Hi forumers, having slight problem here.
Just yesterday iwas playing dota 2 till it suddenly hang and froze. I waited for around 2min but it still froze there so i turned off the power switch. Soon after that, i turn on the pc and it was like normal, but at the moment it loaded windows 7, it got stuck. I waited for anotehr 5 min and i decided to off it again. After i offed it, my pc soon didnt show the page which allows me to go the bios with the DEl button (The page whre it displayed the model of my mobo). It straighted brought me to a black screen with the following sentence:

BIOS recovery requested. starting bios recover...
Please insert USB Flash disk with bios file.
Checking for uSb device.. DEVICE NOT FOUND. Etc etc

So i then followed forumer MSI-MY's instruction. I downloaded the latest bios for my mobo, extracted it, placed the bios file XXXXAMS.XXX to my pendrive(FAT32) and then inserted it in.

After awhile this occured
BIOS recovery requested. starting bios recover...
Please insert USB Flash disk with bios file.
Checking for USB device... Device found.
Searching file..
And it goes on forever. I really wish i could fix this rather than rma it. I cant stand waiting for a month or so..
also tried resetting the cmos via the jumper and taking off the battery. Didnt work.

Does anyone know a fix to this?
thanks

Dear xiiao1047,
Perhaps try to flash the bios via DOS mode?

1. Download BIOS: http://my.msi.com/product/mb/870-G45.html#/?div=BIOS
2. Create a bootable USB: http://www.techpowerup.com/printarticle.php?id=34
3. Extract the downloaded file into your USB Root.
4. Boot to your thumbdrive via F11 or via BIOS selecting your USB as the 1st booting device.
5. After successfully booting into DOS, type AFUD4310 A7599AMS.A80
6. System will flash the bios.

Or. you can RMA it, send me your S/N and i'll advice you which disti to RMA it.
Or. you can send it to MSI Malaysia and we will RMA it on your behalf.

Note: I believe what MSI-MY adviced you to flash the bios is via M-Flash. IF via M-Flash you shouldn't be having the BIOS Recovery error seen because you need to flash it "inside" the BIOS. Here is how flashing bios via M-Flash is done.

1. Download BIOS: http://my.msi.com/product/mb/870-G45.html#/?div=BIOS
2. Extract the downloaded file into your USB Root.
3. Plug in your USB into PC.
4. Start your PC and Hit Del to enter BIOS.
5. In BIOS, select M-Flash
6. Find a option sound like "Update BIOS...."
7. Navigate it to find your USB and eventually the BIOS File.
8. Hit enter once you found the BIOS file and it will flash automatically.

Bumping up this old post because I have the exact same problem. The suggested solution will not work because, the bios provided by MSI is as three files to be copied to a usb disk. If the bios reports error, it does not recognize these files as bios. Also you cant a bootable disk to flash bios, because the bios being completely corrupted, does not recognize the keys to interrupt POST, and choose the boot device.
