QUOTE(cougar richard @ Nov 30 2011, 09:32 AM) Yup..there gonna be much fewer custom roms for Nexus than to Galaxy S series. Most developers buy Nexus to port its UI into other phones but seldom built custom roms for Nexus itself. :-) |

QUOTE(djlah @ Nov 30 2011, 09:56 AM) Thanks God that Nexus didn't use Yamaha DAC soundchip as per SGSII. Hope we can get Voodoo on it:::wink wink::: QUOTE(cougar richard @ Nov 30 2011, 01:21 PM) same here. i never use any android phone but soon, will gv it a try. so now wanna see which one meets my need. I got my non-G white SGSII less than a week ago. You had to buy AP set if you're really interested in non-G version. anyway, Gnote is a little too big in my pocket and hand. was looking at sgs2 previously but i9100 no longer on sales and i9100g still not much custom rom. so i will juz wait for the release of nexus and see how ppl comment on it. anyway, my choice is either one of these 3 phones: Nexus, Note, i9100g. Pros : tons of custom roms. Cons : warranty hussle |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 1 2011, 09:13 PM) The best and/or worse has been covered by popular tech sites like Engadget and Gizmodo already. ~~lolol~~ I get what you mean :-)) ::I'd rather answer specific questions like FM radio query, coz I know what to expect/answer. My opinion may differ in preference to another person here (as proven by previous disagreements here Congratz for you as our very first user. 1) can you please compare the sound quality between Nexus and your Note. Which one is better since Nexus is using different (TWL) soundchip than Note (Yamaha). Thanks |

GSM Arena should called Google Galaxy Nexus or just Galaxy Nexus without the manufacturer name. Same with Google One and Nexus S without HTC or Samsung name infront of it o_O

QUOTE(phantomash @ Dec 6 2011, 09:36 AM) Agree. but calling it "Google", then right after that "Galaxy" feels really weird. lol Yes., i agreed. Dont know what was Google thinking when they select the name. It breaks the tradition that using Nexus name first followed by the generation. Should be called Google Nexus Galaxy or Nexus Galaxy or just Nexus G.Should have named it Nexus Galaxy instead if the Galaxy name must stay, like the previous 2 Nexus, its Nexus ___, not ___ Nexus, if you get what I mean. its a sign |

FOTA non-Yakju firmware to non-Yakju phone and FOTA Yakju firmware to Yakyu phone. But ALL GNex phone will get its firmware updates from Google regardless which version. Otherwise Google and Samsung just handed its own death warrant |

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Dec 12 2011, 09:39 PM) lol I remember a certain conversation about how Nexus users only care about the stock Nexus experience? ~~bahh~~I kid, I kid. Of course anything can be done after rooting. Then again, having a vanilla build doesn't mean everything. The T-Mobile G2 (US version of HTC Desire Z) had vanilla Android, even with the word 'by Google' on it, but never got Android 2.3 until quite some time. Just bringing it up in case some are looking for that 'Google experience'. All this is nonsense and like Phantomash said 'blown out of proportion'. Nexus S got three or four version but ALL got their FOTA updates without any problems whatsoever. As long as you stay on stock rom with no telcos bloatwares (T-Mobile or whatever)., you'll get your updates via FOTA. |

QUOTE(mikeeeee @ Dec 12 2011, 09:53 PM) + 1Some ppl just read too much but understand too little. Once the phone got telcos bloatwares then for sure the updates gonna be delayed as it had to be intergrate with that stupid telcos bloatwates. So..one thing when you buy your GNex. Make sure it's free from any telcos bloatwares as Google wont support any bloatwares reside in the phone. Be it T-Mobile, Verison, Maxis or whatever. ~~LOL~~ |
