I see.. Then it should be the regulator module there.. But what for claim for regulator only right? Better take the opportunity as much as we can while we're able to claim for warranty.. I'm expecting my warranty will end on my roadtax renewal month something like that..
yeah.. one shot claim everything.. hahaha.. My warranty will end within 2 years.. Im expected to travel more than 50k km b4 next year end. .

exora cfe official brochure stated 0-100 onli need 11.3sec but i wonder why i cant feel it so fast loh but if its true, then the actual i think can do 9-10sec..since proton official figure always slower than result tat try by user..if tis engine put in persona,i think can do within 7-8sec leh can cucuk golf 1.4 oledi..tis exora cfe can makan most of 2.0 NA car if the figure is true..next time c exora cfe need move aside let it pass oledi..haiz
erm the brouchere is 13.3 secs lah bro.. But when I tested it I can say can do around 11sec.. Using butt dyno testing..
Here it goes.. My review of the Proton Exora Bold Premium CFE 1.6 CVT (Im not joking, its that long)
Went out this afternoon after seeing Samwong and Tanjacky all went to test drive the car ady.. Had nothing to do at home, so decided to go test the car.. Initially when I reached the showroom around 4.30pm I expected a huge crowd of ppl to be lining up for a test drive.. However the scarcity of ppl in the showroom proved me otherwise. As usual there was a tent outside the SA with the new Exora Bold and Saga FLX both in the same color and full with decals outside the showroom ready for a test drive.. So wasting no time, I went ahead to inspect the Exora Bold in the showroom. After looking in the engine bay and making out where the 'huge' turbo (barely bigger than my palm) was suppose to be, I proceeded for a test drive.
Initial impression, dashboard have a design that requires and acquired taste, however that design do make the dashboard feel a bit premium compared to a flat slab of cheap plastic like those in the Satria Neo. Audio system is decent, a dual din that has nothing to shout about, a well located transmission stick, probably located within grabbing distance and not as part of the dash as in the Myvi. Dashboard doesn’t sound hollow when knocked, and the seats good and supportive, just not as body hugging like a Persona. Then comes my favourite part, a steering wheel that feels as good as it looks. Its thicker and slightly softer than the PE, with button designs that doesn’t look like an afterthought compared to PE. Button feels however less premium and tactile, but that can be overlooked considering the easy to remember layout and button size.
Putting it in reverse activates the screen for the reverse camera, the same like what they have in the Kia Sportage, but resolution seems to be a bit lower and the screen a tad overwashed with brightness compared to the Kia’s. Nevertheless it cant be used as a replacement for airheads who cant park, but merely as a view of the back to look out for high kerb and prevent from mowing down reckless kids or ur cat who was hiding from u. Now comes to the best part, the thrashing part. My car had a mileage of 220km on the odo, perfect fresh engine that just lost its virginity and gained a master in horniness. I brought it out for 46km of sexual intercourse to satisfy my inquisitiveness of the new car. Throttle lag was inherently there, but barely noticeable, however the fact that the CVT transmission have the ‘rubber-band’ effect amplified the feel that the pedal was laggy. After a few km of getting used to it, the best way to pedal the car is to increase throttle very gradually in the start and accelerate after the CVT spins back into harmony.
