I see a lot of ppl using these 5v 1amp charger to charge their handphone. or some of them even use the ipad 2A charger to charge the phone.

Just a word of reminder: Plz don't do that so often unless you confirm that your battery can sustain such high current. Else, it'll only damage your battery(shorter life span) or even worst case if the protection circuit goes wrong, explosion  might happens.

Or any1 can confirm that our handphone battery can sustain such high current charging ?
*
android kernel do limit the charging current.
for example:
-my htc desire max charging current on AC is at 1A while 450mA on USB charge
-my gf galaxy s max charging current is set at 650mA and 400-450mA(cant remember) on USB

when i charge my Desire using 2A ipad charger.... the max charging current i can get on my is 850mA

Hi, I read from earlier in the thread that there is no import duty on mobile phones and I will just have to obtain a SIRIM permit which costs RM100 to clear it if it gets held up at the customs. How do I go about obtaining the permit?

Also, has anyone bought their Nexus from Clove UK? Did you have to pay any import taxes? I've read on the FedEx website that FedEx does not charge any additional fees in obtaining the required import licenses, permits or other documents (link).

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

My friend bought 3units from clove UK..... He didn't mention any import taxes nor need to obtain a sirim permit.

give me a day or two to test it out
but i may not give a fair judgement since i have already installed Android Revolution HD (custom ROM) to my GNex
so any battery related n performance review is based on this ROM

updraded to GNex since ARHD is supporting this device and really love his ROM since i use it on my Desire HD

Off Topic: yes.. im an ex UNITEN student graduated 3 years ago.. if u live on campus.. you would have known my intra server back then

how can i check how much current is charging my phone?
since i have a car charger that gives output 2A
my samsung charger give output of 1A
my htc charger give output of 1A
and my clerk's charger give output 0.7A
*
Install battery monitor widget... You'll find that the phone use bout the same amount of current regardless the charger out put current

Well, the Clove Nexus has 2 years of warranty and from what I understand from their FAQs is that I can "contact the manufacturer and book it in for repair" which I should think means there's some sort of international warranty. And it's cheaper than Directd.

when my friend buy from clove.uk.... he bought it around rm2299+shipping....

now direcrtd selling at rm2199....

owww....btw....he use DHL....
