Who the heck is Gaston Ramirez? Nvr heard of him.

Neway, more pressing for Liverpool is to get a adequate defensive midfielder cover for Lucas. CA and JH are not reliable covers. We need someone like, say, Jeremy Toulalan?

I googled it for you since you seem to not know of it or yours is broken

Gaston Ramirez

Like many of you here, I want Vargas in the team too but reports have been saying that Chelsea is leading us in getting him. Clubs like Arsenal and internazionale are ready to bid as well in January. Liverpool really need more critical finishers at the moment. Caroll is just not doing it for us right now. Sources about we getting Gaston in the team has doubled since last week. I think KD is trying to get someone who Suarez can be comfortable with up front. No offense but I sense Mark Gonzales in Caroll....

Also, anyone saw the news on Astro 817 just now? One of the ex-referees shared a very interesting talk on Spearing tackle. I forgot his name. Anyone knows?

And if you can spare some time, read these articles. Very interesting.

Loan to Liverpool pefect tonic for Torres?

Caroll? Will it work?

both manu and manc is out of the champs league !!!!!! what a happy day, looks like fergie has to wait another year to try to add to his champs league medal collection !  rclxms.gif

cant wait to see what reasons those 'fans' give, to be honest, some of them are still in reality mode realising their team wasnt good enough against basel. anyways shaqiri is one to watch for the future.

back to us, lots of rumours surrounding 2 attacking players in gaston ramirez and eduardo vargas, but as of now, im pretty satisfied with the squad, kinda feel kenny should probably look into our goalscoring problems. for me, our defence is pretty solid, and going forward, we're creating chances, just not finishing them. i'd take a 5 shots, 2-1 win against a 10 shots, 1-1 draw or 1-2 loss anyday anytime.

spearing for all his energy and also the sentimental value of being the local lad, isnt good enuf imo, n he's not that young, he's 23 and he needs to improve if he plans to stay in the first team imo.
*
There's really nothing to happy about. We're still struggling to get in. I'm not sure if we'll get in this year. Karma's a b!tch. So, I'll just watch from the sideline and enjoy the matches.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 8 2011, 09:12 AM)
I'm shocked by what happened this morning. It was a pretty straightforward group for the mancs or so I thought. Then again Basel are a resilient side. They knocked us out some years back as well.

Speaking of transfer rumors, that bloke Shaqiri was immense for Basel last night and he's only 20. Sweet left foot and he worked his arse off.
*
Yeah. He was intense. Controlling the midfield like a boss nod.gif

I guess City losing is pretty funny. Spent like there was no tomorrow and still fail to get in the last 16. Chelsea, the struggling club at the moment made it instead. biggrin.gif

What did he say?

Something similar to this. http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/ex-...smissal-2538441

I don't remember much, but he said that referee sometimes has to make a hard decisions. The guy also said that he would've give Spearing a red card given the situation. Some referee may give yellow but some, well, ends up like Spearing. If the referee sees/sense excessive force in the tackle whether or not the intent is there, then he deserve to be sent off. Players' safety is the main priority for refs. Something like that...

Again, nonsense.
Not everyone can come into a team and perform straight from the go, no matter if they are senior or junior players. They are human afterall.
They need at least 1 season to settle in and get used to their team mates/playing system.

Again, just because they are seniors does not mean they will perform well with other teams. Just look at Andriy Shevchenko and Hernan Crespo with Chelsea, Juan Sebastian Veron & Mateja Kezman with Chelsea. We need to give them a chance to settle before we make judgements.
*
Yeah but you have to remember, some players ultimately never find themselves in the team. Surely I don't need to name names.

Did u watch the match? Out of the 3 opportunities. Only one of it got the keeeper's chest. Another 2 were superb save. Jus stop ur those crap comments.
*
What's wrong with the guy commenting what based on what he thinks of the game? Seriously.

Yes yes... It's him... Watch him on youtube. Not too sure what so special about him. ohmy.gif

Where did you hear this from? This is probably the most believable rumour so far. Aside from Gaston Ramirez.

Fernando Reges

Liverpool also want to bring in a striker and may yet look at a right winger and another centre back depending on what is available and at what price.

If this came out to be true then does it mean that Kenny and the owner don't have confidence in the recent signings? Well, less than 2 weeks now to January. Let's wait and see

Sour grapes from Warnock, nothing more. He had 38 games to save his arse, not 1.  We owed him nothing. Wasn't like we fielded a team of reserves either. Take a look.

How is that a weak lineup? There were the likes of Alonso and Fowler in the team. The only holes we had was Insua and Paletta. Butthurt Warnock is butthurt.

