Im still using vegaics alpha 3 update 2...IMO it's stable enuf for me and d speed is much better than old chimera...if u dun mind d wifi/sleep prob and stock browser not responding after a few min...this is d best rom overall. it runs all d apps/games im using right now...and that's d most important thing. BTW...im still yet to try vegaics beta1, vegaics speed patched and latest chimera due to being busy this month. maybe u or other users care to do basic review of those roms...

hi to all sifus... i need some help and opinion regarding wifi...
firstly when i bought the viewpad i manage to flash to VegaComb 3.2 Build9n update 3...
i was smooth and fine everything working...

but now i have some problem... it wont connect to the wifi connection,
i tried reboot and all still the same sometime it take too long showing "turning on" and then it showed "error" everytime... i tried to wipe all the data and cache and it work for a while then the problem occur again until now already too long it wont connect to wifi...

after reading all 30 pages, i already reflash to original viewpad rom v1.11 still the same... and i even tried HoneyIce 3.2.7b RC2 Vintage Edition... the wifi still wont connect.... please help

did u try connect to other wifi routers? maybe ur router needs reboot and reset ur SSID and use other security like WEP/WAP etc. u can also try to flash to honey ice chimera update.exe or vegaics beta1 and try to connect manually by adding ur wifi router's SSID/password. If all failed...u can try this method....boot to CWM....do full wipe (2~3 times)...and in advance menu...choose to format internal memory and shutdown. and nvflash again using ur prefered rom. i think u've already done everything u can do. d only course of action is to flash to stock froyo rom and claim warranty. i think u can find d address of viewsonic SC posted by tiong somewhere in this thread.

touchscreen sent for repair at fdc service ctr in klang. after 1 hr ready for collection. To my dismay, they only flashed to stockrom and said nothing's wrong. dismayed and disappointed for not having hardware fix, went back home and started using it froze again. tried installed few roms same thing happen.
my point is why didnt they fix as required because if flashing to stockrom, I could do it myself instead of driving 50 km 1 way. then there's the issue of warranty void as i've opened up the casing b4 but that's bcos back button sank in and power button couldnt be switched off. they didnt charged me today but follow up repairs wl be charged ie fixing mainboard is abt rm600 - rm900. after some persuasion, maybe wl be charge 150. can you believe it? Nothing repaired and they considered free repair today. might as well throw and buy new if its few hundred just to repair..
this is not doing viewsonic any good. anyway, good customer service from vicki the front reception.

I am now running P10 20110411 courtesy of alexzhou at modaco. Everything's fine eventhough froyo but nevermind. Pls explain to me how to install market as I've tried all method including from p26 but still failed. Pls help.

EDIT: After using the test rom for few hours no problem. I used up the battery til almost zero (1st time ever done that) then Reflash HI Chimera and til now works fine. It seemed have to clear off battery stats after sometime as that's the only reason why everything jammed up.

seems that I've done all I could but it still wont connect... I even set my phone to tethering mode and still would detect and auto turn off the wifi by it self after popping "unable to scan for network" message...
the main point is the viewpad wont event connect in the stock rom froyo 2.2...

i guess my last option to bring it to the SC... thanks again for all your tips bro

sifu's... Where can i get a replacement lcd screen for viewpad 10s.... It seems, sis charge me rm430 to replace it... Sigh... Bought the unit at rm550.

maybe u have d so called bad memory (nand) blocks since stock rom uses different system partition size than HI rom. u can check by installing terminal emulator from market/play....then type dmesg | grep bad . i got 1 bad block . maybe u can try installing other roms or older versions of HI. Or...u can try corvus5 rom...or if brave enuf...can try d latest Cyanogen based on ginger 2.3 rom from http://www.tabletroms.com/forums/vega-rom-...-available.html.

That's because google's market is not pre-installed.

yup...u got 2 bad mem blocks....those r mem addresses/locations in hexa. in some locations...it can effect d behavior of ur tablet. some people tried multiple times when installing roms. u just have to do trial and error to find which rom runs stable on ur tablet. I suggest u install moddedstockv2+vegacomb 3.2 update 9n+honey ice beta or vintage(repeat this 2~3 times) thru cwm. some people had reported success by install thru cwm multiple times on tablets with bad mem.

at first i saw was google market...then after i turn on wifi it become google play now...
then i try to search for facebook for android and whatsapp totally cannot find...
search using browser stated not compatible...LOL...

well...i think u should try HoneyIce 3.2.7 RC3 Chimera Edition(Updated)...everything works from BT, wifi, 3g to HDMI....no sleep problem...just market/play problem during 1st boot...but it's fixable if u read d official thread Here. gud luck .

Whatsapp is not supported i think...but u can always try finding d apk from google.

Can someone pls explain why market couldnt be updated for mine with stock rom? really intend to try out for few days on stock to see how it behaves. I've tried multiple times by copying to sd card, then software update in settings then it will restart with the android and unboxing picture and nothing more. Puzzled!
