Not really....general terms, the higher your camshaft duration, it sacrifices the torque but gain more in HP smile.gif
With my previous cams also the torque around 136Nm only smile.gif
*
Hey bro, not really. Depends on your "torque means". But I've said this many times to many others already. You might sacrify "shin torque" (= peak torque I assume you mean) but horsepower is a formula that is RPM times torque at that RPM. So when your horsepower raise, your torque at that RPM also raise.

Mostly it is on HP
Our 4G92 is similiar with the B16As.....torqueless wonders

PS: Moon's previous B16A tuned with e-manage also outputs 14kg of torque only, not even hitting 15kg but the rpm is very high
*
Bro, not really. First, when they say torque on a 4g92p is high, they usually mean low end torque. Means the lower RPM part, that I agree. If you're saying for the entire RPM, no, because its absolutely POINTLESS to make loads of torque in the beginning while making close to nothing later (like our 4g92p). On the other hand, the B16a might not make a lot of torque, but it doesn't go down after the low RPM part, that's why it can have so many horsepower. What it does not have (high torque numbers), it make up with rate (RPM) and a torque that doesn't drop rapidly at high RPM.

Hope you understand this. 4g92p on the other hand is doh.gif , just use it to go pasar buy vege enough...

Using a 280 duration camshaft, power band all shifted to the high end. Compression I won't touch any more until it is time to rebuild again, by that time higher chances put 1.8 block instead for torque XD

GFX, I am talking about peak torque between my engine now compared to a B16A on stock form as my engine now needs to rev higher to get max torque and power
*
Yeah, because you changed higher duration cams, you produce more torque at the higher end (compared to stock) due to higher duration cams but also lower low end torque due to lost of compression as the valves are open more longer. Notice I'm not saying just a number as in the peak torque number. wink.gif

Ok. But peak torque really don't matter.
Btw, do you have adj cam pulley? What would they do on a SOHC besides switching the power earlier which might be useful for a handicap ECU like mine?

Then my torque just like that across, but HP climb like usual?
*
LOL, you're just inviting me to give you a lecture.

Ok, first, power is torque multiply rpm. Let's write this in simply equation. a = b x c
Let's say you have a b that is constant, like that straight line curve of torque of your car (which is damn good curve if you ask me).
Let b constant have a value of 10.

So for different values of c in increment of 1

c b
1 10
2 10
3 10
4 10
5 10
6 10
7 10
8 10
9 10
10 10

Please multiply for a and see if a is increasing or constant. Then replace c for RPM and b for your torque and you will understand the whole concept of this engine dyno thing why peak hp DEFINITELY happens after peak torque RPM.

wink.gif

Added on January 15, 2012, 6:47 amTo demonstrate how hp can go up even if torque goes down.

1 11 = 11
2 10 = 20
3 9 = 27
4 8 = 32
5 7 = 35
6 6 = 36

Added on January 15, 2012, 6:49 amTo demonstrate how hp can go down

1 11 = 11
2 8 = 16
3 7 = 21
4 6 = 24
5 5 = 25
6 4 = 24
7 3 = 21

Added on January 15, 2012, 6:55 amAnd if someone can show me car can have peak power at an RPM before peak torque RPM, I would treat him eat anything he wants. tongue.gif rclxms.gif icon_idea.gif brows.gif

Yeah peak torque don't really matter because the cams already changed my engine's characteristics

Nope, mine still with stock cam pulley. Like you said, SOHC basically just shifts the power band, yours is actually okay already, you just need to unlock the additional 700rpm more. 15.15kg for a 1.8 SOHC is actually good already because you have upgraded intake, cams....what you actually need to do last is port and polished the cylinder head of yours

PS: But before that, can you tell me your when is your peak torque? Still at 5000rpm?
*
I understand all that, but right now I'm thinking if I'm better off with a DOHC or a MIVEC, with the cams, the high end torque and power is better but still quite low to what you can get from a DOHC.

What to do, you are suffering the same thing as I suffered, your torque is lower than you expected but make way for more HP at high rpms due to the high duration camshaft. After all, both of us are only SOHCs. How about your compression? Did you use back 92p pistons for more compression?
But if you are really going DOHC, your camshaft let me know if you want to sell, my younger brother might be interested

Offer me, I was looking to sell, really!

Skip the FPR and get a management directly. No point having it unless you don't plan to get management in the future.

Hi guys wave.gif

Hmmm...I've filled my radiator with 2 bottles of coolant ( 50/50 ) mixture and fill up reservoir tank with normal filtered water.

But when the engine run for a while, i shut the engine and let it cools, then check the reservoir tank, it was empty sweat.gif

1. Check silicone hose, no leak
2. Check radiator butterfly clamp, no leak and secured nicely.
3. Check reservoir tank itself, no leak
4. High rev the engine, no smoke from the exhaust. ( Head gasket still ok? )
5. Radiator cap also checked, no leak.

May i know any other problems else? I've try googled but I already checked what they said.
*
Check the radiator cap, the spring might be bad. Happens to me once and I was thinking it was radiator leaking! End up change radiator cap then all ok.

hi satria owners, do u think a sgti year 2004, 2011 registered. Rm44k. is it worth the price? or should i go for other cars? like the neo?
*
Definitely overpriced, and that year, its usually a VDO ECU car which is powerless according to many? Get one with MMC ECU. My 2 cents...

Added on January 20, 2012, 6:08 amOr better, just get a Honda Civic EG/EK B16B-R.

Used to wash car once a week, but looking at how the car gone into accident and with different colours at different parts and also pimples coming up from the roof and how busy I'm nowadays, just feel lazy to wash it.

But I love bringing it to a car wash once in a while, just love how they use high pressure water to wash it.
