actually i am slowing down on mcfarlane a lot... cant afford any longer because every month sure got new series and as usual shops in kl all put super price and they sell in complete series. if not they will markup super price on 1 particular figure in that series because they know that figure is the hottest.

that really stopping me buying from mcfarlane figures these days. still prefer buy from ebay smile.gif
*
Oh, ic. Hehe, you don't have to buy every series that McF produce. Just stick to a line that you really like only. wink.gif

Well, that's business for you.

QUOTE(AssKicker @ Jan 11 2006, 11:19 PM)
hi there, I'm currently interested in collecting McFarlane figures but i know nothing about it. Could anyone help me in answering the following questions.

1. what's the difference between MIB BIB MISB MOSC MOC??
2. what's the difference between tri card and US card?
3. Is there anything else I need to know?

Anyway, I'm planning to get Spawn Series 25: Spawn hsi.005 and Spawn Series 25: Spawn i.095. What's the price for both of this model.

Thanks in advance
*
1.
MIB= Mint in Box.
BIB= Back in Box.
MISB= Mint in Sealed Box.
MOSC= Mint on Sealed Card.
MOC= Mint on Card.

Generally, TF fans define MIB as a toy that has been taken out and replaced back into the box in mint condition while MISB is totally sealed and never opened before.

As for card, once it is opened and can't be resealed back. Therefore it is safe to say that MOSC= MOC.

2. One thing is the price. The 2nd is the language. Thirdly, US carded generally has better paint job since they're the first batch of figures to be released. Fourthly, there maybe physical variants, such as colour, head sculpt, accessories etc etc.

3. You can never stop learning about figures. You try asking, and I'll try my best to answer you. wink.gif

The Hellspawn can be obtained for about RM70 for a Tri but the i.095 will be at least RM80 and above for a Tri and depending on condition as it is quite sought after.

Thanks for the information endless thumbup.gif . anyway what does it mean by card?? does it mean that the action figure is made out of card? Anyway, how much does it cost for a normal 6" and a 12" spawn action figure??Btw, very nice collection u got there, how could u afford so many figures ohmy.gif ? Anyway, do u know where to get cheap models???
*
Technically carded figures are figures that have a paper/cardboard back as can be seen in the earlier McFarlnae figures.

Nowadays, most companies tend to just have a card insert sealed in a plastic clamshell but it is still referred to as carded figures. The reason being, it won't deform as easily as cardboard and therefore easier to store.

It varies. If you buy a set, it will usually be RM50 for one 6" figure. As for 12", it used to be RM150 but currently it is around RM120.

lol, i work part time plus trade online to support my hobby. biggrin.gif

Cheap models, as in Gundam model kits?

i am wondering, arent we supposed to take out those figures?

why so many collectors keep them in the package? for resale?
*
I think the same way as you do too. But some figures are super rare and expensive, so collectors will only display it in the box since they can't bring themselves to open it. tongue.gif

Some ppl do get kicks out of looking at them in mint condition or they simply have no place to display and is scared that it might turn yellowish (translucent figures) or collect dust.

I actually have a friend who absolutely has not opened one of his TF reissue from the first one till now (and believe me, it's C8 & above for each and every box). If he wants to open it, he'll buy an extra one like the recent Galvatron reissue. That's what I call rich. sweat.gif

But the worst lot of them all, has to be those scalpers. vmad.gif

lol, cheap? Everywhere is more or less the same price. At most also the difference is RM5 for one figure if you buy in a set.

Gundams? Try DC.

Wa, spend so much money on a model and u don't get to touch it.... wasted.  shakehead.gif The reason I get a model is so that i get to feel it and maybe play with it tongue.gif .

Anyway what's a scalpers?
*
Scalpers are people who buy figures (or any items for that matter) to make quick small profits or worse, to resell at greatly increased prices. mad.gif

me!! The first series was great but the second was a let down. Even though it is more detailed that the first one, they've shrunk in size.

Plus they look more 'lizardish' than a dragon. The box set is out already I heard. biggrin.gif
