how to identify fake sanyo batteries:


1. Look at the colour of the background. The left hand is original sanyo battery. the right hand side is fake sanyo battery. The fake one will have yellowish on the background instead of pearl white


2. Look carefully at the "MODEL HR-3U 1.2V" font. the left is original sanyo. the right side is fake sanyo battery. The fake one the font is a little bit compressed instead of bold font and the font side is a smaller for the fake battery


3. look carefully for all the font. The left is original sanyo and the right side is fake sanyo battery. if you look carefully,the font used in fake sanyo is different. (+) in original battery will have closer bracket (+) and fake one will have wider bracket ( + )


4. don't be fooled by the HR stamp on the bottom of the battery. left side is original sanyo and right side is fake sanyo. the font for HR is different on fake and original. fake one will have bigger font size and original will have smaller font size. and you can see the bottom of the battery,the diameter is different. orignal will have bigger diameter and fake one have smaller diameter


5. another clear pic


and original sanyo will have emborsed manufactured date. refer picture number 3. you will see a dark cop on it

In this picture, the word [minimum] on the fake one look a bit weird, and the word [R] in the [RECHARGEABLE] is on top of the (+) sign, where as the original one is a bit left hand side over the (+) sign. . .

the original will have pearl white background which looks like metalic paint. you can refer pic 1.
and fake 1 will have dull yellowish background

for fake batteries. 2pcs is worth only RM10 or below

Look at the first picture. The fake Sanyo would have a small groove on the top part of the battery, a part where the diameter is smaller

seems like the ori and the fake one cant be tell by just looking at it coz only very little smalllllllllllll diff between them.... u cant really judge by just looking at them coz they come in a seal package rite?

so i believe the only way to tell ori or not is the manu date stamped on the batt itself correct?

I just read this post in the bulk sale section. Are you making all these statements by own observations or you have official or validated information from proper channels?

I just checked the net on the WEX charger, I can't find a charger with 4x2500AA. Perhaps it's a different packaging for that model. I will also request a verification from my supplier on the statements you have made. Update soon.

What is the price of the ori one? The fake ones I bought from the lowyat member 'ashmy' priced at about RM 12 per 2 piece pack. DAMN IT! Curse him man!

I have something to add. With regards to the "HR" chop.. my 2300 is Large Font & my 2100 is Small Font. BUT the "diamater" is consistent of 1cm.

When is the guide coming out? Very eager to have a look on that one. In terms of performance and life cycle any difference between the ori and fake ones? Heard that fake ones are as power as ori ones.

Ori ones are nimh, discharges after 2 weeks macam (will show low battery on ur digicam).
FAKE ones are nicd - hence the light weight - and also wont lose charge so much as nimh, will still work after 3 wks.

look carefully at the + sign below the Rechargable font and - sign below the battery font. your 2300mAh is fake. by looking at the HR at the bottom of the battery,i also can see your battery is fake. and the Model HR-3U 1.2V font for 2300mAh also determine it is fake

Honestly, my eyes cant catch your determination. I'll put a side by side comparison to share with all. My camera is not as powerful as yours, but this is the best that I can do. Direct shot, only "crop" the sides, NO photoshop work done. (BTW my bulk is on HOLD until this is sorted out)

Kindly advise on the DIAMETER of the "Negative" Terminal. my 2100 and 2300 are consistent 1cm. According to your analysis, the fake is smaller right? My 2100 has no isssues confimed?

1. The "+" is until the "H" and the "-" is until the "e"
2. Colour is Pear White with "metalic" background
3. Diameter of Negative Terminal is 1cm
4. Font is consistent for the "i"
5. the "A" is closer with the "m"
6. Font Size of "Model" is consistent with your example

Please do keep in mind that we are comparing different version of batteries and we are just talking about the plastic cover.

Any Electronical backround people here that can shead some scientific light on the cells ratings? Next thing in line would be to get a multimeter?

If indeed I was suckered by my supplier, I also need to know the facts.

I think you do not have a problem with its quality. BabyK's statements are just based on his observation on certain batch of batteries.

I have gotten my supplier's confirmation that the new Sanyo chargers are all with 2x2500AA. Our batteries are genuine and best in quality.

We have no problem with our customers so far, except for a few defect batts where we are glad to replace them.

So please do not make statements without solid proof and verifications from the source.

edit : came accross Sanyo Official Energy website.. it clearly states that charger NC-MQHO1N-WEX-SS package comes with 2-pcs batt. ( Ni-MH 2500mAh)..

Observing ezCISS's batteries pics having depress around the base, isnt that one of the significant "fake" signs?
Without taking the bubble plastic cover the "mettalic" white/pearl background may not be pronounced.

So far i bought from greatworld and chris_x... their Sanyo are 100% original... didnt gave me any problem unlike Sony.... it sucks hell a lot... especially those AAA ones... use my Sanyo smart charger... it will charge stable for about 10 to 15 times... after that, Sanyo charger wouldnt charge as the LED blink to show error...

the last time i bought sony rechargable in Lelong.com. it was damn cheap and lots of people are bidding for it. I won the auction but after using it a few times...i can't seem to charge it full...a "fully charged" batt can only last my digital camera for 15 mins. Depends on how long the batts are idle after charging.
After a week or two, the fake = more power = cos less discharge due to it being a niCD

btw, 1 more point,
if you guys look at the batteries in a standing position, you will notice that there's a difference at the bottom,

Now im testing another 2 pieces of Sanyo 2500Mah AA battery bought from greatworld at RM 10 each. It seems like the packaging is identical with Chris_X. Performance wise not yet tested. Will 2500Mah easily self discharged when it was left keep in the box for a few days after the battery fully charged?

I wonder anyone could help me solve this problem... My Sanyo 2500Mah AA battery bought from Chris_X starting to give me problem. Charge cycle less than 100 times. After charging, left it for about 1 to 2 days... When i use it... It shows only 1 bar of battery level instead of 4 or 3 at least.

Does this battery will quickly self discharge after fully charge?

There seems to be manufacturing problem with sanyo 2500's (originals tat self discharge damn fast). Mine also affected. One week left idle, can't even on my kodak digicam. It doesn't even have juice to flash the red LED indicator for "useless battery"

Just reading this interesting issue.
I've bought batts from Chris_x before..not just a few but couple of lots for myself & friend. Its been in good service till todate. I should think Chris_x is not about to spoil his reputation by selling fake stuff and would be intelligent enough to ensure that.
But reading this issue gives me jitters and have to be more careful on next purchase.

Chris_x is not selling fake units... What i found out from greatworld who use to sell Sanyo battery even now.... Even is much cheaper. During 2004 production batch. There is defective on it. I guess i bought mine from Chris_x during 2004 production that has this problem. Current new batch seems to be working find and sanyo has resolve the issue.

BTW, for the tip. Use only Sanyo charger to charge 2500Mah battery as it uses special substance battery.

arghhhhhhhhh, i just won a bid for a sony charger and batteries 2 days ago and rec'd it today via pos laju, and now after reading and checking out on it, ITS FAKE! arghhhhhhh, i won the bid by 46 bux and hell i tot was so darn cheap, coz I saw ori sanyo charger wif 2 AAA batteries was around 70 bux, kena con liao, dunno able to get back a refund from the fella, and YES from lelong.com.my, are we able to complain to lelong's admin about this?