I posted earlier about the prospect of Henry joining for short term loan...

Damn,  I wish he will and KD will give it a thought...Finisher like henry is severely lack and even if there is one, who would be more familiar than he does to the Premier League? Plus, one established finisher probably cost a bomb....especially during january window..... Henry should probably teach Carrol how to score!

Henry once said he would like to play for us, no? There should be a good chance of signing him short term!
*
I thought our American owner is more interested in buying young players and make it as a long term investments? Someone posted about his post on twitter.

definitely would love getting him back, i just hope KD sees it a bargain.. KD badly wanted him to stay, KD knows it the fans loved him and i guess we are still. Cmon take Torres back! then go to Madrid take Alonso back! then find whr the fux is Luis Garcia take him back also! oh and Mascherano as well ! gg we win

Look at him when he was still in Red. Everyone in the PL feared him. It was kinda a 2 man team with him and Gerrard but still a better team than we have now. I'll take him over anyone any day. Cue the flames

QUOTE
When in form definitely up there with the top 5 strikers of all time. The guy didn't know how to score a shit goal. I think the aura of Anfield and the club + Benitez's tactical prowess brought the best out of him. Don't think he'll ever find the same thunder at that soulless, monotonous joke of an organisation called Chelsea FC.

I think he's been having a physiological block in the part of his brain that controls his awesome finishes ever since he moved out. Current Suarez+Caroll can't match him when he was in his prime.

2:03 my favourite goal

Whoever it is, we need someone to beef up our attack come January. We are being overly depended on Suarez. Kuyt and Caroll haven't been scoring and the player we expect to deliver amazing crosses haven't been doing so.

Look at this stats on Maxi. Quite amazing if you ask me.

A DM, A RW, and a CF/ST would be perfect.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 15 2011, 08:12 AM)
Hmm it seems the term "Liverpool type player", doesn't resonate with everyone. Well, I'm old school in this aspect and it does with me. We all fell in love with him from the time, "his armband proved he was a Red", as pictures revealed the inscription, "You'll Never Walk Alone", underneath his captain's armband as he was still playing for Atletico. We've all bounced to the Torres bounce and we've all chanted his chant. Although I don't hate and him and understand why he left, for a "bigger" club no less, I don't agree with the manner in which he left. If you want to go, be honest and upfront about it. No one expects any player to remain with one club forever but honesty and integrity will at least ensure the fans respect your decision, and both qualities are the hallmarks of a Liverpool type player. Don't say you'll stay and leave weeks later. He says we don't know the real response left and Pepe has echoed his sentiment. So why not tell us? Why not help us understand? If you ask me, it was a career choice, pure and simple.

We know what he's capable of when he feels like playing, something he doesn't seem to be interested info late for whatever reason. If I were to put sentiment aside and look at pure ability then yes, a fit and interested Fernando Torres rivals the best strikers in the world. I cannot however put sentiment aside as it is because of sentiment that i love the club so dearly. To me it is a matter of principle. I hope to receive the explanation I feel he owes us.

You know, instead of writing a shitty one-liner like that, why don't you try joining the conversation? If you don't like what you see, nobody is forcing you to write anything about it.

Nothing much we can do at this point. Let's just hope our captain will be back ASAP! No Suarez, no Lucas, the last remaining games before the new year will be hell for us.

Adam needs to stay off the pies and learn to tackle properly. Lazy pig. that what he is. Downing really need to do something quick. His performance against Wigan was painful to watch.

You really can see what we're lacking at the moment when Gerrard came on last night. Creative passes and good runs inside the penalty area.

Downing and Enrique was pacy and kept breaking their left and right wings but their selfishness, poor crosses and stupid attempts on goals outdo all that. Gerrard should just take the last shot instead of passing it to Downing. Guy sucks to max with finishing. Shouldn't even try.

Adam needs to stay off the christmas pudding. Good god he looked like a fat kid who'd just finished a 100m run. Thank god Gerrard is back.

I'm quite annoyed that we are linked with Keita. What the hell? Where goal poaching is a problem, we found time to think about Lucas's replacement and pack in some more midfielders. What the hell is Commolli doing? Isnt, Adam, Henderson, Spearing, Gerrard, Shelvey enough for us? With Lucas back next season, we have 6 midfielders and some of them are playing out of their position already. What will Keita do when lucas is back? Play in the left wing position?

This absolute madness to the core.

I call for a CAM, a RW/RM and a ST. C'mon Kenny. 6 home draws now. Anything else beyond this will be unacceptable.

And why are there so many rumours of Liverpool with Ozil? rclxub.gif
