Ha!?? I told my membership consultant that I am not interested in Body First as I don't like the idea parking my money in someone else account and they just took it away....

Anyway, if not mistaken, we need to attend the gym for XX numbers of time within a month, otherwise, they may forfeit our rebates...
*
Same case here. I opted out of Body First because it felt like too expensive to commit at that time even though it can be returned in future.

had been with FF for 10months.

home access with menara axis.

everything is ACCEPTABLE and up on par.
no suprise...

staff is friendly, equipment is clean n not too old. locker room is clean. jus the gym might smell a bit during peak hours.

one thing im not satisfied with FF, is the compulsory body first package which is so called compulsory and included when you join the gym. the so called fee is suppose to be rebated once you meet certain criteria. which is jus ridiculous.

i certainly did take note on the criterias, and met them, fill up the form for the rebate. but the rebate js never came back. i had look for them for a few times. and the jus push me off with stupid excuses.

anyway, all gym is purely money-suckers if you're not kful.
*
One thing that I am not happy with FF menara axis is the rubber grips on the pull up machine seem to be torn... but that is the least of my worries.

old gym mah...what to do?

I prefer Paradigm mall and 1 MK.
*
I have never been to 1 MK... so I can't say for sure.

So far I have visited the branches at Menara Axis, Empire Subang, Summit USJ, Paradigm Mall and The Curve.

Very happy with Empire Subang, Paradigm Mall and The Curve, probably because of the time I arrive (God damn early), so the free weights area is usually empty. I only go to these branches on weekends. On weekdays I go to Menara Axis.

Summit USJ's free weights area is pretty cramped... big studio for classes though.

need to attend the total 3 times pt session within 1st month, and total present at the gym total 8times within 2months

i've actually met all the criterias. and fill up the damn form as well.

then they told me the so called rebate will be in my membership account, and treated as a advance payment for my monthly membership fee, since they dont give cash rebates.

but i tot i could skip 1month payment again and again, until i still keep seeing they billed me every month on my credit card. and when i asked about the advance payments that i made. they said i dont have any. and they changed and said the rebate was never done.

10months down the road, they push me here and ther. and the issue was never solved.  rclxub.gif

2more months contract.

but will probably negotiate to proceed without bond

since if i change to other gym. will incur other cost like joining fee / processing fee + another year bond.
*
I think, in your case, if proceed from the 13th month onwards, no bond. Try asking the membership consultant.

Threaten only... doesn't mean u will really cancel tongue.gif Throw the ball in their court and see what they do. Scare tactics.

Hahahaha okay, if I ever go KL I'll drop you a PM. If you go PJ just let me know. I'm planning to drop by Axis tomorrow after work, hopefully it isn't too bad. It'll be my first time @ Axis.
*
I'm a regular at Axis, as I work near there. Always full at 7-ish, especially free weights area. Be prepared!

I'm going there for a class ^____^ so it's okay, but will probably do some workout at the freestyle area afterwards.  doh.gif I'll definitely be late... class starts at 6.45pm and outright impossible for me to reach there before 7pm with the jam.

Btw is there are any specific area I should park so that it's nearer to FF? I was told to park anywhere, take lift up to C (concourse) and I'll reach.
*
Enter Menara Axis (take ticket), drive on until you see the SECOND entrance to the carpark. Enter and go DOWN to basement. Drive around and find an opening to the next building. There should be many spots there. There is only one lift (at Menara Axis basement). Take that one and go to C.

The first carpark entrance lets you go up, which is troublesome (for me), as you may have to transit. The one I mentioned earlier gets you straight to FF.

Both carpark entrances are on your right, so do watch out.

OMG so complicated *panicking* is there any sign/ marking near the 'next building' parking for me to recognize? Btw why next building? Isn't FF inside Axis itself? The basement is just 'B' no B1 or B2...?
*
Haha I hope I am not scaring you off. At the basement there are only two areas. One for Axis, the other for the next building. Once you enter the basement, you will see it. But remember, enter through the SECOND carpark entrance. The first one brings you up (1st floor onwards) and it is extremely hard to find parking there.

I asked you to park at the next building because Axis is usually full, or fully reserved. Basement is B1. No need to go B2...

Aaaaah okay, thanks for the clarification. But when I park in the next building, it will bring me directly to FF right? And one last question, is the parking there safe/ okay? I understand all parking areas are not 'safe' but at least it isn't dark, very quiet and creepy? I'm hoping that there's at least some guards around, brightly lit, CCTV, some minor traffic in the carpark (people getting their car, leaving, entering the building etc).

