QUOTE(Koross @ Dec 2 2011, 11:17 AM) So far the only bug I have experienced due to the new patch is the elemental resistances not working. This makes magic using enemies a real pain ... Only meet two dragons so far tapi dah ada Dragonrend. Met two dragons so far. Killed one and the other was just flying around and it wasn't close enough for me to attack so it just flew away. Best part is that I was about to mine an ore vein, looked down and was about to press the "e" button when a shadow passes over me ... a dragon's shadow. I was awestruck a moment because it was cool. Then I looked up and shouted dragon rend to bring it to the ground. |

This game is uberly addictive. I think it's like a combination of Stalker, Dragon Age and FallOut.

QUOTE Skyrim players rejoice. Those who have been plagued with the technical issues introduced by this week’s 1.2 version of the game should be happy to know that a new patch will be released next week, with a Creation Kit for PC players set to arrive in January. The patch, released merely days ago for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, was supposed to fix many issues players were encountering including texture issues on the 360, as well as save file problems for PS3 users. While it did a great job resolving these, it introduced a whole new set of bizarre glitches. Some players who installed the patch got to see dragons flying backwards, while others have had serious issues with magic resistance. Thankfully these headaches shouldn’t persist for too much longer. In a post today on the official Bethesda Blog, the company stated that it was working on the problem and that players on all platforms could expect an update for the game sometime next week. “This week we released update 1.2 across all platforms, and we’ll be releasing an incremental update next week. We anticipate it will be up on PC first, and then hit PS3 and Xbox 360 later in the week. Among other things, the update will fix issues like magic resistance not calculating properly and the rare, amazing backwards flying dragon,” the company stated. The post went on to state that players can expect more updates to follow: “After the holidays, we’ll continue to release regular updates for the game — through full title updates, as well as incremental “gameplay updates” to fix whatever issues come up along with rebalancing portions of the game for difficulty or exploits. We plan on having a lot of these, not just a few.” In addition to addressing the current aggravations brought on by version 1.2 of Skyrim, Bethesda’s post also gave PC gamers something to look forward to. The company is set to release a Creation Kit for the game in January, allowing players to create their own mods. “PC players will be able to download for free the same development tools we used at Bethesda Game Studios to create Skyrim. In tandem with the Creation Kit’s release, we will roll out a new Wiki and videos to help you get started." If you’re a Steam user, you’ve got even more to be excited about. Bethesda’s Creation Kit has been developed with the Steam Workshop in mind. The result is that the Creation Kit will be able to bundle and upload players mods to the Steam Workshop, where users can check out others work and download mods they like. Despite the numerous issues introduced by Skyrim’s version 1.2 patch this week, Bethesda’s recent statements indicate the company is determined to make things right for its fans through persistent updates. The announcement of the Creation Kit will probably help to smooth some ruffled feathers as well. Drill: http://gamergaia.com/pc/2194-new-skyrim-pa...-to-follow.html |