ACCELERATION WAS ZOMG! Not Caldina 2.0 GT-Four awesome, but for a 1.6L Campro reknown for having an affair with high end HP and forgetting its torque at home, this certainly makes u rewrite ur good books bout the campro engine. Low end torque generously rushed in at a low 2k RPM and the car just kept on accelerating forward like it was a Persona. Driving position felt very sedan like except for the high POV, and having generous amount of space in the cabin extends credibility to its size advantage compared to other MPV. The car accelerates out of corners and traffic light stops at a nice good pace (faster than PE) all the while just maintaining engine speed at between 2k-2.3k RPM. The engine only kicks into higher rev when u push it hard, however high end power seems a bit lacking as the acceleration is not so willing towards the high end range when ur engine speed goes beyond 5k RPM boundaries. It seems like the turbo was suffering from lack of breath and the car felt like it was sprinting compared to jogging when the powerband used was between 2-4k RPM. This is a feeling similar to Evo III engines with TD04 turbines , the power just runs out when the RPM goes into drag racing 5k-6.5k RPM range. No matter how hard I pushed the car I wasn’t able to get it to 6k RPM. Weird. Highest ever was 5.5k RPM and it stayed there. At one point of exiting the highway I took a sweeping near 360˚ roundabout at around 90kmh. Now that speed is nothing to shout about, but do that in an MPV taller than most Asians, trust me, my mom was screaming and the SA at back never appreciated her life more before that turn. Personally that same corner a Veilfire would have lost out in stability and grip as the tires on the Veilfire was screeching like cats in hot soup when speed was just touching 80kmh. Bravo Lotus R&H.
Highway cruising was effortless. I barely noticed the speed on highway while travelling at around 150kmh. The fastest I was able to touch was 160kmh, thanks to moderate traffic trying to tailgate me at every opportunity I presented then when I was testing it at cruising speed (110kmh). Happy to say that Dugongs and Turtles never stood a chance whenever I accelerated away from them as they tailgated me. Driving an Exora Bold like a boss on the highway(thanks to the better tagline “More power, more style”) was awesome as it made u look like a celebrity, everybody tried to come closer to take a look. NVH was very good, can dare say almost on par with previous generation Alphard and better than Toyota Innova. Doors close with a solid thump, there wasn’t rattling noise coming from seats or dashboards, but the enormous wall mirrors they put as the side mirror of the car did cause some wind noise at high speed above 130kmh. All round visibility was good and A pillars didn’t obstruct much of the corner of a junction. Insulation now feels like a premium Japanese sedan.
Coming to the brakes, the brake pump in the Exora Bold can say its bigger than a PE front disc brakes. While doing the road test, the brakes were put to good use thanks to idiots under estimating the power of 1.6 CFE engine and stayed on the speed lane. The brakes felt very nice and progressive and bite was bone clenching. Much better than our beloved PE. When u are braking from a high speed to a complete stop there was a discernible change in braking power, as u slowed down to a stage, the braking power improved, possibly due to the EBD working, or some wizardry going on to eliminate the annoying KRUK KRUK sound when u release ur brakes gently while being in D. I tried it a few times and noticed that the KRUK KRUK sound could not be replicated no matter how gently I released the brake pedal. Seems like 1 more problem ticked off from the PE problems list. Seems like I have covered most of the main bases for the car. Feel free to ask me anything if u are planning to buy an Exora Bold thanks to ur condom-less orgy last saturday night. For a car that cost below RM80k, and factoring discounts u might probably get when they start delivering the car next year, its certainly the best MPV in its class. Period.

