QUOTE(she3p @ Dec 7 2017, 11:31 AM) i wonder if CF members will be coming to FF too in the case of us able to access CF clubs... it's sad that axis will be closing... Considering FF members are paying more, I dont think so. Most likely FF will be like Platinum branches, and CF will be like normal branches.

The front desk staff at AK just informed me starting March, FF platinum members can add on RM15 to their monthly rate to be able to access Celebrity branches worldwide.
While I don't think I'll ever need to access other than Malaysian ones, I opt in anyway haha. Now I can literally drop by anywhere to workout.

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Feb 2 2018, 05:48 PM) Yep can ady, but for those who opted for this new membership, I think the AIA Vitality doesn't apply. Unless, undoubtly, you're not a Vitality member nor plan to join. Yeah I'm well protected in terms of insurance coverage lol.

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Feb 2 2018, 06:55 PM) You've misunderstood. AIA vitality is a "health" membership. They tie up with FF and offer rebate to membership, as well as quarterly cashback. Instead of paying RM200+ for membership each month (I'm a Platinum member), when I calculate the cashback in, each month is around RM120+. Previously they also offer redemption of Boost Juice OR TGV movie ticket x 1 when you achieve your bi-weekly target (workout at least 3x a week). Nowadays no more Boost Juice, they have changed the reward to RM10 worth of Grab ride. The membership card can get you 10% off your shopping in Jaya Grocer. Oh even better, 25% off FitBit device and 25% off Reebok apparel purchase. Not trying to promote them or what (their ad is everywhere when you enter the gym), but this is a really good program for regular FF gymmers. No reason to not go for it. You can always ask the front desk for more info. Ah I wasnt aware about this. Nvm I value moie gym to access rather than cashback. But will ask them to explain to me later lah. Thanks!

QUOTE(birdman8 @ Mar 22 2018, 08:44 PM) Any FF members who have already visited CF outlets?? Any interesting comparisons between both gyms which you can share here? Went to Quill CF. Their lounge area are not that comfy, no drinks too. And locker not as big as FF. Planning to try out CF Midvalley punya swimming pool soon.

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Mar 23 2018, 09:46 AM) I've been to CF MV and I'd say I still prefer FF any day. It's hard to tell you the difference, you'll understand when you take a look at both. You can always request to take a tour around. Yeah honestly even with dual membership I still mostly go to FF. Only bila FF is unavailable I'll go CF.

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Mar 25 2018, 07:01 PM) Target market is different. FF's fee is not cheap but their selling point is different. They target the upscale market who would not mind paying the higher fee in exchange for better service, facilities and workout. Not saying the other gyms are inferior in comparison, but if you've been to several gyms (FF, CF, Chi etc), you'll understand the difference and what FF is trying to promote. They are very serious in promoting their fitness team workout. You can see them organizing Spartan/ Viper training to help participants train up before the actual race. The values that the gym is promoting is different from the others, and this is what makes them stand out IMO. I guess it is kinda like Maxis where people are willing to pay slightly more for better, faster and more stable coverage.

QUOTE(ejump82 @ Mar 26 2018, 09:39 AM) aiks.. they charged me 5 ringgit more... Corporate rate differs from company to company. They have a tier system, meaning to get more discounts, your company must have more staff sign up as a member.

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Mar 22 2018, 02:28 PM) Ahh have not been there. But that's funny, soft drinks? I love the pineapple and watermelon water they have. Sadly the only other outlet with this is 1MK. Wished they have it in all the outlets! Your pleas has been hard. AK now have drinks with cucumber and lemons inside too. 😄

QUOTE(birdman8 @ May 22 2018, 11:16 PM) https://www.fitnessfirst.com.my/dual/FF & CF dual access membership fees. Do noted that FF AK, MidValley, Empire Subang and mont Kiara outlets are not in the 5 areas option selection. Because those are so called Platinum branches. Anyway I kinda regret dual membership now. After went to a few, I find CF a bit lacking. Have to bring own lock, no hot shower, no lounge area. Sheeshhhhh

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Sep 18 2018, 12:41 PM) Also, FF prices are pretty much fixed. Not sure from whom you heard can nego, but sadly, it's all fixed. The nego part is likely to be waiver of registration fees, admin fees etc that you pay when enrolling in the membership. Ask for the free gifts as well (bag/ tumbler etc). Yeah FF prices is pretty fixed. The only way to reduce payments is by paying thru credit cards, subscribe under corporate rate and AIA Vitality I suppose.

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Sep 18 2018, 01:18 PM) Just noticed your previous post above. After several months, how do you find CF? Still the same? Kinda regret dual membership lol. CF is always crowded, the hot water are not always hot and the locker so smol and some branch you need to bring your own lock. Advantage is I can gym where FF is not available, but given the chance, I will actively seek out FF branches. But on the bright side, under my company corporate rate now I basically pays the same amount for dual access compared to before (my company havent join corporate rate thingy back then), so not really rugi anything? lol This post has been edited by emino: Sep 18 2018, 03:28 PM

QUOTE(AureusX @ Oct 10 2018, 04:01 PM) When is their last operating date? Refer below: QUOTE CLOSURE OF FITNESS FIRST MENARA MANULIFE Dear members,
We regret to inform you that after much deliberation and consideration, we will be closing your Fitness First Menara Manulife club on 30 November 2018 after a memorable 17 year run.
Fitness First Menara Manulife (formerly known as Menara John Hancock) was the pioneer Fitness First club in Malaysia, and opened its doors to the Malaysian gym goers in October 2001. Set in a plush and beautiful residential area that houses some of the most prestigious homes in the country, the club has been a significant part of our portfolio throughout this time; especially among the Damansara Heights community. Between now and 30 November, we will continue to offer full services at Fitness First Menara Manulife, including Personal Training and Group Exercise classes. Our club operation hours will also remain the same.
We have communicated alternative training and membership options to our Menara Manulife members, in order to minimise disruption to their regular fitness routine.
This year, we have made significant investments to the Fitness First network of clubs through network expansion, club enhancements, personal trainer and instructor development, and expanding our Signature group fitness offerings. Through our new parent company Evolution Wellness Holdings Pte. Ltd., enhancements are also being made to our sister brand Celebrity Fitness clubs, and we are also working hard to expand our network of clubs in Malaysia, and you can expect to hear more news about this in future.
As we prepare to say goodbye to our Menara Manulife club, the team and I would like to express our gratitude for your support and loyalty throughout the years. We wish to assure you that we remain fully committed to our business in Malaysia, and provide support to those who are in pursuit of a fitter, healthier lifestyle. Should you have any questions, please refer to Fazli, your club General Manager.
Sincerely, Andrew Phillips Managing Director Celebrity Fitness & Fitness First Malaysia
