i dun like that dolphin recently requested the permission to start at boot. why should a browser need that kind of access/ permission?

i know this has been discussed before... but was there any outcome. sorry but was not really able to online the last few days... perhaps can put this as FAQ?!

Q1. Hissing sound from the charger. I do get that as well. Have read many users also faced that. I recall someone replying that it could be due to grounding or sth like that. The thing is... this hissing/ buzzing sound... is not really loud and i noticed that after a few hours, the sound is no longer there (especially if charge overnight and try to listen to it the next morning).

Q2. While charging... I noticed some parts of the screen is not as sensitive. again, I recall many also mentioned this and again, could this be due to grounding?i didn't get this with sgs2. Will both Q1 and Q2 kill the Note over long term?

Q3. Yes... This phone does lag a bit. It could be just after waking up the phone or something... But sometimes, my touch takes 1-2 seconds to register. it usually happens at the beginning when i start to use the phone -- maybe the phone just woke up or something. example: i touch the message button and sometimes it takes 1-2 seconds before the message screen appears. again, comparing with sgs2, i've not faced such a thing before. still, in 1 day... maybe this happens only like 2-3 times la... so its a small issue.

Can anyone check and confirm? Mine is giving the buzzing/ hissing sound -- but its quite soft and you need to really be close to hear it.

cut cost?!? i dunno... coz compared to sgs2... sgs2 came with normal charger + USB cable. with the note's travel charger, the save 1 cable. the travel charger uses the same USB cable.

sgs2... i used to leave charger @ home and bring usb cable to office... easy to charge. now... have to carry both... worry 1 part left behind... the whole thing cannot use.

very different...

besides the A (output), sgs2 charger is a single piece... cable is 'together' with the adapter and not detachable like what we have with note.

i guess i might give Samsung a call and see if this is considered a defect... i am concerned about long term effects... since it also affects the screen sensitivity during charging. also, i'll probably test with the sgs2 charger and see if the screen is also affected.

i prefer sth that is 'rubbery' for better grip. those like those gloss thingy... that's why i dun like white version. its gloss...

but those gecko mat thingy?!? i just saw a groupon promo for it... though not sure it can hold note's weight.

just curious... the sides... are they hard (maybe got plastic or metal inside) or over long period, will become 'bendable'?

your fren dun seem to really know about android... sure he's a fren?!?

you can happily use android out of the box. heck, no need to even install programs on your computer (like say iTunes) to copy/ sync files...

if you rely a lot on Google, then all the better. if not, still good to go out of the box.

anyway, heavy users should be quite happy with note. i'm quite happy... with the note, i'm quite confident the battery can last me 12-14hrs... tested it on the first week as i was doing 'battery conditioning' then. however, now when i'm in office, i keep it plugged it (via usb on my computer).

maxis... very, very unlikely they will be offering any more samsung products. someone commented they have removed all samsung products from their site -- too lazy to go to their website and check.

seriously, no one knows what maxis will do in future. but the way things are going, its very unlikely they will launch Note. maxis is not known to be last to bring in a phone... note is already sold by digi and celcom.

i tested Map Quest and 30mins drained something like 15% of the battery. btw, MapQuest kinda sucks...

personally, no necessary to have to get a bundle from telco, right? just buy outright la...

i originally wanted to buy from telco but in the end, decided to just buy outright from SEP. reasons:
* digi won't let me test the phone till i puas2 before i take that set. my concern is dead pixel. phone screen already so small, if got 1-2 dead pixel, cannot exchange -- even Samsung won't layan as they have criteria for dead pixel.
* 1 yr vs 2 yrs warranty. so consider the extra i pay to SEP as warranty purchase la...
* SEP let me test puas2 before taking the set. even agreed to let me test new unit if i m not happy with first set.

yes... it should work as it uses some magnetic/ induction field... something like that la...

ya... tried before and it is ok. not sure what you mean by lag...

tried between note and sgs2.

oh ya... i was kinda surprised there's an option to actually record the video call. you can actually record the other party... yes, i tested and it works. i think the format saved is 3gp though.

update2:
so be careful and dun be notti when calling samsung note owners (not sure if the function is available on other phones). never know if your video call is being recorded. <-- not sure if the other caller gets prompted abt the video recording taking place. ya... could be a privacy concern for some.

once in a while... occasionally when the camera/ subject move to fast -- like when caller showing you hamster running around, etc... then it gets pixelated a bit. but otherwise, quite good la...

of course dun expect 1080p quality video. i think video call quality... quite low quality in general (for all phones). just that with the bigger screen, the 'low quality' becomes more obvious.

i recall someone mentioned on sgs2 thread... its normal after a phone reboot, etc... but after gallery 'detects' all your phones, etc... it should be quite fast after that.

i just noticed when i go to market.android.com, there's a new section for movie rentals... hmm... anyone tried it? or not available for MY?
