three points. beaitiful header by suarez. couldnt ask for more. but still a long way to be a contender for the top 4.
dont want to be a buzz killer but we need to kill this type of game early. last 15 mins makes me really nervous. suarez and maxi should convert their chance.
we also need to make the corners count. we have like what? 793 corners and nothing coming out of it.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Dec 12 2011, 10:51 AM) Surprised me to hell when Neil Warnock backed Suarez for more protection. I thought he was the one having rant at us during his time with Crystal Palace. Correct me if I m wrong. A time when Rafa was still in charge. yes. he butthurt when rafa fielding a weaker team against a team (i forgot) which in relegation battle with his team that time. he ended up being relegated and blame it on rafa. if i was not mistaken, i think a few years before that he's the one that fielding a weaker side to help a certain team battle for title race. QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 12 2011, 12:29 PM) Barton may be playing for the toon army, but in the end, he's scouse. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news...t-kop-reception? he's done way more than any players/explayers could have done on promoting the hillsborough campaign. he's a twat but OK in alot of kopites book because of this alone. my respect to the guy.

torres back in anfield? i'd rather have someone else. yes, he's dangerous striker when he in the mood but he sulk most of the these days. not sure whats his problem. i'm not interested on what is his real reason for leaving either. you've made your decision now live with it. but if kenny feels torres can fit in his plan, then why not. though i'm sure he ended up in spurs or something.. QUOTE(madmoz @ Dec 15 2011, 10:22 AM) "I used to be a goalscorer like you. Then I took an arrow in the knee." too much skyrim, old man?

Villa Park was so damn boring I had to struggle to stay awake.
We never really go past 2nd gear.. The middle was not working well which resulted making Suarez abit quite today. Hendo often kill the momentum by passing back or sideways. Adam, he looks like he ate 2 pies before the match to be honest. Jonjo just so-so...
Carra is back.. though he will be warming the bench for little longer because Skrtel and Dagger are doing fine now.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 19 2011, 08:51 AM) I think there's good reason for this though I didn't find it as boring as you. We sat back after going 2-0 up early and rightly so as we were playing away from home. No need to throw caution into the wind, when the onus is on the home side to come back at us. The pace of the game dropped because Villa had no idea what to do when face with two banks of defenders, much like us not too long ago. We played 5 across the park with the option of pushing Bellamy up next to Suarez, shifting Downing to the left and Shelvey to the right. This didn't happen of course when we scored 2 in 15 minutes. All in I think it was a pretty convincing win although there were times we were playing in our own half, but like I said, there was reason for this. By the end of the game, we had scored 2, hit the post twice and missed at least 3 guilt edged chances. A good day at the office if you ask me especially since we were away from home. Couldn't really tell at times thought as the Travelling Kop was awesome once again. YNWA and Fields of Anfield Road. I was referring to the Villa Park atmosphere.. it was dead in there.. travelling kopites are louder than the home fans. christmas will be busy so as you said it was understandable why we slow down the tempo abit after the 2nd goal. but one goal from villa yersterday would be trouble. though reina could be sleeping at the post without worrying conceding a goal. all and all.. 3 points, cleansheet, carra's back and no injury. good game indeed

suarez = 8 matches ban based on a players report with no footage/proofs. based on hearsay.
terry = how many games will he get because there's a live footage of him doing so. this case should be quick to judge and given sentences.
though i think, LFC will contest this in court if an appeal denied. it will surely will drag on for quite a while.

can we stop with suarez now? so the guys from the other thread will go back to their own. ive been avoiding this thread for couple of days but can no longer do that.
i dont have any qualm on suarez suspension but i do have problems with how many games he should be banned. the neutrals might agree 8 games is way too much. i was thinking maximum 3 to 5 games would be fair.
its not like i didnt support our own players but he did admit he called the crybaby a negrito to the press. so he should just accept the punishment. it was his fault for not keeping his mouth shut. LFC PR also should be blamed because they didnt advise Suarez to do so. if he just keep quite they wouldnt have a strong case against him.
negrito is fine in latin america but not in england it seems. this is his lesson and hopefully he will learn to control his temper after this.
btw, lets wait on how many games terry will get. if he gets less then its proof how FA is bias and corrupted.

QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Dec 24 2011, 12:30 AM) quote from the article: QUOTE * Mr Suarez used insulting words towards Mr Evra during the match contrary to FA Rule E3(1);
* The insulting words used by Mr Suarez included a reference to Mr Evra's colour so if I am to ask you, do you think 8 games banned for insulting is fair or excessive? can you answer honestly without bias?

QUOTE(Lionel10Messi @ Dec 24 2011, 12:52 AM) i dont see any difference with both their behavior, really. oh man.. let make this simple. rooney get the punishment because he purpose curse at the camera knowing the game is live televised. KD to Wenger (and tons of others unpunished) - they unaware the camera is pointing at them. at least not right in the face like rooney siatuation. I believe you played football or futsal yourself, you know cursing in swearing in games is normal right? whats not normal is cursing at your spectator intentionally when you scored goal. If you said you never heard swearing/cursing when you played.. then I guess the times changed now.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 28 2011, 08:38 AM) We've been dropping points but we've also been playing well for the better part of the season. Now I for one don't expect to instantly transform into a title contender. Does anyone? If you ask me, we've made some headway by playing good football and creating numerous chances. If we keep playing this way, it's only a matter of time before we rack up the points. Expectations need to be managed. I get the feeling that despite King Kenny being in charge for just one year and John Henry citing the transformation will not happen overnight that some folk are expecting otherwise. I'm not one of those fans demanding for rapid/instant success but the way the team perform so far is so-so. Not much improvements. We might played better football but still lack of end results to show from it. We still have the same inconsistency against weaker team that since long a time already. As some already mentioned, played well and control the game is nothing if we could not capitalize on it. Put the fine saves from the keeper aside, the Blackburn games shows exactly this. For 90 mins we failed win an obvious game that could easily be won. For the first time this season, I'm dissapointed and feel that top 4 is a distant reach for us again this season. It probably too early to feel despair but I cant help feeling that way. We couldn't always said we were unlucky everytime. Good team force luck to be on their side. Just like the red Mancs shows time and time again. Pains me greatly to admit this, they do have this winning mentality that our current team still lacking. It shows especially at the end of the season when the title race is on the line. Don't get me wrong, this is not a baseless bashing. But with our current lineup I fell we should expect to be at better position.. or if not better goal difference.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 28 2011, 11:58 AM) Looking back at the season so far, only against Spurs and Sunderland were we outplayed for the majority of the match. I'm not saying we were excellent in our other games but we had the upper hand. The problem we had not long ago wasn't scoring, it was creating. We could not find ways to muster a shot on goal against opposition that came looking for a draw. In fact some teams even had the audacity looking for 3 points coming away looking like the home side. This season we've only scored 19 goals but we've hit the post 17 times and missed 4 out of 5 penalties. We are creating against almost everyone now. I'm convinced that if we keep plugging away, it's a matter of time before goalkeepers and the post, won't walk away from Anfield with MOM honors. Besides "keep trying, you'll succeed" what do you think needed for our forward to convert those chances? Bar Carroll, I think the forward already have good understanding with each other. How many more games we could afford keep hitting the bar and wasting chances before we said "All right, lets try next season"? This is an honest questions. I would like to know your point of view. oh yeah. 4 from 5 penalties. something is obviously wrong there. This post has been edited by rushmode: Dec 28 2011, 12:13 PM
