Hello guys,

I bought my Gnex few days ago, from directd in subang.
And I guess it's my purchase that allow directd to drop it to 2499.
I bought it when he is just changing it to 2699. And when their staff asked, I said "I know the price one lar, 2899 ma."
But in real time if I care to checked his post, it would be 2699, stupid me.
But nonetheless, no regrets. I've been waiting for this, and I wouldn't mind it.

Review:
Experience: HTC Desire, Desire Z, Flyer, Aria, Samsung Tab P1000, S2 non g.
Stock Launcher is smooth as baby skin.
Root it at the first chance I have, which is 2 hours after purchase.
Fully charged it, flash with android revolution HD.
Bought battery monitor widget, follow web recommendation, chrarge full, drain full, rinse and repeat.
I'm now at 3rd cycle, and I believe I can accurately say this, Super AMOLED Sucks.
The phone is perfect for me, no question to that. But the screen sucks battery like water.
This phone, in my opinion, is just like Gnote's gsmarena battery test.
Without screen on, eg. on standby, on phonecall is good
With screen on, Web browsing, game, facebook, work (mine is gmil, excel, ftp, camera), it plain sucks battery.
Maybe it's dualcore, maybe it's Super AMOLED ( G2 non g shares the same thing, but I only played with it 2 days before handing it to my gf)
My other phone, Desire (AMOLED) , Desire Z (Super LCD), Aria (Cheapo LCD?), battery drain doesn't gimme the feel of sucking, literaly.
But the battery issue is there, definitely.
I have 2 choix charger, one 2700, one 5000 on standby just for this phone.
Go figure~~

but directd now selling in RM2399

Exactly my point, they are getting desprate, and I just checked diredtd's post after I post the short review.
But nevermind, I can spare a few hundred on this phone, it's worth it
Before anyone asked, I bought 6 inch screen protector and cut to my liking for my Gnex, and ordered from carrymobile 2 leather melkco pouch.
Carry mobile do delivers, experience from my HTC Rhyme melkco pouch, which I'm using now to post in LYN
.
Forgot to mention My HTC Rhyme, the latest slimmest from HTC. Other then fashion statement, it's practicly useless.
If you are even remotely thinking of Rhyme, buy a Desire S, it has more userbase, more option for everything (root, rom, mods)
If all these is not in your consideration, I seriously do not know why would you wamt to tryput android~ seriously.

Plz forgive my spelling mistake, I'm drunk at the moment, almost out~
Some points for Rhyme thou, battery life better then S2 non g, and Gnex.
But my heart is all out for Gnex, don't get me wrong there.

Just got back from sg, they don't have screen protecter yet, searched only in sim lim.
And I'm using digi roaming with starhub 3g, mobile data status on, but no connection almost 50% of the time, maybe it's a starhub thing?
when I'm using maps in sg town, with all the 3d building, I notice some graphic artifacts, phone is in charging state, screen on all the while, map running, and battery temp reach 50 celcius. CPU orGraphic chipset overheat issue?

how is the revolution HD? Is it stable enough for day to day use? From the feedback it seems pretty good.
lol, is it really needed? Maybe just a FAQ section would suffice?
*
Revolution HD is quite stable as far as I can tell, just some games not working, maybe due to ICS 4.0.

Mine is Yakju~
info gotten from Rom toolbox, Build.prop editor,
under ro.product.name

Just ordered loads of accessories from the web, including the Ori car dock.
Ori car dock will be available from 21st Dec, and shipped out from US, arriving around Jan I guess??'
Will update you guys if it fits our GSM model.
Same goes with Melkco leather casing.

yup it is me buying at directd last nite at 9 pm.. after playing not much just setup here n there i notice the batt 1750mah suck!! i need to buy another batt pack.. coz next moth going to phuket.. where to buy batt for nexus? other brand can buy? like momax?
*
Get yourself a battery pack, instead of spending 100+ for a spare battery, and grab a cheap 5v 1amp wall plug usb charger together. This way you won't have to wait for phone to charge 3 hours and change battery (yes, 3 hours)

I see a lot of ppl using these 5v 1amp charger to charge their handphone. or some of them even use the ipad 2A charger to charge the phone.

