try to restore. if problem still there, its hardware issue. eligible for warranty claim if you still have any warranty.

prolly its the earpiece issue or else the front camera ribbon. As this ribbon its interconnected with earpice pluggin to the motherboard in order to establish connection.

The power button on my iphone 4S is stuck, basically i can't press it. So now i can't switch it off unless the battery dies or put it on standby without it automatically doing so.
Is this easily fixed and know where i can send the phone for repair?

You need to replace the power flex cable. You can diy if you know how or get a reliable repairman to do it for you.
Check out services noticeboard section for repairman. smile.gif

Hi, My phone has the problem
So i have turned it off, done the holding of the homescreen, waited for it to restore but onces it turns on it still comes up with needing my PASScode to unlock my phone, which I cant remember!! and is how i disabled my phone in the first place
Once it turns on it gives you one go at the passcode and then its disabled again, so ive tried this process a few times. What else is there left for me to try?
I ALWAYS have the same passcode but for some reason i decdied to change it to something else; I have a 5s, so ive been using my finger scan instead of passcode until the batter ran out one day, had to turn it on and this is where i couldnt remember the passcode and disabled it, pls help

i am sorry to hear about your predicament but at the same time, i am very surprised at how can you forget the passcode in which you have entered as security. are you sure you have totally NO idea what passcode you entered? it must have been a number in which you associated with very well.

there is no problem with your iPhone. the problem is you forgot your passcode. that is all.

anyway, restarting the 5S will prompt you for the security passcode despite the fact that the fingerprint ID is set up.

i think there is no way to bypass the security passcode prompt stage otherwise, Apple's efforts all these while to implement securities on their iPhones will be futile. all i can think of now is to factory reset the whole phone making it forget everything and setting it up as a new, only that this time while connected to iTunes, you choose "backup from previous".

question is, when was the last time you backed up your phone and what are the things that you chose to back up. if i am not mistaken, iCloud doesn't back up EVERTHING.

check out the post made by "wjosten", 2nd from the bottom. hope it helps but you need to remember the registered Apple ID or password associated to the phone otherwise i think you are pretty much a sitting duck. either go back to your telco provided (if you are on contract or Mac Store, if you purchased the handset sim free)

Here is the story, i had iPhone 4S ( 7.0.4_11B554A ) in hands now. The WiFi suddenly not working, ive do factory reset within the phone and it does not solve the problem.

So i tried hard reset/restore using iTunes, connect my phone > click restore, and it does the downloads but after finished downloading, iTunes stated that the files downloaded is corrupted.

So then i tried the manual way, I downloaded the .IPSW file from apple server ( iPhone4,1_7.0.4_11B554a_Restore.ipsw ), when finished, i tried it and i received Unknown Error (14), halfway restoration stops, cant turn on my device, it stucks at recovery mode, and also tried in DFU mode, same error. I tried again with some readings on the net, found a programs named Object Fix, where it can run a test on IPSW file, its turns out its a bad CRC mismatch, and its true as i also converted the IPSW files to zip and turns out the same, CRC mismatch, or, Corrupted files.

After some more thorough reading, i found out that this is Apple's problem, some people managed to get clean ipsw files and some are not, need to continue try downloads the IPSW files until we get the uncorrupted one.

Now my phone stuck at Recovery mode ( iTunes logo with Cable ) cant turn on at all.

What i require a help for all of you is, Do anybody here managed to install iOS 7.0.4 on your 4S successfully using IPSW files?

If yes can i have that file? Or any other suggestion

Best is to try with another computer/lappie.
Make sure your iTunes is the updated version.

For the wifi problem, it's quite common for iPhone 4s. 5 out of 10 users faced this problem. It's due to wifi IC problem. To solve it will need to change this chip.

Why not you put into DFU mode and click restore straight from Apple. When you download from apple i'm sure its the correct one right?

Nope, tried it already..

I put it in DFU mode, then let iTunes download the firmware by itself, its the same.
Once it finished download and wanna proceed flashing, it says the downloaded file is corrupted and request to re-download..

That is why i downloaded it myself and just manually ( hold shift button ) and restore, same error instead it shows Error 14...

I dont bother that WiFi problem, now i just need to turn it back on again...Dayummn apple

Ive tried revert to older iTunes, its the same...

Try with another comp. Direct download from iTunes instead of downloading outsource.
