to me recabled ksc75 is even better sounding than grado sr60i. not price/performance rating, but TRUE sound quality alone!

Bought modded ksc-75 as shown in the picture above from idjoel two months ago...i am seriously amazed by the sound this tiny thing can produce..first of all the headphone was recabled with 24awg silver plated copper wire + gold plated pure copper plug and headband..i never had the chance to try stock ksc-75 tbh..in fact i have no idea at all about the stock ksc-75 sound sig..but with my modded ksc-75 i can pretty much say it should be priced much much higher..simple as that..its quite bright..a bit to neutral side..but the bass produced is fun..seriously good..i owned grado sr60i before..good headphone..but i found the brightness made me fatigued easily..i can listen to it about an hour or so..longer than that..i doubt it..believe me this is not some hype or anything..but for starter i would strongly suggest ksc-75..

vocal sounds brilliant on this..really smooth and warm..theres a bit of sparkle on the top...good details..and most importantly no sibilance at all..i didn't notice any sibilance with this...overall this is a great headphone..still very portable..but it does leak sound..with moderate level of volume..i think it should be fine..very light as well..despite 60 ohm impedance..it can be driven easily through my clip zip..it does not need amp..but but..with my PPK..it adds more warmth..refine the mids..yet still maintain the unbelievably good details..unfortunately i have sold my clip zip and PPK..but I will keep the headphone for sure coz i like it a lot..at least for now..credit to idjoel..cheers notworthy.gif

i'm glad you're enjoying them! biggrin.gif

try to burn it in for at least 50 hours plus. i found that silver plated sounds a little grainy and less transparent at first, those will be gone after 50 hours++

So if my Koss is original but not from authorised distributor then can't claim warranty although stated lifetime warranty?

You will have to send it back to KOSS in the USA. Considering the courier charges both ways, it will be cheaper to get a new pair from authorised local resellers.

They are so cheap that most people would not bother with warranty anyway. I say just buy the cheapest you can find. I have one pair with no sound from one side.

use it first, then wait for the cable to get loose and loose sound from one or both ears, then you recable it.

I got a Koss KSC-75 that I have been using for many months. Then just earlier I bought Monoprice DJ headphones, which were basically Kicker HP541's that has been rebranded.

First thoughts? Holy crap, I bought the KSC-75 for ~RM 75, the DJ headphones for RM 100, but the KSC-75 are miles better. Now, this is just first impressions as I haven't tried burning-in the DJ headphones but damn, the Monoprice DJ headphones got praises everywhere but the KSC-75 just easily beat the s*** out of it. I'm still gonig to give the DJ headphones a try though, let it burn in, as it is a noise-isolated headphone, the Koss KSC-75 isn't, hence not very suited to have music on full-blast (bad for the ears I know, but sometimes you have to reach the minimum level that can be experienced in an orchestra at least).

Listening to Passenger with my KSC-75, ohh man it does not make sense I bought it at RM 75. Very understandable it could be too bright for some, and how I wish people who'd like to get serious about listening to their music know the fact that the KSC-75 is a wonderful thing they can start with. Not in my case though as I still love every bit of it until now. Sorry HE-500 cool2.gif

Hey guys, reviving this dead thread as I found a DAC&amp that goes very well with Koss KSC-75.

It's the China-made ES9023+SA9023+AD823X2
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0k...._u=o25ct45e7c5b

It compliments your original Ksc75 with the performance of the recabled one. The driving power is good to drive the ksc75 into almost its full potential! Check it out smile.gif

Yes. I have a good recabled Alessandro MS-1 and yet sometimes I prefer the ksc75 for its great bass extension. And the ksc75 is still selling!

Reviving this thread with a picture of Koss X Drop KSC75x

The hook feels way better now, hopefully it won't change color when it ages tongue.gif

Retiring my old KSC75 as the hook is loose after many years of abuse

just of curiosity. I own ksc75x. what setting on fiio A1(otw) should I use? read somewhere on internet that wrong setting might damage ear/headphone and ears.

The Fiio A1 is an ear/headphones amp, you can just use any setting that suits your musical taste, as long you are listening at a comfortable volume it should be just fine.

is there other alternative to yaxi pads and ksc75 foam?
preferably ear foams that does not cover the driver.
I managed to find a headband and made a square hole on a pair of unknown ear foams(loose fitting, uncomfortable since it's too thin). after put 'em on Ksc75x, the vocals become more clearer.
p/s: am quite new.

KSC75 is already quite clear with vocal with normal fully covered ear pad. I'm afraid it will be too bright with holey ear pad and you might lose some bass dynamic as well

how bout yaxi pads? honestly I read nothing negative bout 'em except the price of course.

stock(knock off) ear pad is a lot cheaper on shopee.
Edit:
Decided to stick with stock.

Experiment failed. doh.gif
Crappy soldering skill.
Hope can save the driver now.
Gonna buy a 3.5mm to Bluetooth adapter instead.

How much you bought it? Seventy plus?
Sometimes not worth to try mod especially when it is difficult
I got KZ bt adapter but is only with APTX, sound really shitty. sweat.gif
