I think it really depends on your baby. Some baby are naturally fussy and they may not like certain brands. Thus, it's all about trial and error.

My son has used Anakku, Mothercare and Avent...he's not that fussy.

i think baby bottle depends on whether you want to give breastmilk/breastfeed or formula? If breastmilk also depends are you using breastpump or not? This is because for ease of use in long term. I've bought Avent full set from breast pump, bottle to storage. Its convenient for my wife & also easy for her to use....the problem is that my baby likes breast feeding more than the bottle feeding...haha.

Regarding the avent leak is for old model...the new model no longer leaked. So make sure buy new model/stock bottle not the old one.

That's the hard part must see what year is the box.The new box kinda different I forgot which year model have the leak problem. Try google it in the internet. The best thing is buy from reputable seller or shop coz most of the time they will sell the newer stock.

MAM is a good one if you plan for bf. It also has anti colic and it's easier to clean. The price is also reasonable and the design is also cute.

i recommend using this mimijumi bottle as it will last for 3 years.Worth buying it compared to other bottles that need to be changed quite frequently.the teats also lasts up to 8 months.also can avoid nipple confusion to ur baby as u're breastfeeding them because the teat is just like nipple. My niece also can get along with the bottle as she refused other bottle.her mom got worried if she's working because her daughter didnt want milk accept truly breastmilk from her mom!!Mimijumi really saves her worries.

I'm selling Mimijumi bottle for RM83 including teat.Normal price RM89

Contact me if u want it:0136020124(imani)

It doesn't matter which colour, PES or PP bottle coz both are good quality bottles. PES(yellow) is more expensive than PP(white) bottles becoz PES bottles are more durable. I have both bottles. How many bottles depends on how much milk ur child drinks & also whether ur alternate it with breast feed. For me i have 2 4oz & 2 9oz bottles. at home 2 another 2 at nursery. We seldom use the bottles at home coz my the baby prefer breastfeed rather than the bottle feed.So its kinda waste. I recommend to buy at least minimum 2 bottles first...u can always buy more if u need it. Do buy from store like mothercare or reputable seller to avoid from the infamous avent bottles leakage because if the product is faulty u can always return it back to the seller but i sincerely doubt the old model is still in the market.

i like glass bottle too, bought the tommy tippee glass bottle at the mother and baby fair at Midvalley last month, quite cheap, havent tried it yet, baby's coming in Feb tongue.gif, but i think u need to put something around it to makesure the bottle wont break if the baby throw the bottle, tried looking for silicone cover, but very hard to find the size for tommy tippee,

i've read some reviews, life factory is quite good also, this come with the silicone cover.

Yup.the one I saw in fact was life factory which comes with silicone cover.but still doubtful whether its gonna be safe or not.might afraid sometimes careless crack the bottle.

I think the newer Avent bottles are yellowish and do not require a plastic ring to be inserted. The older ones are clear white and require a plastic ring to be inserted or it will leak.

personally, as much as I like the virtues of glass; I dont see the logic of using glass near babies or children for that matter. Anything breakable should be kept away from my child's face or body as much as possible in my opinion.

My sister's using 5 different brands of glass bottles for my nephew (pardon her for being kiasu).. As follows:

1. Life Factory
2. Tommy Tippie
3. Glasslock
4. Nuk
5. Cherub

Based on her experiment for 1 1/2 years, my nephew preferred Glasslock than any other brands and it's more durable (yet to break even my nephew keep dropping and throwing the bottle) and easy to clean (due to wide bottle neck).

FYI, Tommy Tippee is also good, but it's not durable and broke when my nephew threw it. For NUK, my nephew don't like the bottle teats. Life Factory and Cherub have a narrow bottle neck and harder to clean.

So, I'm getting Glasslock for my baby too. Not many places are selling this brand, but I managed to get it from Parkson. smile.gif

Thanks for your recommendation. I had bought Glasslock at Parkson.
So far so good, except the teat occasionally get shrink inside while feeding. And I need to open the bottle occasionally to stabilize the pressure in allowing the teat goes back to it's normal position.

My wife complain that the glass bottle is heavy.. icon_question.gif icon_question.gif
However, I can feel the solidness when holding the glass bottle smile.gif

Hi Arthur

I guess your baby biteswhile drinking, is it? The teat will shrink if your baby is biting or not drinking properly. This feature is mimicking baby bites mummy's nipple while breastfeeding, and mummy have to pull away/stop feeding baby. Similiar when the teat shrunk, you pull away the bottle and put the cap on, shake a few times, and the teat will back to normal shape. Don't have to open the milk bottle.

My LO did the same as well, with this, he knows he will not getting any milk if he bites! smile.gif

I had a Dr Brown glass bottle but kinda regret buying it because the blue plastic in the middle is quite troublesome to handle and not suitable for travelling use. I'm using NUK plastic bottle now and quite happy with it. I also realised that I should have bought the large/tall bottle on the 1st instance because the amount of milk baby drinks increases over time. Now I have both small & big NUK bottle...wasted money buying the small bottle...1st time being a parent sweat.gif

Dear Mummies;

I'm now starting to survey on milk bottles. There are so many brands available in market. I've narrowed down to MAM Baby Bottle and Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature, yet I couldn't decide which one to buy. LOL! Both has its pros and cons. However MAM has an additional feature of Anti Colic, also easier for washing.

Any reviews on both brands? Thanks

Like many who said here before, no brand is the best brand. It really depends if your LO likes it or not.

My babygirl started off with medela for convenience because my wife uses medela breastpump. However, my girl had mild colic and we switched to Dr. Brown and straight away colic gone!

I've been using Dr. Brown ever since (My baby is 13 months now). I do agree that Dr. Brown is harder to clean as they have many parts (the tube insie etc).

Again, try out the brand you feel right for your LO first...if they are happy with the bottle, stick to it. There is no best bottles around. Just have to make sure it is bpa free.

Better go for glass baby bottle as parent can sleep in piece
Plastic baby bottle uses BPA replacement chemicals to harden the plastic bottle icon_rolleyes.gif

Yeah but for now...i'll still stick to the BPA-free plastic bottles first...haha.....

And there's a risk in the glass cracking if u keep the milk in the glass bottle in the fridge and warm it up later right?

Though we use storage cups to store the milk in the fridge, when need to use just pour into bottle...

Any sudden change of temperature will have a risk of the glass cracking. What I am doing is take the glass bottle to room temperature first and then to the bottle warmer.

I have many BPA free bottles (gifts from friends), so I used them as well. But every 6 -7 months, I have to throw them away which I feel 'wasted' because it is still in a good condition. Plus I do not want the risk of pro-longing the life time of the plastic bottles. It is not environmental friendly too.

I have been using the same glass bottles for 15 months now. Quite satisfied and happy with them.

My wife used US BABY brand, made of silicone BPA free, so it is soft and safe for the baby. the bottle can also stop air from entering so will not spill if you turn the bottle upside down.

I am using Simba which is PPSU material. I bought glasses too, but we don't like to use it because they get very hot (hard to hold) after sterilized or gone through milk warmer. Hard to feel if the milk is hot, warm or cold because of the glass.
