Let's say that we have around 500-600k Can get any of these 2 second hand one. Which is a better option? I think r8 will Give more head turnings but gtr is more powerful car rite? Comparing price I think gtr is one of best bang for bucks in the sportscar world. Cheap and powerful. Is the r8 considered underpowered?

I think the powerful r8 is the newer ones year 2011 like spyder version and v10? Rite now I'm talking about the older version r8 which is now price drop to around 600 k, I'm not sure the hp I can't remember but i think it lose to most other sport cars no?

In term of horsie power the Audi r8 quattro 4.2 v8 is lacking compared to Nissan gtr35 but might be compensated by curb weight of which the r8 only weight about 1300kg while the gtr35 weight at 1750. In between the two, I'll get Audi r8 as it is more elegant and premium compared to gtr35. A continental car vs Japanese. Take your pick.

Somehow I feel r8 is true sport car but gtr is a little bit below sport car class. Anyways I just checked the 2011 r8 v10 has 525 hp while gtr has 530 hp. Quite close. Price does differ by a range. Now r8 new is 1.25 mil but anyone know how much gtr new cost?

performance wise GTR own them all...stock out from factory it can east porsh already, wat more if u chg the exhaust and retune the ecu, such simple mod u can get at least 600hp
R8 for me will be a chick magnet but if your own chick, make sure she always wear jeans because getting in and out will always flash her feminine side to onlooker

I like R8 very much because of its look. GTR is real strong and more wide space. But use on the road, u cant put these car to the limit, so i will go for R8.

my vote goes to R8. It's got something that GTR doesn't have: "class"...

Patience is a virtue

If you get a pre 2009 GTR R35, be prepared to be faced with gearbox overheating issues.
Also GTR's are known that you need to service your gearbox after several thousand KM (about 4-5k), the cost to service your gearbox can reach to about RM12,000. I got a friend selling his Stage 1 GTR if you are interested. He priced it at RM400k.

GTR is the faster car of the 2.
BUT the R8 is hand-built.

QUOTE(imperialrealcs @ Dec 1 2011, 03:47 PM) R8 is definitely much moer of a headturner than gtr Last week, was working at a place where a 911, F430 & R8 parked side-by-side. When I look at them over & over again, can't help but feel the R8 is really something special.
