QUOTE(Ban-kun @ Apr 13 2012, 10:52 PM) Was looking at the 300 and 500, but 500 is out of my budget Do planar magnetic phones work with solid state amps? Or does it require tubes to sound its best? before you decide SS or tube, do consider the power both needs (i dont know how much power is needed on them), make a comparison of which sounds better to you, not people tell you what sounds best for you

QUOTE(PowerSlide @ May 7 2012, 12:40 PM) second this, sorry didnt buy trident from you the trident is joy to listen, controlled bass and superb build quality guys, i got fetish for female vocal is the goldring dr50 or grado sr60i good for vocal? or any other recommendation? if sr60i is somewhere close to alessandro ms1i, then i say not fit for female vocals, they are bright sounding, and feels like a flashbang if on female vocals, they are more on the metal songs and stuff with heavy guitars

QUOTE(csb1001 @ May 11 2012, 05:52 PM) heard that if with volume control, user often have to control the volume for each song, is it true? might be a placebo effect, since they will be quite dependent on the control as it is convenient, so they will keep on playing with the vol controls This post has been edited by noobandroid: May 11 2012, 06:12 PM

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ May 12 2012, 08:23 PM) Anyone tested Sonic Gear Earpump Pure and Aura? How do they perform? Just want to listen to some opinions... Balanced armature in those phones... I actually tested them. Anyone want test can find it at lowyat Thundermatch. Frankly speaking, the Pure, despite named "Pure", it bassy, typical Sonic Gear. Didn't get to listen to it nicely. They connected it to their own source, right side of the earphone no sound... Tried the aura too, the built is bad! It won't fit nicely and fitting it wrongly, the sound is totally wrong. If it's not fit nicely, it sounds like RM20 earphone. Too bad I can't get it perfectly fit without holding my hand to push it in. The most important thing is... When I take out, the tip came off and stuck in my ear canal! What is that? My earpump 2 pun no such problem, priced RM23X got such design problem (or accessories problem). Both aura and pure are priced higher than the Feels Pro 900 I won't recommend them to anyone yeah well sonic gear's motto is Built NOT to Last

lets say on my history, yo know i had the ortofon eq7, price goes more than my current dt770/250, but still i go for dt770, why? no need portability, and sq wise is better than of eq7. i think for the same price level or somewhere around there, headphones will perform better, but iem will give u better portability

QUOTE(tunertoobe @ Jun 17 2012, 12:06 PM) Whoops, I guess I was a little slow in editing there. I would go out with the headphone sometimes. The reason with IEMs is that, everytime someone wants to talk to me, or that I have to answer the phone or whatever, I'd have to take them out. They're a bit of a b***h when trying to put back in. then you have to put the factors on a balance, and weight it out yourself, for me, definitely headphone for the go, now my headache is finding a better replacement for my bravo tube, consider upgrade options having owned before ms1i. dt440, dt770, srh440, i'd say srh440 or dt770 will be for you, easy drive and mild wild This post has been edited by noobandroid: Jun 17 2012, 12:17 PM

QUOTE(fazz82 @ Jun 17 2012, 01:37 PM) bro how good dt770 pro in term of definition and overall clarity means that musical interest is rarely held for long. well, for a mid ranged budget, this will do just enough, uncomparable to top tiers, but a great option in mid tiers
