"YOUTH In Charge": SUPPORT Malaysian Youths make a difference, VOTE for the COMMUNITY PROJECTS shortlisted

“YOUTH In Charge” is a Magnum eCSR Program to empower Malaysian Youths to take charge and to lead projects that will make an improved difference to our community.

Submission of projects has closed and a total of 7 projects have been shortlisted for ONLINE PUBLIC VOTING.

Category: Project SMALL*

As we only received 2 Project SMALL submissions, both of them have been shortlisted for your voting. The project which garners the highest votes will receive matching funding up to RM5,000** each. However, since there's only 2 Projects received and shortlisted, you can vote for either one of the Project or you can vote that BOTH Projects be supported. The power is in your hands!

The 2 shortlisted Projects under Project SMALL are:
(1) Humane Touch Animal Society Fencing Project (Johor)
(2) Operasi Cili Padi (KL)

Category: Project BIG*

The two (2) projects under this category which garners the top 2 highest votes will receive matching funding up to RM25,000** each.

The 5 shortlisted Projects under Project BIG are:
(1) Indigenous People Capability Enhancement Program (Sarawak)
(2) <Love, No Barrier> EPIC Home (Pahang)
(3) Nalanda Free School (Selangor)
(4) Silent Teddies (KL)
(5) Developing Silamban & Varmakalai among Youths; the traditional Indian martial arts (KL & Selangor)

Remember that Magnum will offer the winning project teams matching Funding**, Guidance and Publicity.

With your votes, the successful project teams will then be able to implement their worthy cause and help improve our Community.

Magnum Corporation Sdn Bhd’s (Magnum) message to the Youths, “You Have The Power To Help, All You Have To Do Is To Take Charge! Magnum Is With You!”

The 4 project teams are about to translate their passion into action. First, they have to raise funds and then implement their community projects which have garnered the most votes through the recently concluded on-line voting on the Magnum eCSR Program, “YOUTH In Charge”. This is a CSR initiative using the on-line platform to empower Malaysian Youths to take charge and to lead and implement projects that will make a difference to our community.

The 4 community projects most supported by the on-line viewers are:

To construct fencing to the farm that houses over 50 stray cats and dogs.

To repair, renew and renovate home for a needy single parent family residing in the urban area.

To equip the newly set up centre in providing over 200 needy students the opportunity for quality education and support services such as seminars and skills development programs.

To renovate and improve the existing baking kitchen and set up a café in providing children with hearing and speaking impairment an opportunity to learn baking skills and be employed in the related commercial fields.

• * Projects SMALL are project of smaller scale and Projects Big are projects of bigger scale.
• ** Matching Funding for Project SMALL and Project BIG is RM5,000 per project and RM25,000 per project, respectively.

The matching funding available for each of the Project SMALL is up to a maximum of RM5,000 and for each of the Project BIG is up to a maximum of RM25,000.

We are pleased to announce that the 4 teams have had their project plan in place and will commence their fundraising activities from now till 31 March 2012 (for Project SMALL) and 31 May 2012 (for Project BIG). Fundraising activities will be conducted in two ways i.e. on the field fundraising and on-line donation.

If you wish to support these community projects and donate on-line, please log on to Youth In Charge and look for “I want to Donate” button on the “YOUTH In Charge” homepage. Magnum has secured the assistance of Ernst & Young to carry out the Audit on these accounts to ensure transparency and proper disbursement of the funds.

While the donation drive is on-going, the project teams will also progress with their community project as the stipulated completion date for Project SMALL is 30 April 2012 and Project BIG is 30 June 2012.
