so, we got napoli for the last 16 of champions league. for me, it's a fair draw. i think the biggest problem for us is to get a result in naples because they are pretty solid at home. at stamford bridge, we should win the 2nd leg. i think 1-1 or 2-2 draw at naples are considered as a good result. as long as we got some away goals to bring back at stamford bridge for the 2nd leg. anyway, we should focus on wigan first this weekend, let's get the 3 points. KTBFFH...!!!

Oh hoho..it seems it's all-out England v Italy with Milan pairing up with Arsenal and Chelsea with Napoli !
It doesn't really matter who we get, what matters most is we progress steadily as a team and win that elusive cup to prove our steel and also, to satisfy RA before he goes splashing 50million on 1 player again ><" (50m can get a few good players o) LoL

Hi football fans there, watch this.

This is what our young Romeu is doing!
We have seen a lot 'Mikel-Terry-Mikel-Tery-Luiz- LONG BALL-Possession lost' earlier in this season. That's why I strongly believe Romeu is the key player that turns our slump into winning ways.

50 million for torress is not about scoring goals, the another intention is to build/strength the fans base .. if you go to the store, still lots of people buying torress jersey ...

exactly, I think we already earned back half or maybe more of the money we spent on buying Torres with the selling of his merchandise eg Jersey.

January gonna be the ultimate test for Torres...without Drogba and Kalou..he should start almost all game with Sturridge at the flank and only Lukaku to challenge his position...new signing need time to settle we wont see much of them during the transfer period...

There is no way we can earn back 50m pound base on selling TORRES merchandise, not a chance. Like marketing not everything can be easily measures by money eg. increase in fan base, club status etc he bring for CHELSEA but in order to maintain that he need to get back his football else is all going downhill.

Judging by AVB's style, I say he wants his main striker to be able to create something out of nothing, ala Lionel Messi.

For now, Drogba's the only one capable of doing that. But in the future, I think Lucas Piazon can do that for us too. Maybe 4-5 years time though.

i think it also has to do with didier's ability to hold up the ball and link-up play as well. unfortunately torres is not that type of player (especially the first bit), so one area where he can get the upper hand on the drog is mobility and movement. make those runs, stay on the shoulder of the last defender, make sure he follows up any shots spilt by the keeper, etc. to be fair he was doing most of those pretty well vs genk at home. then came the malouda + torres combo upfront and the rest is history. drogs took his chance and benefited from being paired with our most creative player mata. if AVB chooses to save ramires and raul for the wigan game AND give malouda that leftwing spot, i predict a tough game for nando. especially if flomo is in one of his 'moods' of shooting from every angle.

i must emphasise however, torres must do his best and make the most of his chances by working hard on the pitch. chase down the defenders like a madman, and if he can't get the service the next best thing he can do is provide an assist. by some miracle if flowmo attempts a wayward shot and it drops straight at his feet for a tap in, then all the better. studge can try and help out but he'd much rather attempt a shot first, considering he's on a hot streak of form. can't really blame him for that but if it gets to a point where he keeps getting shots blocked instead of trying to look for a teammate, i'm sure AVB will have a word with him.

But Real Madrid get back their money when they purchased Ronaldo for jersey only. They recouped the money for 1 season only. I think it happen to Torres too

Is somewhat true, a lot of unloyal (to Man Utd) CR7 fans convert from Man Utd to Real Madrid fan. Before Ronaldo went to Real, everyone just thought of them as the team that lost to Barcelona, so no one bought shirts of Sneijder, Van Der Vaart and Robben. But after Ronaldo and Kaka go, suddenly a lot of people spend money on these 2 dudes' kit.

In Malaysia, if you ask random commoner who is in the Real Madrid team, they most probably can only name Cristiano Ronaldo.

Also, ( Not sure about this though), I think in our first 2-3 months after signing Torres got a stat showed he was the top selling kit in the world.
