if i want to put awning at the backyard, want to use it as clothes drying area,but want to cover the perimeter between the awning and the wall.

i saw some houses put grillles, thats make looks like a store. need something that allows air and sunlight to go through. yet secure from break in

my idea is brick wall at the bottom and a transparent awning at the top. but missing the material in between.

any suggestion?a picture will be nice
