I have updated my lumia 800 . But don't feel much different, and my radar still sound much better, btw great job though.

Conventional way by uploading it to skydrive,
another way is to download file downloader, transfer it via wifi

Added on March 8, 2012, 9:25 ami push sg fw update to my my region hp lumia, apart of my version number has change, no other significant change, including battery life. i have no problem with battery life before, i think the update only meant to people with lumia battery dead overnight.
or actually the fw update is just broken because im not using sg set. thats not in my knowledge..lol

Yup no usb mass storage as for now, but expect it with future firmware update.
WP7 is start from scratch with limited function and getting better with consumer feedback thru os update.

Ni im not using that method. I use cab sender, download the firmware cab and by using push sender the phone will upgrade it themself, by using this method you retain all your setting. Better yet, now I have bass with my Nokia Lumia, lol.. You need to check via xda forum for details

But sound still not as great as radar, maybe because no SRS integration, I wonder whether srs is hardware or software limitation.

Last time use cab sender to update 12070 by using singapore one, my battery drop to lower than half at 1 pm, then decide to flash back to old fw..
If in this week still no official update from zune will need to do cab sender method again.. huhu

If im not mistaken, other native code to remove restriction for developer are already in the work, starting with tango update. This give room for developers the freedom they need and lift their limit

i think opengl is graphic accelerator, not really a code and android apps also come from apis from google

yup you are right. its cross platform graphic library. i think similar to directx, unreal engine.
But one of the source said, microsoft will enable native code c+ starting with apollo update. and opengl is derive from C+, then i think there is some light in there..

Go for radar for superb sound, display, vibration, phone function, internet speed, bug free, internet sharing, front camera. that is if you are casual user and not into Nokia navigator and 16gb. there is third party gps software in the market already. and after install everything you will be at minimum has 4gb of free space remaining.

So go for radar. Or wait for lumia 900

I bought my lumia 800 for 1650 when it first announce in malaysia. in one month the price drops tu 1350. Feel so rugi.

Need to wait for official pricr for unbranded 900, only can estimate.the final price for Malaysia. Since lumia 800 international price with Malaysia announced is tally.

but don't think I will switch to another windows phone for a while, too lazy to reinstall again all the apps and erase all the setting. I wish WP has backup function...

Tried the new location app on my sis htc radar, superb.. Poor nokia drive on my lumia 800.

I think HTC location navigation is easier, to be honest I switch from HTC radar to lumia 800 because the lack of navigation software. Now that they have one, radar/titan is complete already. I don't mind paying extra 26usd for Unlimited use.

I think whether we have upgrade to wp8 or not, its only our concern, us wp7 user. Not the rest of consumer out there.

So m$ not losing anything, we bought their product already.

But since we are the backbone of their products, from the time wp7 is nothing, we should at least have a taste of the update.

Im using lumia 800, but this is not my verdict phone, as this phone still lacking front camera. Im still thinking to get a new phone, titan 2 or lumia 900. So not receiving update, will only make me buy a new phone. Maybe official wp8 device.

But without update, Im sure by that time, expert out there already found a way to install custom rom on our device. =)

Added on June 5, 2012, 10:50 pmhurm Nokia 920 what u guys post earlier very contradict with Nokia spokeperson said. there will be no plan for multi core cpu, it just run out your battery. they dont have plan for dual core, let alone quad core for 920. keep on dreaming.

u wrong, wp8 support single core at least, but able to also run on multicore.
as they already said, if ever our current wp is able to be upgrade to wp8, we wont be able to njoy wp8 features (higher screen resolution, NFC, Multi core cpu), so in my opinion, in term of hardware, i will just wait for wp8 device since i already own lumia 800. but if im about to switch to win phone, i will just go to lumia 900, since i think its complete already (front face, and bigger screen)

ok i read thru all the post, i havent post for awhile .

1. SG account has better apps, since it has lunch very long time already. Current apps submission already auto submit to worldwide, so i guess malaysia marketplace also getting better.
2. By register to m'sia marketplace, your region auto set to malaysia, bring bahasa melayu menu. You can always change the language again in setting, language and region.
3. My maybankcard ATM and bank islam mastercard work with SG marketplace. But of course malaysia marketplace provided you give them singapore address. But malaysia marketplace work better in adding this card. if you dont need all the latest apps, msia one is ok
4. it is very most likely our current wp7.5 device will not be able to upgrade to wp8, they just release final wp7.7 release just to make apps for wp8 work on wp7.5 device. better wait for wp8 if you guys are gadget freak. Probably around end of 2012

So its official, our current devices are not upgradeable to winphone 8. Only 7.8
Sharing the same interface with window phone 8.

Im glad i know this, now im not tempted to switch to lumia 900

they also good at software and hardware..
their hp currently superior than nokia.

with WP8. Nokia drive is integrated to all OEM. So i definitely will go to HTC if it is cheaper than nokia phone.

manual update it myself.. lol.
but after apply oem update, lumia 800 act weird, cannot access some setting.
