finally... i would be happy to have a 2.6~2.7GHz prime stable DC opty, it's as good as 2.9~3.0GHz SC opty in some applications...

blend test is easier to pass compared to runnin small fft & large fft simultaneously. i'm havin hard time to have my system, especially ram (large fft) to prime stable...

QUOTE(gengstapo @ Jun 10 2006, 09:04 AM) walao wehh.. i dont think voltage not enuff. even at 1.55v oso kenot pass 295x10 bro, wat i mean is if addin voltage wun do gud, it's time to reduce d temp if u were to clock ya chip higher. 4give me for my poor english... how bout my RAMs setup? any comment? hmmm.... i assume u put ram setting to auto, looks familiar to me especially d trc & trfc. hynix chippy? QUOTE(ncool15 @ Jun 10 2006, 04:16 AM) Don't lie.The version of cpu-z you are using will only show 1.375 if you set more than 1.4v in bios,1.425 perhaps?Bingo! i think this is very subjective issue, it's more psu dependent. in my case, if i set 1.4v in bios, cpu-z will show 1.375v sharp. dun make any assusmption just base on ya own judgement coz wat work for u not alwez applicable for others... I'm also using SLI-D with CAB1E 0614. This post has been edited by ah_khoo: Jun 10 2006, 12:38 PM |

QUOTE(gengstapo @ Jun 10 2006, 12:31 PM) ic. well, when running pi calculation 32mb@ 1.52v temp around 56c, consider high ady arr?? 56'C is abit high for me, try to keep it under 50'C, ask sarge arj... i think he manage to clock his dually opty high w/ better temp... all the RAMs setting i put default onli minor changes at RAMs timming, DRAM Drive & Strenght. im on 2gb uccc kit. can't help bout d ram thingy but DRAM Drive & Strength are better to have 'em manually set. |

QUOTE(lichyetan @ Jan 14 2007, 03:45 PM) hmm, my pc spec is following: if i'm not mistaken, 0550vpmw is d golden batch of 170, doin almost 2.8~2.9GHz on stock voltagem not so sure bout yas. Opteron 170, DFI Expert Board, Infineon Ce-5 2gb ram, X1950XT, 3x HDD, 1x DVD Rom, 4x120mm fans 1x80mm fans, 1x mcp650 pump, apogee block, mp-01 block... acbel 550watt ipower series PSU... actually it can go higher but i think its the PSU limitations due to the tri 12v rails are 14A,22A,18A, max ouput for the 12v rails are 360Watt... but i felt weird for the opty is it need 1.58v to stable at 2.6ghz for prime test... my steppings is CCBWE 0550UPMW which is quite overclockable in ohter forums, but looks like i really lucky enuff to get the worst in these steppings... * core temp readings for the cores in full load quite high, 53c +- 3c for both core using core temp... with my wc kit... which i think the setup is ok since my gpu are cool enough, but core temp for the cpu is a bit high in my opionion... judgin by d spec u have, i can say ya psu is abit overloaded. too much "burden" ledi. if ur not playin w dual gpu, best bet is to get a psu w single fat rail (+12v). i mite be wrong thou... QUOTE(satanhead2003 @ Jan 18 2007, 10:16 AM) Guys, ive been playing w/ Core Temp and saw my opty TDP. its 38.2w. Nearly EE series ( which IIRC is 35w ). the thing is, i never heard EE Opteron being produced. btw, my stepping is CACJE 0607 APAW. Am I lucky or its just a common chip? u'll know when u find out how for it can go (stable) with voltage (as low as possible). Screen shot ![]() |

I see u got the same ram as me.. yup, I'd tried running it on other pc that supports dual channel.. no problem at all..can use dual channel.. seems like a lot of people in diy-street have the same problem as I have..so far nobody have the solution for this problem.. http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53130 |

QUOTE(gsan @ May 31 2007, 01:44 AM) it should be memory controller problem, do you try the proc and the ram together on other mobo? yup, think this cud be d solution. nice tips there bro... btw, you may give a try on this method, no guarantee 100% working but success solved the problem on A64 E3 + Expert + 2x1GB Corsair LLPRO. put 1 stick ram to boot up the system and set divider to 133/166. then power off the pc and put another stick on it to boot up in dc mode. |
