Again, asus hotline confuses me on this and from what i gathered here, there are 2 "not really accessible" ram slots inside the G55, and then there are 2 ram slots that easily accessible for the users. I dont know whether it'll void the warranty if i try to insert ram into the "not accessible ram slots" inside the G55. Asus told me i cant access it. wtf? The ram comes with a default Hyundai 1600mhz 4GB ram. The thing is, i'm not sure whether the default ram is in one of the "non accessible slots" or the "accessible slots"

can someone confirm this with me? i'm sick of calling asus hotline cause they dont seem to know what they're talking about.

About the warranty.. i'm supposed so. Thats what the warranty are for right? unless you purposely spoil it yourselves then cannot claim la and yes its 2yrs international warranty. Which is something i like about Asus.

do you do ram upgrades on the G55? if so, how do you upgrade the ram if a customer wants to fill ALL the dimm slots with 4gb ram? making it to 16gb ram.

i'm not sure if this is right, but i remember someone posted the same thing in notebookreview forum saying that his laptop can go up to 80+ celcius during gaming. And apparently, it's kinda normal. I couldn't dig up the link for you cause i dont even know where or which page is it now haha. Maybe other g55 users here can confirm this for you

Anyway, i'm thinking of getting a cooler pad from coolermaster. Probably a notepal u2 or a x3

no la, i'll honour my deal with Devour cause i also asked him a lot of questions. He's a nice guy, but then if my laptop still can't arrive by mid june or for the next batch. Then i have no choice but to get another laptop dy. I'm simply don't have time to wait anymore.

anyway if devour can get us 1600 ram then it'd be good. Maybe i'll pm him later

but any significant difference between 1600 vs 1333. I have read discussion about them, and ppl pointed out that there wont be any noticeable changes. Opinions?

and i must applaud for your dedication to get the Asus G55 but can't you confirm that will there be stock first? you don't want to go home empty handed. And most probably i'll get the u2 or the u3 cooler pad. I'm not sure, but then i also like the x3 design. There's another coolermaster product called the sf-19, managed to find a dealer selling it but its around rm150 or so

there will be a newer revision for the coming G55 batch. The previous batch was S1095V, that comes only with a normal bag and they're currently out of stock and will be replaced with a newer revision. Which I forgot what code number already, but it'll come with an exclusive Targus ROG backpack and ROG mouse. Specs wise, they are the same.

1. no idea, never played guild wars 2 but i think it should be no problem maxing it out

2. i am also getting this for my cad applications like Revit, 3ds Max, Autocad, sketchup and along with photoshop/illustrator. I may give some opinion on this. Cad applications like autocad 3D could rely more towards the CPU. I'm not sure how much will the GPU be used. I've been researching about the performance of GTX660m gpu. And i'm still not sure whether 3D softwares are using more of CPU or GPU. But i could tell that the latest 3ds Max 2012/2013 has started to use the gpu to boost its performance. Maybe the same for autocad 2012/2013. However, the 660m may not be the best card to run your softwares smoothly (depending on the scene you're rendering, amount of objects etc) but it will do the job and definitely better than the other mainstream cards outside

do you need the 3D? or do you play games in 3D? remember that if you get the 3D version, your screen resolution is only HD and not Full HD. If you need it, then get it. If you dont then don't waste another rm1k on it.

but.. we.. must.. stay.. strong.. for G55...

haha nope, i found one using SB cpu, but extreme quad core with gtx 580m. And it comes with a good price, so considering to get that instead. Not the i7 3610 and gtx 660m basically it was a maxed out r3.

I dont think we'll get the 1020 cause the 1020 is an overseas unit, not in Malaysia. I don't remember the new revision punya code number. But if it does comes with a 8gb 1600mhz. Man sometimes it sucks to be in my position. I've been thinking of getting a new laptop for months (less than a year but definitely more than 6 months) so initially I was supposed to get a G53sx, but apparently the model was EOL. So nvm, waited another month for the G55 to arrive. When it does, all i did was innocently placed my order as fast as i could. And even that, I had to wait more than a month for it to arrive man.. talk about bad luck.

If i buta buta fly here and there and then suddenly saw, eh g55 wor? not bad what, then placed my order. I can still tahan.. but this

anyway i'm not selling any cooling pad but i saw a dealer that sells the coolermaster cooling pad somewhere in garage sales. u2/3 for rm100+ and x3 for rm80+
