I don't think I'm fat just a little flabby on my arms and thighs. I've got a baby tummy too. But it's going away. Been working out for 34-35 days now. I'm taking protein now.

I work on my arms twice a week, thighs(most squatting&stretching 2-3times a week, cardio (skipping, walking up&down the stairs 20x's) & hula-hooping every single day, and tummy every alternative days.

My baby tummy is going down. My curves are more obvious now. Is it normal if ur tummy doesn't go down even after working out for a month? I'm sure it takes months of
Months of time to get rid of it completely right?

I asked my guy fren who works out and etc. he told me protein is suitable for everyone. It isn't gender bias.

I guess Asian girls are just paranoid of lifting even just a little bit of weights right? That's d main reason why we seldom
See Asian girls with toned up body.

:/

SORRY PEPS, DIDN'T REALISE MY TYPO. SUPPOSED TO BE 6 TIMES A WEEK. OMG. doh.gif LOL -___-

no it wasn't a typo.. i work out 6 times a day and it has been a month now. lol. not joking. i kinda got the determination after a heart break to work out consistently. A little sad but working out makes me healthier and it boost up my confidence even more. That's why i chose to take protein now..

Will work out hard for at least 3 months. Then i'll maintain to 3 times per week. haha. It's not wrong to work out 6x's a week right?

Added on November 27, 2011, 11:24 pmI weighed around 50-51kg. Height: 156cm. tat's quite short, so im really determined to get ride of those flabs areas. U tend to look shorter when u're bigger. A theory i've came out with. lol

If my body can manage 6 times a week, then it shouldn't be a prob right? haha. I'm don't lift crazy weights tho. Just normal 4lb dumb-bells. I hit the gym once a week to lift real weights (up to 10kg at least) My fren personally knws a girl who has nice curves and she has lean muscles. She does yoga, cardio and even lift weight all 3 at the same time. She works out 3 times a week and takes protein. As for me, I'm not that intense I do what my body is capable of doing. Say 100 crunches-120 crunches. If I can't do more than 100, I'll stop. I do what my body tells me to do. If my muscles feel really stiff, i'll stop doing after a couple of times. It's okay right? lol

tummy takes the longest to go, be patient.. yes protein isn't gender bias, asian girls are afraid that the protein might give them muscles instead of curves, that's all.

Alrighty. thanks for the encouragement. Sometimes I get discourage. But i still manage to convince myself. lol. nod.gif I told myself that maybe i've lost few inches/ cm it's just that I myself didn't realise that i've been losing that few cm's.

Oh man, and I thought you made a typo. razorboy's post explains why it IS a problem. Which is why it'd be much better to hit the gym 3, maybe 4 times a week, train muscle groups separately, let them rest, and then repeat it the next week.
Also, lifting really light weights isn't going to do anything.

That's right. Noted with many thanks guys! smile.gif ! I won't strain my muscles with such intense workout anymore. Thanks a lot! smile.gif smile.gif

6 times a day or a week? Anyway, I don't mean to be rude but for now stop listening to your body because 100 crunches won't bring you anywhere
Let me give u this scenario , every time you work out you're tearing down your muscle fibres , imagine rubbing a sand paper to your palm, you keep tearing down your muscle fibres without resting, equivalent to rubbing the sand paper again and again before your palm even have a chance to heal. Do you think that is more harm done or good?
*
Yeah thanks. noted. But i work on different parts every now and then.
I don't work on the same parts every single day.

Abs every now and then because according to my guy fren who has awesome abs and arms.. he told me that stomach muscles heal the fastest.
I work on my arms twice a week.
And my thighs 3 times a week.
Cardio every single day. What i do for cardio: skip the rope 200-300 times, walk up&down the stairs for 20 times and I hula hoop for 20 mins a day.

Gotta know what you're doing when you're saying 6 times a day. What exactly are you doing in each of your 6 workouts a day? Just curious.
The guys got the other areas covered.
*
Heys, this is what I do..

I work on my:

Abs every now and then because according to my guy fren who has awesome abs and arms.. he told me that stomach muscles heal the fastest.
as for my arms twice a week.
And my thighs 3 times a week.
Cardio every single day. What i do for cardio: skip the rope 200-300 times, walk up&down the stairs for 20 times and I hula hoop for 20 mins a day.

Hit the gym once a week: i cycle and jog for 20 mins each.

List down your routine and diet plan

My daily routine, I eat, sleep, workout go to college, study, and sleep. lol

My diet plan : I take protein early in the morning, I eat wholemeal grain bread and a glass of low fat milk for breakfast,
as for lunch I take mainly carbs and protein eg: Noodles/ rice+chicken/fish, for snack I blend my very own fruit juice/ yogurt juice, after my workout in the evening i take another round of protein and proceed to dinner. No rice for dinner. I'll either be taking wholemeal bread or merely eating vegetables, chicken dishes cooked by my grandma.

