Hey all, this is the Questing GM from Sabah. Have been gaming for almost 10 years, mostly D&D (still haven't been able to try out 4E yet) but is looking to branch out to new games. There's no FLGS in Sabah that sells D&D stuff so we have to order them from overseas sometimes.

QUOTE(blacktrix @ Feb 9 2009, 04:48 PM) Cool. Didn't know there was alot of D&D Players too. Those are some really awesome pics! Nice! Just got in the game myself, and trying to get the books. got a few packs of miniatures and dungeon tiles and working out some details for my next campaign. Attached are some of the scenarios that will have my players cowering in fear...... |

QUOTE(sayming @ Apr 6 2009, 03:32 PM) My best advice to get you started is, if possible, find an experienced group that can take in another member, you'll learn faster that way. If not, get a group of buddies together to form your own but you'll have to learn things from scratch. The current edition is the 4th and you'll need 3 core rulebooks, Player's Handbook. Dungeon Master's Guide and Monster Manual. If you are a new player that have managed to joined a group, you'll only need the Player's Handbook. Buy the other two if you and your buddies are new to the game and someone will have to be the dungeon master (DM). I'm not sure what is the price of these books in KL but I'm willing to guess that each book will probably cost about RM100-200 (depending on which shop too). Best way to find a group is to ask around game shops that sell these books. |

QUOTE(areola @ May 21 2009, 02:56 PM) Hey QuestingDM, you from Sabah? Same here but I am working in KL now. Which school did you come from? I am from KK All Saints.. USe to play alot of D&D back in high sch.. Hei, fellow Sabahan! I from Maktab Nasional and also played a lot of D&D but am currently on hiatus at the moment thanks to uni. QUOTE(scarven @ May 21 2009, 05:19 PM) Hmm, personally I would recommend that all new players start out with a game system that focuses on the fluff aka flavour text rather than the crunch aka the rules. D&D 4th edition is fun to play no denying it but I would personally say start out with D&D 2nd edition or Savage Worlds. Of course that's my personal preference AD&D 2nd Edition to me feels more crunchy than 4E if you ask me Anyway, for game shops one can find the rulebooks for sale at the Comics Corner down at Damansara near Atria. That's the main gaming shop and several groups already run roleplaying games there By the way, you can now download the Quick Start rules and a free adventure for D&D 4E *legally* from the Wizards web site. Grab it while you still can. Yep, Savage Worlds is a nice and fast system but is it for sell in Malaysia? I would really like to know where? And if you really want to go fluff then try Exalted or any other White Wolf game. But again, getting a group is more important. |

Just want to ask does any shop in KL run World Wide D&D Game Days or Delve Nights?
Any groups taking part in the Living Forgotten Realms organized campaigns? |

Anyone can recommend a place that sells D&D (and other RPGs) or where players usually hangout?
