Hi,

I need some input here. The design of my house looks a little boxy, partly because my neighbour did not bring their master bedroom out.

What can be done to make it less boxy? The cornice on the top will be changed to something that stands out more.

extend a canopy over ground floor, add screens to first floor instead of having windows on the facade.

that's the plan for both the top windows. It's not really awning, more of the tiles on it but it looks like a mini awning. tongue.gif

there is a canopy already actually, it's in the second photo but it's not so obvious. I'll take a new one soon and post it.

Do you have any pictures of this screen? I can't visualize how it will look. blush.gif

Not very easy to do especially since the extension has been done out flat. I prefer the facade to have differing depth to the facade as it adds some perspective to how the house looks.

If you plan to try something to doesn't make the facade flat looking, do take note that the front is square and the roof triangular as it would limit the selection of what you can do with you facade.

One way you can add privacy and add depth to your facade is by building a jut-out timber laid vertically or wire-mesh cage that extends from your ground floor and goes all the way up to just below your roof line.

Timber stripped design will help you add a more natural tone to your facade, whereas the wire-mesh option allows you to grow flowering creeper plants to also soften the facade.

Plus it acts similar to a grill. Do not put the timber horizontally laid unless you wanna create a ladder for ppl to climb.

The panel windows are for the master bedroom and living hall.

As for the bathroom, one in for the shower screen area and one is above the toilet bowl. There's a beam in between so i could not put it in the center.

We planned to make the bathroom windows 1 feet inside and the other 2 windows standing out but there's a beam in between.

Do you have a picture for the item in bold?

Why don't engage a designer? The cost is high?

Something like the following dude... if you look at the right of the house, what this owner has done is something like a cage, a variation of this should fit your place. Hope that helps. smile.gif

Actually it is the picture you showed but it's independent for both the big windows only.

I won't need that on the top of the ground floor because it will be covered something like my neigbour's house in the picture. I'll try to take a newer photo. The photo shown here is more than a month.

Btw, the cornice on the top of the room will be removed and i will put another design to make it look less boxy.

**A front view picture has been added, although it's a while back.

Don't think it's necessary for the exterior. Interior i will get a designer.
