Last night i spotted a couple of proton cars, being loaded onto a lorry. They were all hatchbacks, and some were still wrapped up in plastic. Had no idea what car was it. Around 7.30pm @ the road in front of sunway college. Anyone spotted it? New proton cars?
*

if i'm not wrong
fog lamp is just guiding light when have fog...letting ppl know there is car
and on very dark road...shine the side of the road(divider)
spotlight in another hand is like the high beam of headlamp...it beams and shine the whole road infront of u
but difference is bright yellow...headlamp high beam is kinda whitish(from what i see when i high beam)

Thanks for the info...

Becos i quite service at Proton SC since 17k km, so i din follow the booklet...
I remember power steering, manual tranny and brake oil no need to change so early.

But last week i went to change engine oil, the worshop told me my power steering feel heavy, oil change colour adi, manual tranny oil also...he even told me that the accessories belt is due also...nvm heard that before... rclxub.gif

I doubted becos the steering is heavy in nature, manual tranny can till 60k should be OK,accessories belt should be change with timing belt to avoid extra workman ship...

Nvm, i think i will go to change tranny oil and power steering oil @ 60k mileage, now no money... moneyflies.gif
*
manual tranny oil last till 60k?..gotta be kidding...40k better go change already..its not expensive
auto ATF only 20k...manual mostly somewhere double only...60k is kinda too over
steering oil...not so sure when to change but my dad's waja till now never change if not wrong

I checked service manual yesterday la, manual tranny oil need to change @ 50k la...
*
at least is 50k..not 60k
the longer u wait...the more metal scrap inside that oil
my recommendation is still 40k
service more often is not a bad thing...somemore good for your GB

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Dec 7 2011, 04:41 PM)
Manual gear should be no problem one la...it dun contribute much to noise, compression and power loss, as long as it got oil inside should be Ok one, not as critical as piston need fresh oil, right? tongue.gif same as ur dad power steering oil also ma, recommended is service/40k, but your dad nvm change at all, now still running strong right? power steering should be more fragile than manual GB...lol laugh.gif
*
power steering oil is different...theres no moving parts there
GB...tons of moving part inside...each time u switch gear...its gonna contribute some metal scrap into it
the more metal scrap in there...gonna decrease the GB's lifespan
thats why need to constantly change
and u haven't count those didn't press enough clutch ones...those "Krrrrr"..those contribute more metal scrap
BUT its also good to service 50k...reason?...GB has a lifespan of 200k...so since it will break when it hit that mileage...why service so often..haha

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Dec 7 2011, 05:25 PM)
That one is CVT la...my dad's 30 years old Datsun 120Y manual GB still intact leh, way more than 200k adi...manual GB can last forever i think... whistling.gif unless you brutally shift gear without pressing clutch at all la...

About that "Krrr" sound, recently these 6 months did that about 10 times adi, mostly happened @ 5th gear, dun know skill problem or something wrong about the clutch or tranny itself... doh.gif mostly happened during practice short shift... tongue.gif
*
you're wrong....that datsun is old GB..like i said be4...older car be4 year 2000 is very long lasting(the older the better, the process they take to make those part takes longer time and use better quality material)
newer car...no matter what GB u used....the lifespan is 200k...no matter manual, auto or CVT etc
no new generation GB can last too far over 200k
i know cuz my dad's waja is a manual...it died on 19X,XXXKM...so that kinda proves the lifespan of the GB
nothing now last forever....if it last forever, company is gonna close down...see it from business prespectives(company now are money oriented...cut cost and reduce lifespan)

Why ur dad's waja GB broken?
*
not so sure...some plates inside broke..if not wrong...i forgot already...2 years ago already
what i remember is even that workshop cannot fix...they need to send to another shop to get it changed and weld
GB now doesn't use better material like last time already...even forging time also shorten by 1/4 as i read somewhere
thats why there is a lifespan

tai-gor, u think gb is like mi4 :this tape will self-destruct in x sec? lol ...
Blm g/b built by aisin leh, u think so easy to earn it's reputation?
Punch auto tu tak tahu. good luck to the flx.
*
its the same bro
it's not abt reputation in the real world...its abt business...abt money
NO MONEY...do u still think that company can survive?
if its so good and durable...the company won't even exist already...cuz its sooo good, it doesn't break down/spoil
thus, no one buys GB/part from them cuz they can last forever...the car can last forever
every part of the car have a lifespan...if no lifespan, i can drive that car forever and never change car ever again = aisin going bankrupt

hi bro bro ...

sorry for the interruption.. my BLM (old type) boots was banged and now need to change to a new one according to the technician. May i know is there any difference between taiwan made and original one? And the price between 2 of them? Please advice and tq.. icon_question.gif
*
taiwan..if not wrong is lower quality
but since boot is not always open...probably u can take taiwan made if low on budget
but if budget allow..just take the ori/OEM ones