Just a word of reminder: Plz don't do that so often unless you confirm that your battery can sustain such high current. Else, it'll only damage your battery(shorter life span) or even worst case if the protection circuit goes wrong, explosion  might happens.

Or any1 can confirm that our handphone battery can sustain such high current charging ?

I have been using the 2A charger ( including car charger )  to charge ALL my android phones, tablets , blackberry for the last 2 years and never has any issue with batteries
*
QUOTE(neekun @ Dec 14 2011, 12:32 PM)
Yup me using iPad charger to charge my Sgn too. So far no issue.

Plz do not confuse (V)oltage, (A)mpere and (W)attage.
V x A = W

As a Computer hardware salesperson who is very aware and always updating myself for 3.5 years before I quit,

Voltage must be always within 3% tolerance, max 5% for precision and expensive hardware. Example, Sirim Test for electrical product, must be able to tolerate 240V +-5%. Becoz Tenaga Malaysia's power supply is fluctuating, not always at precisely 240V. Over or under voltage is very bad for your hardware.

Ampere is how much capacity can it supply to your hardware.
If the hardware is requiring more then what is supplied, it won't work properly.
That's why computer usb charging, some old nokia/SE charger, some cheap 0.5A car charger will charge slower.
I personally tried with 2 phone, HTC Desire and Aria with mix computer charger and old SE charger, Desire's battery got memory issue, and Aria's board battery sensor kaput.
So over ampere is ok, under ampere is bad.

Wattage is just a measurement for how much the device consume, and how much your monthly Tenaga bill is.

Plz correct me if my understanding is wrong.
Thanks

Just received the PDAir case I'm expecting for my Nexus. As expected, it adds considerable thickness to carrying the Nexus, unlike the case I got for the Note. Sigh....
*
pdair case and cadpase is thicker in comparison to melkco, whiched i ordered, no arrival date yet~
but then again, melkco case is somewhat filmsy compare to others. thinner have it's disavdvantages~

It's more of a slot pouch than a case. I don't like Melkco cases that open-extends to the bottom. Slot pouches protects the phone and keeps the phone's dimensions as it is when taken out to be used.

Hello Guys~
Flashed to Android Revolution HD 2.1.0, just restore most of my apps now.
Seems stable, forced to start using juice defender ultimate again, due to battery drain.
I was thinking that with ICS 4.0, data control should be done better, not needing customer to further purchase some USD 7.00++ app to get the battery saving features.

On a side note, the car dock I ordered from HTCpedia, seems to be verizon version, means no pogo pin, no audio out, and a cut-out on the phone's micro-usb for charging.

Fixed. I'm a person, not a thing/animal.

Good to see that the local launch is coming. I consider the premium price I pay as early entry to using it. To each his own.

Good to see the populace here has cleaned up their acts too. Only one troll post.

opsie~ My bad, sorry.

Running Android Revolution HD 2.1.0 for a day and a half, tangan gatal then restart phone. no bug found so far. Jusr some apps and games that doesn't support ICS yet I think.

Apps with problem:
Super KO Boxing 2 (slow button response)
Hide it pro (tried with root access, hiding prawn)
Heavy Gunner 3D (2nd turret control doesn't react to my finger)
Launcher pro with calendar widget
and some games that don't support 1280x720, buttons placement mess up)

It's yellowish to me as well.
On some LCD screen, true white is never white.
Maybe it's because they are using different panel then those cheap TN panel LCD screen?

I have a HTC Rhyme that uses S-LCD, which white is very bright and very "white", compare to AMOLED series.
And I notice the same thing on my old Samsung 173P monitor as well.

Any LCD panel expert care to explain? Anything to do with SRGB color gamut? To achieve more gamut, they have to down tune white?