Thanks a lot, you've been a great help smile.gif
*
When you descend into the basement from the carpark entrance, the lift is just in front of you.

After you parked your car, walk back to the lift. Don't park too far...

The place is fairly lit. Not sure if there are CCTV cameras... Sometimes there are guards patrolling the area.

I was there yesterday... thanks a lot for the tips on where to park. But hmmm the basement is kinda eerie... a lot of machines but pretty old ya? The GX class is quite small too, making is pretty cramped and stuffy. I was told that Axis is the second FF built in Malaysia (the first outlet being Manulife)... if that's the case, not surprised that the facilities is a little old, even so, seems like they did a pretty decent job maintaining the place biggrin.gif
*
Good on you for finding the basement! My first two tries I didn't find it. :|

Yes, I agree with the creepy basement comment. I usually go with a gym buddy so I don't walk there alone.

The machines there are old... once the assisted pullup machine had a knob missing LOL.

sweat.gif I was hesitating a lot - this one? that one? go in? lift? lol. Luckily my friend arrived earlier and I called him up (sent him the info you provided me in the forum) to double check before I enter.

Yeah the pantry area looks like cafe style and pretty small too. But I guess decent enough to visit again for special class biggrin.gif yoga and rpm room very spacious though!
*
Yeah! The yoga room is very spacious! One day, I'll be in there doing Sun Salutations.

Regarding the Platinum membership,

Lets say if im based at FF Empire, then i wanna work out at Mont Kiara just for today. Do i need to register or anything? Or platinum membership lets you access all the outlets at any time?
*
yes, you can.

Fitness First Subang Empire moved the machines around to make way for a large open area for functional training. Not sure if I like the change as the space is now quite cramped.

Really? When did this happen?

Btw I wanna ask - if I go Empire FF early (8am) before Mall opens, where should I park and enter the lift to get to FF directly?
*
Hi there! It happened a few months ago.

If you wanna go to Empire early, I suggest to park at B1, near the hotel entrance. You should see a MyNews.com outlet. Walk your way up to Madam Kwan. I don't have a better suggestion, really. I'll check it out tomorrow morning (going at 6).

If anyone can give a suggestion I will be grateful.

Can enter the mall at that time? Just worried they haven't allow access to the mall since not 10am yet cry.gif no direct lift at carpark up to FF? Wah you're going at 6am? So early!
*
Sure can enter.

There is a direct lift at B2 (SOHO Lift) that goes straight to level 8 (FF), but I'm not sure if you use it before the mall opens.

I am going at 630am actually... heheh. Less people, more machines for me!!!!!!!!! haha

Oh you went Empire so early? lol so where's the nearest entrance to FF?  laugh.gif

Also, anyone know where to park in Curve if I wan go to the FF there? Nearest entrance biggrin.gif
*
In Empire I find it easy to park at B3, because there is an autopay machine there.

However, the SOHO lift doesn't stop at B3, you gotta descend one level of stairs to B4, then take the lift to level 8.

On the way back, just drop at B2, then walk one level of stairs down.

In The Curve, there is a lift right in front but I don't usually park in The Curve so I am unsure. I usually park at eCurve (the cinema there?), and walk through the street mart.

Eh... then meaning the SOHO lift doesn't stop at B1 or B2, only B4?  hmm.gif There's a lot of lift around Empire... is it the one near NEWS entrance?
*
Hmm. The SOHO lift doesn't stop at B3. Stops at B1,B2,B4.

The SOHO lift is located on your right, right after you pulled the ticket from the ticket machine entering the carpark.

Does anyone know whether Fitness First at Empire Subang Jaya offers daytime memberships?  What about their equipment; do they have individual weight machines and a rowing machine?  I thought I'd get some background information from you folks before trekking down there for the full sales pitch.
*
I think they have a Weekend Warrior package where you can enter from Friday evening to Sunday closing time. Can't remember the exact times. This package also has Platinum, Blue and Home types. The price varies. I don't think they have a daytime membership.

The gym has those Hammer Strength/Pure Strength machines. Yes there is a rowing machine.

Parking at Menara Axis at 7am is horribly expensive. I was charged RM5 one morning, never went back (in the morning). Anyone found a workaround?
