A few from my AFS litter after a glut session last month(yes they are overfed!). My fault, I tossed in one too many crickets as I left for a weekend away from home. Their mesosoma looks much better now after cutting down a little on food.

They have recently celebrated their 1st birthday, at instars 5-6.

Hello there; Hi;
Im kinda new around here, and actually, my boyfriend is a total scorpion fanatic. The thing is that he recently bought one scorpion, a Heterometrus Scorpion and is continuously complaining about how it isnt aggresive enough (which is partially true). His birthday is coming up, and I was wondering where can i bring him to choose from a range of variety types of scorpions, from fast to slow, from big to small, any type at all, as long as there are many.

are there any suggestions? I have already been to Pet Safari, and they only have ONE type of scorpion. He kinda actually wants the fast, aggressive types. smile.gif help please? wink.gif
xx please please please?

emm, want to ask about my scorpion condition. she is not really eating for about two weeks and the size is almost like the one in the picture one.

the stomach is bigger than the usual size and i am afraid if it is pregnant cause i havent handle pregnant scorpion before. can any one help?

the first time i brought her, i was told she was pregnant. and i need to take good care of her. that was one month and one week ago.

can i still feed her? and what should i do next to deliver the juvenile if she is pregnant?

should i post a picture or two to be more accurate evaluation?
please help.

Added on June 15, 2008, 5:37 amhai roykenzaki, you can actually hold it and play with it. but you have to look into its condition, not being snap by it. to remove it from its container, ou will have to hold its tail by not snapping by its snap snap!

try to avoid cloths from it cause it will hold on to it and hard for you to remove it. if thats the case then you will need a paper to put on the side of the cloth, any side and try to use stick or something save to push it gentlely to the side or small force so that it move toward the paper and you hold its tail.

dont hold for too long or too hard cause you will hurt it.
hope my words can help. if i am wrong, please correct me. thank you.

Added on June 15, 2008, 5:39 amthe price of the scorpion depends on the size, type and region. each place sell them with different values.

but generally, like the one on the photo one, the cost range is about rm12-rm25. in penang, some place you can get that price for rm12 if you know the fella.

Added on June 15, 2008, 5:42 am naekole you can try reptile auction.com to seek scorpions and other stuff.
or theres a place call what i dont know in kl, emm.... i will let you kow tomorrow afternoon as soon as i wake up and ask my gf. hehehehe

I came home to this today. A double moult. Happening for a second time in a row, I can't help but to imagine that these guys have somewhat of a synchronized biological clock. They decide to moult on the same time and go for it.

Common Name : Florida Bark Scorpion / Brown Bark Scorpion
Latin Name : Centruroides Gracilis

user posted image
Like most bark scorpions, they use gravity to their benefit when moulting; posing on a vertical rock and getting out of their old exoskeleton.

The second scorpion, already setting foot on ground.

Maybe yes/maybe no. Depends on how communal a particular species is. I don't keep any of my scorpions (except AFS) in a communal setup.

max, safest way is to keep individual seperately. Same for snakes, even cornsnakes.

If you are referring to AFS adults, you should face very little to nil problem. Cannibalism mostly occurs in the juvenile stage, and in underfed ones. Adults prefer to go hungry than killing each other for food. At least that is what I've observed. AND what I observe may not apply for all cases.

Why would you want to breed scorpions? Noticed that there seem to be an influx of people wanting to breed every thing they can get their hands on. Every Tom, d*** and Harry, especially those with money in mind. Breeding animals needs a lot of commitment and discipline. It's an act of love and passion for a certain species more than anything else. But somehow breeding this and that has started to become a disturbing trend now.

Personally, I am not hitting at you max. I have nothing against you. I just believe that inducing an animal to bring babies to life would require a lot of thinking and TLC. Tiny as they may be, a life is still a life.

Take care of your scorpions well and they will reward you well buddy. wink.gif
