QUOTE(WilliamSun @ Jul 3 2012, 11:16 AM) hi guys, Anyone know where to get billiards (pool) cue brand like : Predator,Mezz, Poison ? which have the price of lowest : 600+ I am looking into Mezz cue dealership .. which in HK now =) thanks I don't think those high end pool cue brands you mentioned you can get below RM1k. Team Sports Marketing is the appointed dealer of Predator and Poison. Not sure about Mezz. You can contact them about the price.

Cues in HK may be cheap, but that is not the case in Malaysia. As far as I know Predator and Poison cues are above RM1K. Now I know that cues in HK are cheap, I am going to HK on a cue shopping spree....woohoo!

i agree that not all GB tables are great. but they are by far one of the best pool club in town in terms of number of tables and most of their tables are quite decent. I have played pool for many years in many pool clubs. i have seen my share of badly maintained table. It makes GB's table look the best.
The average table rate is between 14 - 16/hr. i do not know how you can still get 7.50/hr here. besides, GB kuchai offers discounted rate during the day until 5pm. i think it's rm10/hr if not wrong.
As for pool tournament, GB organizes pool tour at all GB outlets almost on a monthly basis. the next one will be in GB USJ. this is one of the good thing GB has done promoting cue sport in Malaysia.

i presume you live in old klang road since you hang out at Scott Garden. i suggest playing at GB Kuchai Avenue, near NSK Hypermarket in the afternoon before 5pm. they offer 40% discounts i think. and its also cheap if you play solo.
as for money games, there are many players play for money. though not a big amount. Just to make the game more challenging. i know there are many money players hanging out at GB Sunway Mentari. there are some too at Kuchai Avenue. you can check these places out.

QUOTE(Blackfinn @ Oct 3 2012, 01:42 AM) Yup I Old Klang Road right on the Junction. There's a GB close by to scott garden. Cool, I'll check out these places sometime soon. Oh btw, I read on Cue Clubz that there's a pool tourney at GB USJ from the 15th-20th Oct, but I can't find any more details, do you happen to know anything about this event? There s another GB nearby. It's at Kuchai Avenue next to NSK. Check that out too. That pool tourney at GB USJ is actually a 10-ball ranking tour held in almost every GB outlets. the top ranking players got to play in the Grand Finals that will also be held at GB USJ i think. you can check out their FB page https://www.facebook.com/teamsportsmalaysia.

QUOTE(bug_vengeance @ Dec 5 2012, 11:55 PM) hi guys can suggest any good place to play pool other than the one in kuchai ? with reasonable fee of course just want to play 1-2hours of pool practice n social with fren depending on where do you live. GB sunway mentari is quite a good place to meet players. not so much of training though coz it's always pack with people at night. unless you go there in the afternoon. there is one GB in old klang road. The junction to kuchai from old klang road wet market. They all have the same rate except for their Brunswick tables. It's slightly expensive.

A game of guard in pool consist of 3-4 players. It involve money. The objective of the game is to clear the table and not leave any balls or easy shots for your opponents. If you break and clear the table, all players will have to pay you. If you leave a shot to your immediate opponent and he/she clears the table you will have to pay up. The betting rate I usually play is RM2 - RM10 - RM20. A foul is worth RM2. Clear table is RM10 (the person who gives you the shot pay you) . Break and clear everyone pays RM20.
In snooker, I think the more points you score the more money you get. Meaning, if the betting rate is RM1 per point and you score 18 points, the player who gives you the shot pay you RM18.
Guard is a fun game, but if the betting rate is high, the tension increases. Play what you can afford.

QUOTE(keeystar @ Mar 26 2013, 10:20 PM) just wanna know the common rate for pool, currently playing rm17-18 per hour, damansara area, ok or expensive? Rm17-18 i think is standard rate in KL. There may be cheaper rate around, but i think they all have sub-standard tables.

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Aug 1 2013, 02:01 PM) Will be going to Sunway Mentari to try the pool tables. This is where Efren Reyes and the gang would be playing at when they reach Msia Reyes and the gang would probably be hanging out at GB Mentari. But the Asia Invitational Championship will be held at GB Kuchai and USJ.
