6 times a day or a week? Anyway, I don't mean to be rude but for now stop listening to your body because 100 crunches won't bring you anywhere

Let me give u this scenario , every time you work out you're tearing down your muscle fibres , imagine rubbing a sand paper to your palm, you keep tearing down your muscle fibres without resting, equivalent to rubbing the sand paper again and again before your palm even have a chance to heal. Do you think that is more harm done or good?

Yes u r rite - according to a study quoted in Men's Health, u need 250,000 crunches to lose 1lb. of fat!

And rite again u are abt tearing dn of muscle tissues - i'm not sure but i think might be called catabolism.

A proper weight training regime with a good diet plan would be good enough to be losing weight. Heck, cardio could be omitted if the diet is clean enough.catabolismn is when your body has nothing to feed on and they turn to your muscle for energy because that is the easiest resource. To avoid that, eat every 2 - 3 hours

Yeah thanks. noted. But i work on different parts every now and then.
I don't work on the same parts every single day.

Abs every now and then because according to my guy fren who has awesome abs and arms.. he told me that stomach muscles heal the fastest.
I work on my arms twice a week.
And my thighs 3 times a week.
Cardio every single day. What i do for cardio: skip the rope 200-300 times, walk up&down the stairs for 20 times and I hula hoop for 20 mins a day.

Abs every now and then because according to my guy fren who has awesome abs and arms.. he told me that stomach muscles heal the fastest.
as for my arms twice a week.
And my thighs 3 times a week.
Cardio every single day. What i do for cardio: skip the rope 200-300 times, walk up&down the stairs for 20 times and I hula hoop for 20 mins a day.

Hit the gym once a week: i cycle and jog for 20 mins each.

its funny when a girl has a blur moment we all laugh it off

when a guy does that here....oh boy lol.   biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

anyways, 6 days a week isnt so bad, if you keep your workouts short its a pretty good thing to do. the advice given, other than you're doing too much is pretty much still valid, so good luck in your progress!

Noticed that too. And no one here has screamed "Read the stickies!" yet.
And no one has put in a testosterone driven post too. Just saying yo.

On a separate note, ditching weight training is sub-optimal.

that is because she had yet to post to a proper reply on her WORKOUT routine and diet plan. Look at how vague her answers are. Initially I kept stressing GOOD TRAINING ROUTINE AND DIET PLAN , eventually I just gave up because some one liners came out of nowhere cheering her on with what she's doing now which is a big mess.

Let me get this across VERY VERY CLEAR, you want to lose weight ? Weigh train, choose a proper WORKOUT routine and stick with it. Darklight has mentioned it somewhere about studies where you can run like headless chicken for so long and burn so little, stick with weight training, the calories burnt are way over the top and you rev up the metabolism crazy. You wanna burn fat? Rev that metabolism.

Why do I say choose a proper routine, because you haven't got a clue about what you're doing considering your reply. Stick with weight training BECAUSE they incorporate movements, COMPOUND movements. The more muscle fibers gets utilize the more GH one will have released in the body BUT at the same time, THE MORE MUSCLE FIBERS gets utilize THE MORE CALORIES you're going to burnt.

Your personal belief on the total package including crunches is only right to a certain point, you think crunches will give you abs? Yes, BUT not doing them will give you abs as well , just ask Darklight. It's all about dropping bodyfat levels, not a million crunches a day. And let this be very clear, you can build as much muscle as you want, but if you don't drop the body fat level, there is only so much toning you can to your body. The reason women you admire so much are so toned up is because they train hard, eat good , rest well, BUILD MUSCLES AND DROPPED THEIR BODY FAT LEVELS. So aim for that.

And eat properly if you want to lose weight, one CAN NEVER OUT TRAIN A BAD DIET.

Aim for 5 - 6 meals a day of SLOW DIGESTING CARBS and LEAN PROTEIN and GOOD FATS. Have a cheat MEAL not DAY once every week or so. You want a toned up body, you need muscles, SO FEED YOUR MUSCLES. Don't try to reinvent the wheel, keep things simple , follow this to the T and you will achieve what you want.

I used to work out in gym and drink protein but I realized I m building up muscles thus I stop all those strenuous weight lifting. What I have done for this month is: 1) went for early jog at 5am around 4km 2) went for dance class everyday if possible 3) pingpong or badminton training twice a week 4) swim occasionally and I lost 3kg in this month!!!! biggrin.gif

See protein supplementation is for when you cant get enough protein into your body.

For example, if you need around 600g of carbs 450g of protein a day for your body, and if you can't eat 6 solid meals to get that covered/ lack of time for 1 or 2 meals, then sure , by all means have a shake. But never try to use a protein supplement to replace your whole nutritional needs, you need your solid whole food. And the way I take my shakes, is when I'm too lazy to cook or when I'm really tired, I just put in some protein powder with some oatmeal and there's one meal, of course the amount comes down to how much your body needs.

So if on non training days you can't get enough protein down, then down a shake to boost it up, no harm done.

It was meant for the TS but you mentioned about when having confusions to message me in the pm, follow this staple. You don't have to do exact but it's a good bare bone guideline to go with and I also explained about why to do this and not that as such in the quote.
