostly naked accept i am at work. Awaiting for your reply. (it's rather long, sry about that, try to remove the images in my quote) THANKS IN ADVANCE! |

QUOTE(reijikageyama @ Dec 18 2011, 10:55 PM) yeah, Abyss.. What was your problem again ah? Phone cannot wakeup? Its usually cos by too much UV or too low CPU speed used. Like i said dun use sleep profile, it is more troublesome and dun save you anything noticeable.currently using conservative with min 200000 and max 1200000 previously was on savagedZen with same voltage freqs |

QUOTE(winkiedilwy @ Dec 18 2011, 11:03 PM) okay then how you guys do preserve the battery life and make it longer and prevent background apps by running without even launching it? 1) Exit apps properly2) Some services/app need to run and will continue to do so even after you kill it. So stop killing them. 3) Most of the time these apps do not add to your batt drain unless its a rogue app causing wakelock. All they do is consume your ram which you have plenty 4) If you dun like an app showing up just uninstall it. |

QUOTE(senbonzakura123 @ Dec 19 2011, 02:30 AM) hi all sifu, im thinking to try villain ROM, any info/advice on this ROM, currently on sensation, quite satisfied but no BLN for this ROM, Isn't BLN related to kernel. If you just want BLN then get a kernel that supports BLN and of cos get the app from market as well. There is no need to change rom just for BLN.Thanks, |

QUOTE(nobody#2 @ Dec 19 2011, 10:32 AM) hi, may I know have how many type of the Original Samsung Extended Battery for this Galaxy S2.. Thanks.. Ori only 1 type 2000mah extended batt.Added on December 19, 2011, 10:38 am QUOTE(Matrix @ Dec 19 2011, 09:59 AM) Need some advice on the GPS. Just installed PAPAGO X5 on the SGS2 and tested it yesterday on the road. I found that for some reason, the GPS seems to lose signal easily. Tested with GPS Status and another GPS software for the signal. Never lost signal before with Papago and my GPS locks within secs with aGPS. GPS is great on SGS2. When i use PAPAGO, driving on the highway, sometimes, the PAPAGO will freeze for a while (i suspect it lost the GPS) and won't move, sometime later when it picked up the signal again, it'll jump to the current location and proceed. I don't have such problem with my old HTC Desire... Samsung phones seems like having a lot of GPS issue (including the original Galaxy S ...)...anyone have solution or similar experience? But i have heard of papago problem (freezing or exited on its own) especially pirated ones. This post has been edited by antt00: Dec 19 2011, 10:38 AM |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Dec 19 2011, 11:40 AM) Really i thought they just want to move on to Papago X8.5 and wanted to stop support for older version. Thus asking MFM to do so as well. MFM is still making maps for X8.5.Added on December 19, 2011, 11:47 am QUOTE(dannykhoo17 @ Dec 19 2011, 11:43 AM) Is it fast or slow immediately after reboot and after media scan? This post has been edited by antt00: Dec 19 2011, 11:47 AM |

QUOTE(Slekerz @ Dec 19 2011, 02:51 PM) There are comments on XDA and also on custom rom that are using this as base rom. Basically it still sucks and not to be used as everyday rom. Basic function are there but camera FC most of the time and extremely slow media scanning causing lags here and there. I have not tried it but this was what people commented. |