I spoil myself once/ twice a week : Dessert/McD/ maybe rice for dinner.

That's my diet plan for this one month.

Muscles are muscles, they heal and build at the same rate.
I'm thinking too much ab work for a female, you don't want a midsection that's too thick. Get a proper training program that covers your whole body rather than certain parts like arms and thighs.
*
Im currently using Karena and Katrina's workout video. (ToneItUp)
I want to have those bodies. lol

Here are the videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYMw1K_vEd4...=watch_response (thighs)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6ZTzUEtPTI&feature=relmfu (abs)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihok8WJnVd4&feature=fvwrel (arms)

These are really basics workout I would say. Will be doing this for this 3 months then I'll maybe lift more weights in the future.
I'm not aiming for packs but I'm aiming for nice, flat and toned up tummy. Yeap, I'll reduce on crunches once my baby tummy is gone.. haha. It's still there even after one month. =( It's crazy how u can gain so much of fat so fast and to get rid of it is like killing urself. It takes lots of time and consistency and most importantly discipline to really want a real result. =/

When you say arms, do you refer to biceps, triceps? What about chest and shoulders?
And what do you do for your thighs?

I think rather than having random cardio, try doing HIIT and start lifting heavier.
*
Currently using these 3 videos to carry out my work out routine:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYMw1K_vEd4...=watch_response (thighs)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6ZTzUEtPTI&feature=relmfu (abs)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihok8WJnVd4&feature=fvwrel (arms)

I will focus on other parts and lift more weights after 3 months. Shall work on basic first ya? icon_rolleyes.gif

Cuz my schedule is pretty pack this semester. Most probably I'll only start hitting the gym more frequent next yr around Feb. I have only 3lb and 4lb dumb-bells at home. so yea.. sad.gif

anyways, 6 days a week isnt so bad, if you keep your workouts short its a pretty good thing to do. the advice given, other than you're doing too much is pretty much still valid, so good luck in your progress!

Anyway, thanks a lot for ur piece of encouragement there. It means a lot. I'll do what I can do at my level best . smile.gif

that is because she had yet to post to a proper reply on her WORKOUT routine and diet plan. Look at how vague her answers are. Initially I kept stressing GOOD TRAINING ROUTINE AND DIET PLAN , eventually I just gave up because some one liners came out of nowhere cheering her on with what she's doing now which is a big mess.

Hi razorboy, I'll try to incorporate what u've said earlier. Thanks for the long reply. Will take note on what u've said. Thanks again. smile.gif btw, is it okay to consume protein even if u don't work out?

See protein supplementation is for when you cant get enough protein into your body.

So if on non training days you can't get enough protein down, then down a shake to boost it up, no harm done.

Alright, thanks for the advise razorboy. smile.gif

This is getting really confusing! Lol. I'm eating moderately now 4-5 meals a day. Mostly on wholegrain/oat Bread with eggs, Plus skim milk n low fat yogurt. I take rice once in awhile. Not much. Managed to work on my shoulders& chest with 9kg weight now. smile.gif I've added burpees into my cardio training. Drink protein twice a day. Just bought two tubs of VPX whey protein today. Haha. I think protein helps me in many ways. I've gained weight btw, not that im getting fatter. But I think I'm building more muscles, thus the increase.

Okay! Noted. One more thing, should I work on one part per day or work on chest, arms and shoulders all in a day? Full body workout works best or part by part? Nt wanting to be bulky. I only want nice curves.. Haha

If you are eating enough protein, you don't really have to drink it twice a day. Calculate it based on your body weight. Espcially for girls, if say 1g x 120lbs = 120g protein. Achievable by eating 2 chicken breasts plus 2 eggs.

Added on December 6, 2011, 5:03 pm

You won't be bulky unless u start injecting testoterone into your body. I think the guys here are doing 2 parts per day. I split to only upper body and lower body. I see that you only focus on upper body. What do you do for your lower body?
*
I skip the rope alternative days. I do burpees for 10mins alternative days too. Cycle n jog once a week. Walk up n down the stairs 20x's. What's ur advise on upper part? One part a day or full upper part one
Go?

They're useful for when you really can't get to the gym. (like if it happens to close a lot, like mine doh.gif ) I have the green one from Fitness Concept and you can get a decent workout depending on how you use it.

Ok noted. Will use those bands during my finals. I've been lifting 4lb dumbbells at home. I have 3 lb, 4lb,!those rubber band stretchers and a pair of weighted gloves. I hit the gym not so often but when I do I lift 9kg weights. Will hit the gym more often. Getting few guy partners to guide me with those weights. Not sure which equipments are
For which part. So yeah.. Haha.
