it can play some decently high range games but not extremely well, pretty good already..whatever games that xperia play can play - the SGW can play it too provided it isnt an xperia play exclusive.

some people actually asking a lot of this budget phone. they want it to be able to play high end games, camera must able to compare with decent point and shoot cameras (or even dslr), have excellent call quality, earpiece, cheap, longest warranty, strong body, APE glass..that's the problem.

typical of malaysians to want the cheapest yet best quality product..how can cheap + good quality go together? impossible.

you're right saying that in malaysian pretty much everything is overpriced with our measly salaries, totally agree with you - but what i'm upset is seeing people wanting the SGW to perform or be on par with the SGS II - that's just rubbish. Its like asking myvi to perform just like a honda jazz..that's too much to expect out of a car - same goes for the phone - since its a budget phone with great specs all around, what more could you ask for? Something has to give like no gorilla glass and such..but i see many asking if can play super-high end games with the device...sure can play, no problem...but cannot expect it to perform like SGS II. There'a a reason why there's SGS II and there's a reason why SGW existed - for different market segments...

actually its a bad habit of us to expect a lot out of a cheap product although you could say that the RRP of 999 isn't "cheap" per se but still its cheaper than other offerings with similar or even lousier specs...its a huge step up of HTC's own wildfire S or even desire S to a certain extent..so I honestly dont know why people are still complaining on stuff like "the camera is laggy" or "the photo quality isn't that great"...what u expect out of budget phone? LOL...besides phones were never meant to have good quality cameras with its tiny lenses..

i wont say its not for advanced user - the SGW is a pretty good phone - if you want advanced stuff u can just root it and in time i'm sure many custom ROMs will pop up for sure especially CyanogenMod since the founder was hired by Samsung not too long ago...spec wise it beat my 1 year old Nexus One - the only thing that it lacks compared to my Nexus One is widespread support for custom ROMs and all things custom..but i'm sure that'll change in time since its a fairly new handset.

Anyway, lets not ask too much out of this baby...its not a superphone after all like the SGS II

if i recall correctly samsung devices have this counter so even if u unroot they can tell that you've rooted...

more intuitive yet slows down the phone when you have tons of widgets..even the HTC sensation is a tad slower due to this..touchwiz is actually pretty good and is closer to the stock android experience

put on a screen protector you'll be fine. my nexus one is totally naked without a screen protector also no issues...

as long as you dont simply and purposely scratch it is is fine. if you're worried get a pouch like this one:

For public wifi its normal, a lot cannot work or too congested. this is not the phone problem but the wifi at that place got problem...unless you're trying to tell me on your laptop is fine but on your phone is not fine at the same exact location at the same time...

i think it depends on the game perhaps? try other games that are not so graphics intensive and see if that helps...

you need to enable packet data in wireless & networks > mobile networks area. then switch to 3g/umts mode for 3g, then use skype for 3g video call

sorry, ya that's right - its GSM/WCDMA..GSM = 2G, WCDMA = 3G..

if really worried get from authorised SME/SEP then. expensive but peace of mind.

tell you what even the famous fruit phone also doesnt have this feature. as mentioned by many - smartphones these days do NOT go into low power state when you turn it off. Nokia has it because their phones go into low power state when you "turn it off". That's the reason why alarm still work for those phones. Just leave the phone on standby, go into airplane mode if u worried u might run out of juice while sleeping. I've been using my nexus one as an alarm clock for more than a year and never had any major issues with the battery also..dunno what you guys are complaining till need to turn it off..bah.

asked many times. no word from samsung yet, until there's official word or notice, dont expect it yet. if u really think ICS is that big a deal then get Galaxy S II or Galaxy Note. You can expect unofficial custom ROM ICS build but dont expect official ICS build for Galaxy W just yet.

if got money buy SGS II. Honestly, SGW is actually more than enuf. Even my Nexus One is more than enuf for now. I can use custom rom, root without worrying..still fun..except cannot play much high end games on my phone..for that...i play on my EEE Pad Transformer instead

a bit hard for him i guess..also..when u reach that time..other pple ask u to wait again..then wait..then wait for better phone..end up u keep waiting..but no new phone ^^
