I think malaysia is already in marketplace since i can browse it.
However right now i cant not buy anything
anyone figure how to buy apps without using credit card, maybe by paypal instead?

im HTC radar user, buy early 1 week before i found out Lumia 800 is already in Malaysia market sigh..

WP7 do not have any in box GPS software, Nokia Lumia come with Nokia Navigator which is free. And bigger storage , 8 gig, only 0.1 inch different to radar screen and No front camera and stereo sound loudspeaker make it less good than radar, but i still like lumia more.. =)

so turn out i decided to hard reset my radar in favor of using live id tied to Malaysia region, guess what?

Most of live game is not there, goodbye kinectimal!
No zune and podcast!!
No bing map! only plain location display!
No more turn by turn navigation via bing maps!

Plus point is, now marketplace price is shown in RM, (which is sometime insane, GPS apps for RM300 wtf)
And you can now use malaysia credit card. (but i still receive payment is not authorized bla bla, wondering whether its because im using bankcard..can someone confirm?)

and now your market place is in bahasa melayu, so as your live website although im already set it in english

yup, like im using singapore region on marketplace all transaction made turn out to be S$ instead USD.

GPS app for RM300 WTF!! i could purchase alot apps with 300 man...  hmm.gif

M$ just officially expand their market to our region on 3rd of feb, perhaps we should wait alittle bit longer before our region market really can see all those standard apps and games and fixing the currency rate here.  shakehead.gif

Yup i was thinking the same too. But till then, im switch back to us account to get the benefit i get earlier. Btw should i use singapore account instead? Can u buy apps via credit card if using us account and address?

Trying to use our local credit cards in US region marketplace is much more difficult than Singapore. But you can try.

As for the RM300 GPS app, I think that's for the Garmin one right? Everyone was screaming about how crazy it was when they released it.

But the main thing is.. Selecting Malaysia as your Live ID account works now? Website still doesn't show Malaysia.
*
Yup it works now, confirmed, can download as usual . but the marketplace kinda empty, its understandable for day 1 announce. Developers need to reset their apps so its available worldwide, hope they alert and fix their apps soon. You dont need to go to xbox live or zune to add your credit card, marketplace is configured to malaysia first time you load it, from there you can continue with buying by using credit card. No need to add you credit card. Its every time buying only. So i think we should not worry if we have over spending.

Yes its for garmin, the funny thing is , they dont even have malaysia map in it. But from what i can see, all apps price are multiply by 3 for malaysian market, its good they dont use actual currency exchange i think..

Work around is to set your browser & search region setting to US. You can use it again! Thanks god the browser and application is not actually tied with your account as google does. Hope they leave it this way, atleast before our region is support again.

Well, part of the agreement with Nokia is for MS to get access to Nokia's OVI map data. So let's see how that turns out.
*
yup. But for Nokia owner only, not for htc, lumia comes out with nokia navigator with free map download worldwide. fingercross to get mine lumia 900 when its come ouf, have front camera.. Or maybe should wait till devicd for apollo come out next year.

Nokia shop at mines also already display the banners, but also no demo yet, they said will be available at Friday. The release is nationwide, but the event only held at our capital and maybe some others big city. Lumia 710 for 999 damn cheap! (with spec almost similar to htc radar), and Lumia 800 for 1650. With Nokia Drive and Navigator, this device is really worth the money. Too bad i just recently bought HTC radar. sigh..

Honestly im glad Nokia and Microsoft team up, Nokia is the real hp maker, and Microsoft is the real OS hardware maker (unlike google) so we can expect continuous support from this giant. But without Nokia, idont think Microsoft will ever care about us at small nation.

Nokia has been in Asia for long time already, common sense if its not because of Nokia, WP7 and Marketplace will never officially available in Malaysia.

So guys, raise your support to Nokia! and Microsoft (So they can improve this nice phone os)!

So i bought this apps with my maybank card, its the first app i bough, mobudget,

The problem is when i bought this, at the same time when i add my maybankcard, so preauthorization fee is only on activation, not on Mobudget, now Microsoft keep email me saying going to ban my account if i dont change method of payment. huhu

Anyway others apps i bought after have no problem to bill, first preauthorization the exact amount of apps, then refund, then debit from account..

So what should i do now? anyone have any idea? i dont want my account to get banned, and i dont have any other card to add.huhu

Yup, so am I. Could be we're using debit card? Or Local  card with singapore regions & postcode? What i did , just login to m$ billing and change the payment name
E.g
Maybank Visa Debit Card

Next time whenenver you buy again m$ will asking about changing payment type , login Change the name. "My Maybank Visa Debit Card" that's what I did to kept my accout actived. Quite hassle but hey as long we could buy apps from marketplace.
*
THANKS A LOT BRO!!

You are my savior! love u
haha, now can pay for the mobudget, very nice cash organizer, i thought there is no cash organizer for WP7, thats what actually refrain me from switching to WP7 from WM6.5, used to use CASH ORGANIZER, whats good for WP7 and others OS marketplace is the price is much2 lower than before..

So just change to Lumia 800 after 1 and half month using HTC Radar,

So here is what i think,

+HTC Radar screen is much better - white is white, not yellowish.
+HTC Radar screen is bigger, and very apparent when playing ilomilo compared to Lumia 800
+HTC Radar loudspeaker is much better, crystal clear, stereo and surround
+HTC Radar has internet sharing and out of the box DLNA support
+HTC Radar has front camera
+HTC Radar GPS is much faster
+HTC Radar has much more camera setting, burst mode, panorama, Sharpness
+HTC Radar pictures are much clearer
+HTC Radar camera are much better even in the dark
+HTC Radar flash is very intense!
+HTC Radar has face detection and smile detection I think.
+Lumia 800 has Nokia Drive
+Lumia 800 has Nokia Radio
+Lumia 800 has 16gb memory
=Lumia 800 has 1.4gz cpu, not significant though
-Lumia 800 tends to get warm after several time browsing.
-Lumia 800 Monster headphone is gimmick' really no real distinction. sound better when used with other phone. lol
+Lumia 800 is beautiful
= HTC Radar battery capacity is higher, Lumia with black theme both can stay half at the end of the day with data plan.

I hate to say this, but i think Lumia 800 is overprice and HTC Radar is better, if HTC Radar is 16gb, and come out of the box GPS software. it will be perfect!

One question, can you check your focus mode for the Lumia, see if it's on Macro or not? I don't have any fresh devices to test but I have this nagging suspicion its set to Macro by default.

I also have both devices (Lumia for my wife)

I don't really see much difference about the color issue, but then again those things don't bother me unless he color is off by a lot. Physical screen size is a personal preference, some like it big some like it small.

Internet sharing is why I gave my wife the Lumia and I kept the Radar tongue.gif

I guess I should go through a proper comparison process and see how the 2 stack up.

You were right the camera is set to macro by default. Could this be the reason?
And one more thing missing! No face detection in Lumia. But you will only notice all of this if you made a phone transition , if Lumia is your first phone. You won't notice this. i think they should add face detection since we news to flip the phone to snap our own face :-P

so whoever using Lumia, u must not turn off your auto focus from macro to standard.
Because its very silly, i try to snap hp number my boss give me. guess what it is unreadable even you touch focus on the number. very stupid.. then later figured that i turn off the focus macro setting.

I wish its more like Radar. every focus is auto