Nobody spamming the wall.. Now i can lay claim to provide the first review of the Proton Exora Bold Premium CFE 1.6 CVT on the internet.. Anything that seems similar in other review website is a copy of my article.

Zeng, tat why i said exora handling better than persona.onli d rpm cant rev easily after 5k .i think proton set d power at low n mid end lo.160 easily to reach than pe?proton oledi change from 13.3sec to 11.3sec..160 nvh oso much better than pe n other proton, rite?
handling wise I think PE still better, Exora have a lot more body roll.. And thanks to the big side windows u think u are going to fall out of the car.. But what I see is that the body roll is controlled by some active body control module.. So it seems that something special is going on somewhere around to control it. Oh no wonder i can reach around 11secs when doing 0-100.. I think they retune the ECU before launch, decreasing FC and reduce acceleration time.
QUOTE(K.Lee @ Dec 18 2011, 11:14 AM)

I think i want 4-2-1, even more pickup, tapau PE.. hehe..

Exora better than PE?
In size and power and stability in straight line and and power steering feel and braking power and comfort yes..
QUOTE(The_FQ400 @ Dec 18 2011, 12:59 PM)
PE gonna tapao by exora already..
Nope we still wont get tapau yet, but we have to accelerate like petrol is free to overtake one..
QUOTE(samwongjyhhorng @ Dec 18 2011, 02:01 PM)
uz test again exora cfe today..i juz comment here about the power and handling here..from0-100,i rev maintain 3k to 4k rpm wit SAT on,can hit 0-100 around 13sec wit aircond off..in D drive mode, from 0-100 can hit around 11sec(wit SAT off) wit aircond off too..from 50-140 onli need around 19sec(with SAT off) wit aircond on..i manage hit 150kmh during test drive..and the SA oso got fetch me to test the abs and handling..he drove to 100kmh and direct full press the brake pedal and abs kick in..the car still damn stable and juz need short distance to stop the car..he oso constant drive 70kmh and do the cornering like snake..i can feel the car body roll still under control and quite stable..after v go test top speed again..tis time can hit 160kmh..but from 120-160 actuali the feel quite same as PE(if v reali press hard too)..i oso test drove the saga flx 1.6 cvt..the power totally same as exora cfe even saga dun have turbo(bcoz of light body)..i manage can hit 160kmh(same distance as i test exora cfe onli can hit 150kmh)..as highlighted, the exora cfe was use GT radial tyre..
I also feel the SAT mode very dumb.. Might as well leave it off, when the SAT is on it seems like its confused which gear it should be in and what RPM it needs to be, it just keep on changing RPM. Now I feel my car really needs ABS and EBD ady..
Added on December 18, 2011, 2:29 pmAnd one more thing i found out.. Inspira is going for lelong like no man's business..
All inspira going for RM8k discount.. The manual one priced at 78k, after 8k discount only cost less than 70k.. OMG.. I felt like booking one on the spot ady.. 1.8MT Inspira for 69k.
This post has been edited by ZenGTMM: Dec 18 2011, 02:29 PM
yup,abs and ebd reali important..the SA fetch me around 80kmh and whack corner..once he whack in the corner,he suddenly brake hard and abs kick in..he told me if withou EBD then the car will total lose control..hehe..according the salesman, our persona body is quite stronger..is seems like bmw technology which start use 10years ago..the name i forgot ledi..onli persona, exora and satria neo use tis kind technology..saga still dun use it..i not sure the 0-100 is it reali need 11sec wit full throttle and aircond off..juz based my butt feeling..but 0-100 almost same or lose abit to PE,r u think so?
Yeah true.. The need of ABS and EBD very important.. And TC also shd be introduced asap to local cars thanks to heavy downpour loving msian skies.. Today itself there is a lot of accidents due to rainy weather and loss of traction..

So long din online cos busy working. So many post need to read. how much will it cost? wow emamage blue how much? redline how much? my car battery still surviving after 2 years 4 months maintain 12.2V before crank car.
Da mn yesterday my car tyre pancit. Then i took out all the emergency kit to change. So i unscrew the nut using the ori proton tools. The nut was so tight so i step on the tool. The nut was so tight until i need to fully step on it and shake. At the end the tools broke. So fragile. Da mn need to contact for ppl to help buy another open. really suey.
Cost for Throttle controller for me is free.. Inherited it from my neighbour's demod-ed Civic FD2. Normally cost outside is around RM650 for ori Pivot. Emanage new one cost a bit lesser than 1k. However not advisable to install in PE cos performance is very irregular.. Sometimes emanage might work, sometimes it may cause the stock ECU to kick into safety mode. So resold it to another fella.
QUOTE(K.Lee @ Dec 18 2011, 04:30 PM)
i want inspira 1.8m
Sold out ady.. According to the SA there wont be new stock for Inspira 1.8MT next year. Dunno how true is my sos cili but they say the Inspira wont be available next year.. Probable replacement of the displaced Inspira is the new Tuah/Esquire/Persona R. After trying out the Exora with CFE, i seriously believe the new P3-21A replacement will be more powerful than the Inspira, providing a valid reason for its end of production and the new P3-21A to be in the above 80k price range sedan by Proton.
QUOTE(samwongjyhhorng @ Dec 18 2011, 06:45 PM)
U r rite..if proton can solve rattling sound, then i wil consider..but d test unit tat i test today n ystd, oso got a bit sound from rear n driver side door panel..n d turbo whinning sound when cruise 2k to 4k rpm, reali make people feel quite not syiok if long journey.
For the Exora i tested built quality was tip top. Turbine whine wasnt obvious.. Instead i was waiting to hear the BOV sound and the turbine spinning sound but the NVH was so good it probably blocked it out. And i tested with the radio off.

