Hi Ayil,

I m newbie and just bought the torch 9800, Just now i install BBDM in my laptop try to update my OS. But when it ran it halfway untill connect to JVM, it have the msg pop up and tell me "application loader cannot connect to the device, so i only can cancel the whole process. But after that, my BB cannot open any more. it always stuck at the " No battery Signal" screen.

So i try to search the internet to looking the solution like:go to open the loader.exe--> delete the vendor.xml file in apploader folder--> plug out the battery--> plug in the cable from BB to PC--> loader will show :USB:UNKNOWN-->Click next-->the next screen told me 1) the software doesnt install. 2) The BBDM doesnt install. I have already install above of them but i still cant fix it.

May i know what is the problem?

Bold 3 using OS 5..?

AFAIK , Bold 3 stock OS is OS6 ,..

if there is an update, it will update to the latest software that provided by the service provider.. so, you will get the latest OS [OS6] , if it is available..

bro, follow alternative's step number 2 smile.gif
QUOTE
You can do an update without an active subscription by doing a "stealth" OS reload.

Delete the Vendor.xml file located at c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

Run Loader.exe from that directory.

Pull the battery from your device, and put it back in. Plug in the BB and IMMEDIATELY click the "next" button - here's where you want to make sure the port shows USB: UNKNOWN.

If it shows the PIN, you were too slow. Try again.

Basically, you're loading an OS from the bottom up. There is no "backup/restore" available for this. You'll lose everything on the device.

But it will work.
