Hi,

I am going to buy curtain and curtain rail for my windows...but I am not sure how to take correct measurement for curtain and curtain rail..

if my windows is 5 ft height and 5 ft width, how many additional length should I add to top bottom left and right side? and how to determine the length of rail/track if wooden rod is used..

and for L-shape corner windows, how to take correct measurement too?

please give me a guideline..

thanks a lot..

Make few measurement

- Width of your windows
- Height of your windows
- From floor to your windows top
- If any of your windows have low ceiling say few, less than 12 inches between the ceiling and the top of your windows. You need to take note and also let the seller know.

- Also take note if you have a/c water pipe or any electric wires around that area. If not once drill... you will have more headache.

Happy hunting, This is an expensive things. My wife spend a lot in Baagus.

Don't know, no time to compare. Spend over 4k just for curtain. Dam things are not cheap.

May I know you use aluminium trails or wooden trails?...if look for modern design, which type more suitable?

Is there any one-piece L wooden trails in market for corner windows?

I use the aluminum rails, is easier to open and close the curtain because it have small wheels. The wooden type, not easy to push or pull.

The standard measurement is 4 inches above the window frame .
However if you have day curtain and night curtain...then the day curtains is 4 inches above the frame. Night curtains is 8 inches above the frame.

Try asking around curtain makers like Macys, Kamdar, etc.. This was the advise I got from one of the curtain makers at the big textile shop in Mines.
