My two latest hauls.

Ferrari FF - Mattel just keeps getting better and better with the Elite. No question that this is the best Elite to date.

Lovely. I especially like the custom Veyron. rclxms.gif Of all things, you chose one of the hardest one which is a Veyron. How many parts did you have to dismantle to paint it? I think you left the original black part untouched right?

Yeah, seeing your pics, the FF is not a bad car to get even though it's not a favourite Ferrari for me. I will certainly will not pay a BBR or MR price since the Elite looks very good. besides, have to save money. Too many cars to distract me. sad.gif

ps thanks hammer, carried it <10min not that heavy la
Congrats on your first haul. Looks like more and more people are becoming serious collectors. The pages and post also move so fast. Nice to see this hobby growing.

Is that from Kyosho or Autoart's newest one? Is it me or the engine bonnet does not close properly?

Yup I pre-ordered it. I ordered it through my company since I am working in a BMW dealer.
Cool. I'm actually looking at the 1:18 Le Mans 2010 BMW M3 GT2 No.78 and No.79 (Jeff Koons Art Car). Can you PM me if you can find this? Thanks.

Yes, it's cumbersome. Have to use back the original diecast box to transport them safely.

QUOTE(dawghause @ Feb 26 2012, 07:25 PM)
Wait a 959 faster than an F40?
The myth holds that the F40 was built to be faster than the 959, just because the Porsche beat the 288GTO in the top speed stakes.
The F40 was the first car to break the 200mph (320km/h) barrier.
Though having said that the 959 gets to 100km/h from standstill faster at 3.7 seconds because of its 4wd compared to the F40's 3.8 seconds.
Irony would have it that the 959 and F40 marked the two great divisions of the supercar world, with the 959's blend of long distance touring comfort and 4wd security spawning the supercar side where the Bugatti Veyron occupies. While the F40 would become the inspiration for the likes of the Porsche Carrera GT where lightweight begats performance.

Would love to have that in my collection though, you selling?
I believe the F40 is faster on a track. But looking at century sprints alone, the 959 is faster. Actually, it's more like 3.6s on the 959 vs 3.9s on the F40. In a short run, the 959 4WD makes up for any tyre slip during starting and puts better power to the ground. After the century sprint and all the way to the 200km/hr mark, the F40 takes the lead due to slightly higher horsepower and torque. On a track, the F40 is a much faster race car.

Anyway, if everything on the engine being equal, 4WD cars usually have higher weight and higher drag on the drivetrain and will usually be slower than a 2WD car in a straight line.