Looks like I would have to remove the bukit serdang SC from the list as it does not support u to bring ur own lube anymore. Best lube tested, for semi sync - Castrol Magnatec, in fact its better to use Magnatec for ur first few services. for fully Sync - Castrol Edge is good for power, but turns deep gold faster than Magnatec. Other oil to recommend is Caltex Havoline. Next service im going to test AMS Oil, according from my friends feedback its really good and stable. Will post some review here after testing it in my car for my next service next mth.

No speed cut, only experienced rev cut b4 at 7250rpm. Top speed i reached b4 is 205kmh. Top speed for brand new totally unmodded car.

I like to put my hand on the autogear stick...few times ady I unconsciously shift from d to 2 or neutral..........will gearbox ok if I use it like manual?
Haha.. I modded my car and use it like a manual cos im used to driving a manual car and this autobox is really c2pid. So shd be ok cos after 29k mileage my box is still longer than a kardashian marriage.
QUOTE(kiatsim86 @ Dec 18 2011, 11:08 PM)
etiqa will b widely accepted by most workshops, along with AIA n tokyo marine... if u consider changing kurnia then gg if touch wood there's anything happen
Actually Kurnia there is nothing wrong with it. But as a customer u actually get a lot more benefits from it. Kurnia has 24 hour towing service and they provide free towing for the first 30km to any workshop of ur choice. then the charge for extra towing mileage is very minimal also, it doesnt matter if u want to repair the car with ur own money or by claiming insurance. If claiming insurance the towing charge is included, if u are planning to fix the car urself then u only need to pay the tow truck the agreed rate. Kurnia Adjustors only take 3 business days to estimate damage cost for ur car. Kurnia is very lenient in claiming parts, they allow claiming for replacement for most parts even if the damage is not so severe. Kurnia has good customer service - Personally experienced b4. Kurnia allows claims for car repairs up to 6mths from date of accident. My car accident in Penang on 3rd July this year, claim only on 16th dec, all done without any fuss or prior notice to Kurnia. Why workshops tell u that Kurnia is not good cos normally they only get reimbursed 1mth after repairing for the cost of repair. Most insurance takes around 2-3weeks. So from a consumer POV, Kurnia is not much of a problem for us. Etiqa however allows workshop to repair and claim for small minor cosmetic accidents without the need of an adjustor to assess damage b4 hand. But that only applies to certain approved panel workshops.

Castrol Edge and Havoline are Group III Hydrocracked based oil. Will post some review here after testing it in my car for my next service next mth.
On another note: The reason i wasnt here for the whole afternoon was cos my neighbour receive a call from his another friend.. The other fella was suppose to go to KL for his wife's sister's daughter's registration of marriage. It was suppose to be a happy union, and most of the relatives were called to go to KL where later they were having a private party between both sides relatives in a presidential suite somewhere in KL.. Ended up what happened was the C-Class driven by the brides eldest sister's husband met with an accident. Bad news was the eldest sister died on the spot and the rest of the passengers in the car including the bride was quite terribly injured (they werent wearing seat belts at the back). So all of the relatives who gathered in the hotel suite to party ended up becoming a tears fiesta..
And after hearing the news decided to go test drive the Lexus CT200h. Went to the only Lexus showroom in JB. Went to see the car itself i felt very underwhelmed of the car's dimension. Build quality was typical Lexus, tip top and solid. However the SERIOUS LACK of cabin space for the front passengers and drivers, and the low riding roof line made the car pretty much a joke. Me as a considerably short guy had just barely 2" of headroom when I sat in the back seat. So if u are 170cm and above and plans be chauffered around in a CT200h, I wished that your journey is smooth and bumpless, for even the slightest jolt on the road would serve as a headbanger for u. Btw i didnt make it to test drive the car. Needed to go watch MI4 with a CKT mix Sushi...

That's my point.. Factory-stock turbo cars doesn't comes with BOV. It is fitted with re-circulating blow valve. It is not because the NVH was so good like u mention in your review.
So, why are u expecting to hear the BOV again?
LOL me poor kid.. Most turbo cars i came came across so far are those Wiralution and Wajalution.. U know me from JB lah.. So used to listening to BOV sound.. When silent BOV started to become popular time only i realised there was such thing as a silent BOV.. Not so familiar in turbocharging a car.. Only had experience pimping up a Wira becoming a wiralution..
